Red Raspberry Leaf Tea?

I've seen it mentioned on different threads. I admit to not really knowing what it is or what it does. Can someone enlighten me?

This quoted from a worksheet on herbs that mw gave me:
"Red Raspberry: A MUST! Unequalled by any other, this herb works specifically on a woman's re-creative organs, stimulating, toning and regulating. Drink 1-3 cups each day, expecially in the last 6 weeks of pregnancy."

I've been drinking probably 4-5 cups a week (because some days I forget). Sometimes I make it with a bag of peppermint, too Oh, and I just saw on the same worksheet under 'Pregnancy Formulas': Pregnancy Tea - equal parts Red Raspberry, comfrey and peppermint. I may need to get some comfrey.

HTH!

I've always heard it tones the uterus. I typically only drink 1-2 cups a week, although I don't know why. I really like it, it just hasn't become habit to drink it yet I guess.

I believe it tones the uterus, making your contractions more effective when the time comes.

I was taking the pill form, now I'm drinking the tea, not every day like I should be.

But I am feeling the braxton hicks contractions a lot more than with my first pregnancy ( this is my second). Don't know if that's due to the red raspberry, or bc this is my second pregnancy.

Ditto to all of the above, I MEAN to be drinking it every day, but it seems to happen about 4-5 times per week, plus I alternate it with a Pregnancy Tea that has RRL in it, just not as potent.

I will be more diligent in the 3rd trimester.

I've been trying to take it every day (mixed with nettles). I wasn't as regular about it in the first trimester, because I would always get BH contractions afterwards and that scared me too much, that early on! There's a ton of information about the tea on the red raspberry leaf tea tribe here: https://www.mothering.com/discussion...d.php?t=347728

I think it's helpful to read the first posts in the tribe, then you can skip to the most recent posts if you want.

It's supposed to help make labor faster because it strengthens the uterus. I've been drinking about 3-4 cups a day of a blend that has Nettle, Red Raspberry leaf, Red Clover, Oatstraw, and Spearmint. It helps keep all the water I drink from being so boring.

I don't think I should drink it then, my first labor was 6 hours and my second 3.5 hours...I can't imagine going faster than that, eeeks. It's already bad enough at that pace.

I've been meaning to start drinking RRL as well, though I was waiting until I was out of the first trimester because I have a history of miscarriage and I was too nervous to try anything that would affect my uterus. I drink tea everyday anyways, so may as well be RRL!

I've been drinking the Traditional Medicinals Pregnancy Tea, which has RRL, Strawberry Leaf, Nettle, and a blend of spearmint, rosehips, alfalfa, lemon verbena and fennel. I try to drink at least 1 cup a day, some days I remember to drink more but I love the taste.

I would like to try something a little more "potent" though I do love this mix, and find it very relaxing.

I was drinking it occasionally, but noticed that it was causing contractions for me the last 2 times I took it. Most women it just causes BH, but it was causing real contractions, so I've decided to stop taking it until I'm at least 36 weeks.

I wonder if I could get away with taking it in a smaller amount, like in the Traditional Medicinals one. I'd really like to start getting nettles & alfalfa in.
