Was that a balloon popping? Nope, that would be my membranes. What a mess!

Ok ladies! I think most of you know what I've been going through, with the prodromal labor and Muffin suddenly turning posterior on Wednesday. Well it looks like my membranes have finally had it with the stress. Muffin was roughousing, moving a lot, I was laying on my left side trying to rest, trying to let my belly hang so s/he could roll over, and all of a sudden, an audible pop in my right hip. Then a small gush. Followed by more gushes every time the baby moved.

I roll off the bed and splat. Everywhere, all over the hardwood floors. There was so much fluid it soaked the jumbo maxi pad and 1.5 bath towels. OMG that's a lot of fluid.

Contrax not picking up yet, but now I have some lovely pressure in my back. Looks like back labor for me...can I just express a little frustration now?

:

Please everyone pray that my contrax pick up and Muffin turns. I have worked so hard, tried to do everything "right", and now I'm down to this. My chances of transfer to a hospital just escalated quite a bit.

Dh is at work 1.5 hours away from here, and it's raining really bad, so he's nervous, and driving in some terrible weather. I'm worried about him.

Oh Nerdy, you poor poor thing. You posted 4 hours ago, so I hope your DH is there by now, and I wonder how you are doing at this exact minute. Im so happy for you that this is finally IT, and I hope everything goes as close to the way you wanted it as possible. ::

oh dear nerdy, Im thinking of you and my last birth. My water broke and no labor for 24 hrs, and then it was a slow start, back labor big time, baby finaly turned right before making her entry into the world, in all it took 60 hours for my active labor to really begin. Im not writing this to tell you negative stuff, I really just want to let you know that it can be a variation of normal. Your body knows what to do. I know a lot of MW's will transfer after 24 hrs of no active labor, and it's unusual to go that long, Im really hoping your starting already! It's so hard to relax and let the oxytocin flow when your anxious for contx. but do all you can to let go and surrender. My sweet girl's membranes broke @41w and she was born @ 41w3d....just remember they can't MAKE you do anything. You are in my thoughts and prayers today.

oh nerdy, I'll be thinking about you! It sounds like you'll have your baby in your arms soon...you've done absolutely all the prep you can do, and now you just need to release and go with the flow. Easier said than done, I know!

Confidential to Muffin: Please turn around so you're facing mama's back. It will make things a lot easier for her. She loves you a lot and wants to meet you soon!

If you're still reading, sit backwards on the toilet for a while and walk sideways up stairs. You probably already know this.

I'm thinking about you today!!!

I'm thinking what Patchfire said is true. No news is good news! With both of my first births labor picked up fast and furious within an hour or 2 of my water breaking.

With Charlie here, it took longer, but that is really an unusual circumstance.

Come on baby!!!!
