Kathy Kruse-like doll making kits/

I would love to make a cloth baby doll for my dd age 18mo. I fell inlove with the Kathy Kruse dolls. They are very cost prohibitive. I hadn't thought to make my own until I visited here. I am a new sewer. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place to buy doll making kits? Having everything together would be great, I think. Any suggestions would be great. TIA!

Magic Cabin has some. People seem to like Dancing Rain Dolls and Weir Kits. Joy's Waldorf dolls has nice ones, too. Good luck with it. A search will bring up tons of threads on the topic.

I have been very happy with Joyswaldorfdolls, and dancingraindolls.

I second Dancing Rain Dolls. I made a beautiful doll for my daughter. Everything but the stuffing is included. And it was less $ than I had anticipated.

It definately took me some time, though, so keep that in mind!

I love drd- my kits have always included the wool batting. Amy will also make the head for you- so much simpler!

Thanks everyone. I think I am going to go with a DRD kit. I am still trying to decide if I should buy the pre-made head.

I have to say that I think the pre-made head is so worth it! I was worried about how to get the head right, but the pre-made head made it SO easy. I have only been working on a new doll after bedtimes, and I am almost halfway finished after just a few nights. I would still be working on the head otherwise. Amy lists everything you need to buy on the kit page. Stuffing is included.
