sad socks from ebay :(

I bought several pairs of handknit socks on ebay from one seller. They are gorgeous. I rarely keep anything I knit for myself and I loved the colors so I bid on them and won....and I bought a pair for DH's best friend's birthday as well.

They are knit beautifully!!! BUT the cast on edge is sooooooo tight that I can't slip them on without straining, AND I can't pull them up all of the way. I think she must have use a "knit on" method instead of a long tail or provisional cast on. I cut the cast on edge off of my favorite pair and saved them, and I ruined a pair trying to save them I am hoping she'll take the rest of them back, I'd allready left feedback on some of them though. What do you think?

I'd email her and ask her for a replacement, but if she offers, accept reknitting the cuffs if- and only if-she pays the postage.

Oh, sad! Definitely let her know of the problem. She might have not tried them on, or she might have skinny legs and not noticed.

If she won't replace or refund, try picking out the first 2-3 rows and doing a cast off on the top. I assume these are top down, right? Ugh.
