Can anyone refer me to a decent dentist in south London? I'm in Brixton/Herne Hill but don't mind traveling a bit. I'd like someone (ideally) mercury-free, biological/natural, who won't push all sorts of treatments on me. I need to go pretty soon but I don't even know where to start. Last time I just picked out a dentist whose office was nearby and had a bad experience.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

uh, i have no idea. there's a dentist on half moon lane & one on brixton hill that both have posh looking signs... as opposed to the one on stockwell road that looks like they will sedate you & steal your teeth... but i have no idea about mercury-free etc.
i need a dentist too, i have less than a year left of my free dental treatment!

As long as you've started your course of treatment, the dentist will finish it off f.o.c
eta: sorry, that was for Calpurnia and everyone else who has recently sprogged. I've never had problems asking dentists to do mercury-free fillings, though they do make me pay for them.

I'm moving to your 'hood!
KnittinannyI just checked your blog ( and actually now that I read it I'm remembering that I checked it before as well!!) and it looks like we're going to be neighbours ( or pretty close anyhow)
We just put a deposit on a 6 bedroom house in the Tulse Hill area. The house is amazing, just unbelievable! My only teeny bit of reservation about it was the area. I've heard not so good things about that area but then everything I'm reading about it seems to point to it being a groovy little community. Your blog made me feel even better.

We have been in London just 2 1/2 weeks and aren't missing rainy Washington much at all. ( well, missing friends and the mountains but otherwise having a blast!)
Once we get settled we'll have to meet up!

Hey vini, welcome to the hood! I love Tulse Hill/Herne Hill. I think I could have avoided much complaining if I had moved here a while ago.
For a dental update: I went for the posh-signed Half Moon Dental. They were posh and lovely. A
