Help me make a mix tape!

We're making a CD of good, sentimental-type music that represents our love for ds. (We're going to put it in a time capsule for ds that we're making for his first b-day - hopefully he will cherish the music someday!)

Can you help us come up with some songs? Think "Gracie" by Ben Folds or "St. Judy's Comet" by Paul Simon.

TIA!

FUN! We have Imagine by John Lennon on ours because it's the first song we ever played for DS

We also like Still Fighting It by Ben Folds but it's somewhat of a downer... My DP is a singer/songwriter though and he loves to play Ben Folds at home and it's so sweet when he plays that one... I often cry.

Lullaby by the Dixie Chicks : shhhhhh

OH OH OH! First Day of My Life by Bright Eyes. Yeah, that one is FANTASTIC!

I'll keep thinking and come back when my brain is working better!

I love the song, Constant as the Stars Above (definitely the best for what you're looking for I think) from the Barbie as Rapunzel movie.

Also There Can Be Miracles

and The River Lullaby are pretty good too.

Red Right Ankle by The Decemberists reminds me so much of dd!!!

This is the story of your red right ankle
And how it came to meet your leg
And how the muscle, bone, and sinews tangled
And how the skin was softly shed

And how it whispered “Oh, adhere to me
For we are bound by symmetry
And whatever differences our lives have been
We together make a limb.”
This is the story of your red right ankle.

This is the story of your gypsy uncle
You never knew ‘cause he was dead
And how his face was carved and rift with wrinkles
In the picture in your head.

And remember how you found the key
To his hide-out in the Pyrenees
But you wanted to keep his secret safe
So you threw the key away.
This is the story of your gypsy uncle.

This is the story of the boys who loved you
Who love you now and loved you then
And some were sweet, some were cold and snuffed you
And some just laid around in bed.

Some had crumbled you straight to your knees
Did it cruel, did it tenderly
Some had crawled their way into your heart
To rend your ventricles apart
This is the story of the boys who loved you
This is the story of your red right ankle.

I'm SO glad you liked the Bright Eyes song They're my favorite band. Well... one of many but I'm obsessive about Bright Eyes.

I thought of another one for you that I think you'll really like for this purpose: Do You Realize by The Flaming Lips.

LMK how you like that one!
