Holiday cards

What is everyone doing about birth announcements and holiday cards?

It seems silly to send two things to people in several weeks (and expensive). I was going to just find a holiday card that you could insert a photo into with a picture of the boys. (that is what we normally do) and skip the announcement altogether.

I found this card on etsy though..

And thought maybe I could find a regular holiday card with snowflakes and then put this announcement into it??? Make one pic just the baby and one of the two boys or something like that...

what is everyone else doing?

I am sending out announcements in our christmas cards. I have gotten the envelopes done already, so all I have to do is order the photo christmas cards(I usually do the 4x8 ones from Sam's), and I am also going to digitally do a 4x6 announcement and print it as a photo to include with the cards.

I'm going to do separate birth announcements and Christmas cards (but mail them in the same envelope to save money). I usually send a Christmas card with a photo of the whole family, and a Christmas letter (yes I'm one of THOSE annoying people who writes up, ad nauseum, everything we've all done all year - LOL). So I'll also stick announcements in this time. I frame each of the kids' birth announcements & hang them up, so I want her to have her own.

We're doing two separate ones. I'll see if I can get hubby to get me a copy of the birth announcement to post - we do the 4x6 birth announcements and these cost us 62 cents each (42 cent stamp, 10 cents for dollar store envelopes and 10 cents a print). We're also pplanning a baptism, so we'll have that cost on top of Christmas cards, but I manage to do them cheaply!

alleycat, I will probably do what you are doing. I like the one on etsy that you linked. I would prefer to have it all in one.

I'll be doing them separately. We'll send a birth announcement within the week of DC's birth and then we'll send a New Year's card, so there's a little time between.
