What kind of yarn for a kids weaving loom?

I ordered two of my neices (ages 12 and 5.5) nice wooden weaving looms for Christmas. The looms don't come with any yarn, so I'd like to get them some. I don't have a clue what to buy or how much. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I'd like to get them tactile yarn that will feel good using. I'm thinking rainbow colors... What would you recommend?

I'd get them easily-available stuff, preferably yarns that are on the cheap side so they can restock with yarns they've used already. Bernat has some nice, not too pricey yarns available at Michaels. Among them is a cashmere/acrylic blend that I just want to sit and pet. They've got a bamboo/acrylic blend as well.

And, of course, I am ever a fan of Simply Soft. Wal-Mart now carries Simply Soft Eco; it's a bit more expensive, but it's still quite soft and made from recycled plastic.

I agree. Get the cheap stuff. My dsd has one and thats what we use. The yarn works great and it comes in fabulous colors she loves
