I dont think anything was ever conclusively proven but if you google you can find a lot of stuff reguarding suspicion that the animals were mistreated (or even killed) and lots of talk about cover ups and redirection.

Milo and Otis was my favorite movie as a kid.I still remember when I watched it for the first time.I was really crazy about animals.My daughter loves it too and watches it while she's cuddling with our Siamese kitty.
I love the them song that plays at the beginning and end.:
There are not many good animal movies out there that I have seen.Most of them are all over computerized.?

My kids adore this movie. It's an old favorite and they are GLUED when they get to see it. They especially love the song. Gonna take a walk outside today...gonna see what we can find today...
