When does the crib expire?

So.. we never actually bough a toddler bed for our 3 year old
and we are using it as a toddler bed with removed front panel.

I just wonder if any of you can tell me for how long usually
one can use crib till kiddo outgrows it?

what is the longest any of your little ones slept in?

I would say as long as he/she fits in it. Weight shouldn't be a problem, those things are built to hold way more than a toddler/small child would ever weigh

Most kids who sleep in cribs usualy graduate to a regular bed around age 3- but then toddler beds (crib sized mattresses on a bed frame) are supposed to fit children up to age 5.

I had a toddler bed as a "spare bed" in my bedroom for a long time, in case one of the girls wanted to join me in my bedroom. My petite girls fit in it quite nicely until age 6 or so- then kept using it even longer by using a 2nd crib mattress (over the one that was already there) that was stretched out and their feet went over the top of the bed frame. I'm not sure when DS would have outgrown it as we gave it away when we moved when he was 3.

It seems like my MIL left the kids in it until they were 4 or 5. My kids could all launch themselves out by a year so hey graduated to a diffrent arrangement.
