Would you spend this money?

I am considering selling an old ring that I have no sentimental attachment to. Dh and and I are currently living in an apartment complex that we cannot stand. Our lease is up this week and we were going to renew it because we couldn't afford to move. If I sell the ring, we will have enough to move. I'm not sure what I want to do. I am horribly unhappy with our living situation, but at the same time I feel like it would be foolish to spend the money when we don't absolutely have too.
What would you do?

Personally, I'd spend it. If you're going to sell the ring anyway, and you're that unhappy with where you are I'd just suck it up and spend the money. Living in a place you hate is just not worth it. At least not to me.

Absolutely, I would sell it and move. Being happy where I live is really important to me.

I would move. You don't wear the ring. You don't like where you live. Seems clear to me.

Yep, sell it and move. No brainer for me, but then, I don't get terribly sentimental about 'stuff'.

Your living situation is really, really important. It affects everything else in your life. I would spend the money. Then again, it does not sound like you will be able to sell the ring to have the money and find a new apartment before the deadline for the lease arrives, so it looks like you will be staying put.

I agree with everyone else- sell that ring and move!

I don't think it would be at all foolish to spend the money to get yourself into a better living situation.
