Which one is the better deal?

I'm trying to figure out which is the best deal on syrup...

Trader Joes - 32 fl oz maple syrup:$16.99

Co-op - 1 lb of maple syrup for $9.19

Is a pound equal to 16 fl oz? :

I'm really not an idiot, I just cannot wrap my brain around this...

1 pound = 16 ounces

so TJ's it is!

Actually, according to Google, a gallon of maple syrup weighs about 11 pounds, making it 0.0859 pound per ounce. 32 ounces would weigh 2.75 pounds. The price per pound then would be $9.19 per pound at your co-op, and $6.18 per pound at TJ's. Definitely go with TJ's.

...is where we get ours $20 CAD for 2 liters (67.5 oz). We went there on our honeymoon. Great stuff

A fluid ounce measures volume (fl. oz.), while a dry ounce (oz.) measures weight.

So yes there is a difference that most people never even know or think about.

Awesome job picking that up!

That is awesome. No joke the number 2 maple syrup here is almost 40 dollars for 1 litre. A 500 ml mini jug at the grocery store is 16$. It is just so beyond our means! A family member actually purchased a bottle for the kids when he was here lat time as a birthday present becasue we just can't afford the stuff!

Thanks! I knew there had to be a difference, I'm just too lazy to figure it out. Granted the syrup at the co-op is probably better, maybe even organic, but in these times, I'll go with the cheaper stuff.
