Petition demanding insurance for midwives who assist at homebirths

Please sign this petition if you think that midwives who assist at homebirths should be insured for their work. Because sages femmes liberales are currently not insured for homebirths, there is a shortage of independent midwives in France.

I'm afraid my French is not up to par. Is it saying that insurance should be made available or that they should not practice without insurance?

If it's saying that insurance should be made available then of course, yes.

If it is stating that they shouldn't practice without insurance then isn't it eliminating the possibility of them attending home birth? (since there is no insurance available)

In other words. Is this targeted at the insurance companies or the midwifes?

It is saying that insurance should be made available to them! Currently, if a sage femme attends an "accouchement è domicile" (home birth), she is not insured for it. There are therefore few midwives in France who are willing to do home births.
