I just got back from Whole Foods where I bought DD a rattle made by Green Sprouts. It is supposed to be free of bpa, pvc, and all synthetic or toxic materials. It is hard like plastic and says it is biodegradable and compostable. I decided to read the package more closely to see what it's made from and it says it is made from cornstarch resin. I'm assuming if DD is allergic to corn that this would be a problem?

Tell me that's not the same company that finishes their toys with whey...

Why oh why must toys enter my danger zone list?!?
Grrr... sorry, no advice. Just wanted to vent. And I would assume that yes, if it's a toy that will be chewed on, it could potentially cause problems.

They sell lots of this brand at the Whole Foods I go to, so beware! I guess as companies are looking for non-toxic materials they turn to things like corn and whey that they consider natural. If I didn't know about food allergies I would have thought it was a good thing. But certainly makes it hard for us to protect our babes.
