I had my follow up ultrasound today regarding the placenta previa...no luck...the ultrasound showed absolutely no change in the position of the placenta. The edge of the placenta is measuring 0.49CM from the inner cervical os. I am to go for a re-check in 6 weeks but at this point in the opinion of the perinatologist there is very little chance there will be significant enough change to make a natural birth safe.

So sorry, DiD!

Ooops! I carry around my 36 lb 5 year old and my 26 lb 1 year old all the time. Up and down stairs too! And I take my 1 year old to mom & tot gymnastics and do all sorts of lifting and catching of her. :

The tech said it was just a shadow...but I'm not sure if I buy it! Ryland was born with that *exact* hairline, and really dark hair. So I suppose if it isn't hair, it's just ironic as heck! LOL!

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. It must have been so dissapointing for you, but I still hope that something will change!

My skin hates me. It hates the cold, dry weather, the pregnancy and any sort of clothing or water. I wish I could stop bathing! Can anyone help? It's constantly irritated, gets a raised red rash that hurts and is dry. I'm miserable- normally my skin is very well moisturized and smooth- I butter it every day too. I don't know what to do!

I feel your pain Queen of My Castle, ever since I've been pregnant I've been extremely itchy all over. Heat rash on my hips and under my breasts, that for awhile spread all over my torso and onto my arms. I also seem to have eczema on my hands which flairs up whenever I eat tomatoes. They also seem to may my face break out. I've been eating them all my life and never had a problem! At least they are out of season now so i'm not missing out so much, but I do miss spaghetti.

It's bizarre, I never had any skin problems like this before I was PG! I've been rubbing almond oil over everything and bathing frequently which helps a bit, but I've still been scratching madly.

Queen, have you tried using olive oil instead of soap? Makes the bathtub slippery but it is a great cleanser and moisturizer in one.

You might also try Weleda's Calendula cream (baby section, HFS). And maybe a humidifier in your bedroom at night?

I'm sorry your skin is bugging you. Mine is not so much dry as it's still breaking out.

My morning sickness has gotten pretty bad again and I'm back on my heavy duty meds. I'm going today to pick up my new insulin prescription. They've bumped me up to three injections a day. I'm still at 1lb up from pre-pg. I bet with all this insulin the pounds will start piling on! My next appointment is Mon (28wks) and my next u/s is Tues! I can't wait to see my little man again...

Momtoxane: You're such a trooper! You really have had it rough - but it is so worth it in the end!

I'm back from my business trip. It was a short trip and short flights but the whole experience is just exhausting to me now and I felt like I would burst into tears a few times. Plus it is really hard to be away from DH right now - I should be home nesting. Anyway, happy to be home and glad I got to see my parents while I was away. Found out the nursery furntiture we ordered is in so we'll pick it up this weekend! Yay! DH is excited to set it up but I think we'll wait on most of it until after x-mas since we still have a spare bed in that room that will be used over the holidays.

Clovermom, I've gained 27 pounds so far and I'm 28 weeks tomorrow. So, pretty close.

DiD, I'm so sorry that the placenta hasn't moved yet! That picture is so cute though!

Mom to Xane, I'm sorry your morning sickness is so bad again. That really stinks.

Well my hip pain has gotten much worse since yesterday morning, but thank goodness I have a chiro appointment today!!! It REALLY hurts to walk now! I can't wear that belt because it's too tight/itchy and I can't afford a bigger one right now. I wonder if I could find a way to extend the one I have a little-- maybe just buy a small piece of velcro or something . . . hmmm. I have to go grocery shopping today, too, not really looking forward to that! I might drop the boys off with the grandparents while I do that, to make it easier on me with the hip pain and all. Depends if they're available.

I'm sorry DiD! That most be really hard for you to find out.

This morning I'm in a "10 more weeks left???" mood and it's been an easy pregnancy so I don't really have anything to complain about. My hips are hurting and turning over in bed is pretty difficult but otherwise things are going well.

Financially things are very stressful right now and I don't want to think about it so I'm not going to write it all out or I'll start crying.

Thanks for all your support everyone.

Oddly enough, it is a relief to have an answer. The last 6 weeks of not knowing and worrying and wondering have been hell on my family and if this ultrasound had been inconclusive and I had *another* 6 weeks of wondering, I would seriously lose my mind. I finally slept well last night for the first time since our 22 week ultrasound. A c-section is not the end of the world and I am glad that my baby and I are healthy and that I can have a safe birth. I am not holding out any hope that the placenta will change enough before term. It's easier for me that way.

I'm glad that that you feel more peaceful and are sleeping better. Wish I could say as much!

I am in so much pain, have had such a bad day today.

DiD, I think that is a great attitude. Good for you.

Jenivere and LTB, I'm so sorry you're having tough times. Hang in there, mamas. You're not alone.

DiD, I think that's a great attitude to have. Good for you.

I splurged and bought the baby a going home outfit today. I've been washing all the handmedown newborn stuff from Guinevere and realized we really don't have a lot in terms of super warm tiny newborn stuff. So I bought this.

It is soooooo soft and thick and warm, and will probably be huge on her (Winnie's going home outfit was huge too -- I ended up having to go buy some preemie outfits after she was born), but it's adorable and it will work.

Anyway I felt bad, because it was $20 but I justified it by reminding myself I wasn't really buying anything else for her clothes-wise. And it made me grin all the way through Target.

DiD- She's so adorable and REAL, even 6 weeks seems like a long time. Those 3D ultrasounds are amazing!

Nighten- I think every baby should have one new thing. I can barely stand, all of a sudden, making mittens and hats and sweaters for the kids I already have- I just want to make the baby something before s/he's here!

Allyrae-
well, lets just say HE's not satisfied with some doctor telling him Mama can't carry him around any more, and I don't know how to NOT carry a 2 yo. But I'm trying at least to be more conscious of it, and do more cuddling and holding while I'm sitting, instead of keeping him on my hip all the time. I figure that's good anyway- once the baby comes he won't have first pick of being hauled around by me, so we're practicing now. Sort of.
