for those of you feeling nauseous... does it help to just throw up and get it over with? or should I continue to fight it? I'm at work and am worried that vomiting will make it worse... although I feel like crap and REALLY want to throw up!

Thankfully, I haven't thrown up yet this time around, but with my last pregnancy I did my fair share. I tried to fight the urge to vomit because I didn't feel better after I did - just weak. I also lost weight in the beginning, so I wanted to keep as much nutrition inside as I could.
Sometimes sucking on a piece of hard candy helped. I also went through a phase were I couldn't get out of bed in the morning without having a root beer popsicle. And, when all else failed I just tried to eat things that would be less painful to vomit like plain bagels, toast, or crackers.

I find puking helps. But, I've always been like that so I have no tolerance for nausea. The feeling doesn't go totally away like it does when I have nausea due to a headache. I puke and then all nausea is gone. But, it helps enough that I can get back doing things and be out of bed. Then I can eat and that resolves the issue.

I don't feel like it really helps me because I feel so weak after I vomit. Drained - literally. My eyes tear up, my nose runs and often once I get started I can't stop until there's nothing left and I've got a face full of broken blood vessels.
And I TOTALLY want a popsicle right now, dang it!

It never seems to help me. I can feel nauseous about 5 minutes after I throw up. I am not feeling well now...I don't think I should think anymore about throwing up or I will.

I tend to just feel really gross and gag/dry heave. I usually manage to suppress actually throwing-up.
I am finding that sucking on green olives when I feel particularly gaggy really helps. The brine-y taste overrides the metalic about to throw-up taste.
Not for everyone, I know, but it has worked for me in 3 pregnancies now.

I was just coming on to see what you wise mamas thought, but I wish I had never read that sentence!

I'm only 4.5 weeks, but I feel way sicker than I ever have in any of my 3 pregnancies already. I thought m/s was only supposed to kick in around 5-6 weeks!! I never had even a moment of nausea the last 3 times, and now I feel like I can't even move my head some days or I might start burping and gagging.
