Midwife is here, I'm just chilling on the internet for a minute...killing a bit of time while DH takes a shower and then we'll break my water...I should be at about a 7 or 8 by now.

She's here! She turned anterior for me, but turned back posterior and I had 2 hours of back labor, but she turned back around and was born in 2-3 pushes. She's 6 lb 10.5 oz, 19 inches, nursed for 1.5 hours upon birth and is just perfect!

So happy for you!

I have to ask how one goes about being at 7-8 cm and sits at a computer!! Wow! I'm totally amazed by that!

LOL. Not much was still really happening at that point...not compared to how it got. I stay right at that 7ish mark until right before she was born. I was freaking out because I was starting to think I was having a really long labor, and I had no breaks between contrax at all. Turns out it was just baby turning (yay!) and a quick transition. With one breath I apparently yelled that the midwife could cut me open with a knife or whatever, just get the baby out, and the next I dropped to my knees and delivered a baby.

Anyway,I am so glad I did this at home. Until the back labor started, I just hung out around the house, and then it was so nice to not have the option of the epi, even though I wanted it soooo badly there for a bit. She's sooo perfect, and so worth every moment of pain, and every moment of misery over the last 8 months (and I'm so glad it's over, too!).

Here's some pics:

Picking her up

No trouble latching on! Oh, and she happened to be born right at the beginning of hotel california, seen in the background! I was attempting to relax with the eagles
