2yo ds got the mumps

hello all!
some background: i did some studying up (mostly here ) when boo was born and felt that i would prefer to either delay and restrict or completely non-vax boo. my partner and i discussed everything and compromised that we would delay and restrict but get some vaccines that would be useful and or necessary if we were to ever take the kids to visit his side of the family in tibet.
i was getting his series of MMR and polio and he had two in the series then his baby sister was born and we were supposed to get his third in the series the same time we brought chacha in for her first. however, we ended up moving and decided to delay chachas as well until we were more settled.
i am embarassed to admit but it slipped my mind and now boo came down with mumps yesterday and the doctor isn't sure where on earth he would have gotten it from. at the time i forgot about the missed last shot in the series and now it comes to my mind and i am wondering about continuing the vaccines and if he'll have to start from the beginning? for MMR i am not too concerned, but what about polio? does anybody know what happens if you are late (about 9 months) for the last one? sorry if this is a little incoherent, chacha just woke up and needs her "boob"
thank you all

All I can say is that's great! Now he'll have natural immunity to mumps:

Well, my three kids had mumps all at the same time. It is not so serious as to be concerned about and like someone said, now he'll have natural immunity for life. With the shot he would have to get boosters and then he might get it when he is in college, which could be more severe.

I do hope the doctor didn't give him medicine. Because the only thing you can do is to help support the jaw if it is really swollen, give him soft food if he wants some, let him rest a lot and lots of TLC. That's it.

Any vaccine you stop can be restarted ANY time. Sooner or later or not at all. It is not necessary for every single child to have exactly the shots they tell you. The reason why they say it takes 3 (or whatever) is because SOME kids don't get immunity from the first, some don't get immunity from the second either, so they make every child get three. They don't tell you that some kids don't get immunity no matter how many they get.

Same goes for polio or any other infection.

Just take care of the child with mumps now, and do your research before you give any more vaccines. They are dangerous and why bother? As you see, your child had two shots for mumps and still got the mums. And that is a simple infection that last maybe 8 days. A vaccine reaction could last all his life. Don't vaccinate until you are 100% sure that it is safe.
