First-time mother, though I was a "second mother" to most of my 11 siblings (I'm the oldest). I was raised in a patriarchal (dad = absolute authority), controlling, cult-like home where the only consequence to everything was SPANK. Looking forward (with some trepidation since I've never known anything like this!) to raising my child with love and grace. What I've seen of "attachment parenting" has excited me. |
