Awful car seat!!!

Posted

Pros: Affordable

Cons: Straps twist evenly, don't tighten evenly, seat is hard to snap into the base

Don't waste your money on this carseat. The straps twist constantly and both shoulder straps don't tighten evenly. The straps are very hard to re-thread when you need to move them up a notch and the base is diffucult to snap into the base as well. The fabric seat liner has been easy to spot clean when my son has gotten spit up on it, but that's about the only positive thing I can think of with this seat. It's one of the cheaper infant seats out there, but next time I will be putting aside a little more money to buy a better quality seat.

Great travel changing pad for hard surfaces

Posted

Pros: Very cozy cover and soft pad insert

Cons: Not very long

I bought this to use as a travel changing pad at my parents home as they have tile throughout their house and didn't want baby to lie on a cold hard floor when I was changing him. This changing pad has served it's purpose wonderfully. The pad is a very soft foam and almost feels like memory foam when it's in the cover. The foam piece is easily removable through a zipper pouch and the cover easily cleans in the washing machine, and the whole pad rolls up and ties toegther easily for travel use. I do wish it was longer, though. My son is close to 29 inches long and his torso and half of his head fit on the pad with his legs hanging off at this point.

You get what you pay for

Pros: sturdy construction

Cons: The white paint chips off easily

I bought this stool to make learning to nurse my new baby comfortable since I have very short legs. I chose this stool on a whim since it was the cheapest in the store as well. The stool raises my knees to the perfect level to be able to easily rest my son in my lap to nurse him. It's a sturdy little stool and I have stood on it more than once without worry of it falling apart. You do have to assemble the pieces, but it is very easy to put together. I am dissappointed that the paint on the stool is starting to chip off after only 8 months of use, but it was also inexpensive compared to the other nursing stools I found.

Not cloth diaper-friendly!

Posted

Pros: Includes detachable changing pad/ bag is waterproof

Cons: Not big enough for diapers and gear

I received this bag as a gift from a family member..... if I would not feel bad about getting rid of such an expensive gift, I probably would have sent it to the consignment shop by now because the cute factor is much higher than the practicality factor with this product. I do really like that there is a very padded detachable changing mat included with the bag and that it it's made of the water-proof "glazed" material. It is not very big at all though. I can only fit 2 prefolds, 2 PUL covers, a small wetbag, a handfull of cloth wipes and a small toy or two (think Sophie the giraffe) in the main compartment of the bag. The bag does also have two small side pockets, a back...

Don't clean very well at all!

Posted

Pros: Convenient product

Cons: They don't perform well at all

I bought a box of these prior to returning to work thinking they would help cut down on the time it took to clean my pump parts and baby bottles at the end of a long day. I did not have luck with these at all! The instructions recommend a few different "cook" times on the microwave depending on the power setting on the microwave and also a set amount of water to add into the bag along with your pump parts to create steam. I even tried playing around with microwaving at the different temperature settings recommended in the instructions and using more water (thinking it might create more steam and therefore clean things better) but each time I tried to clean my pump parts...

Best vegan-friendly nipple salve!

Posted

Pros: Vegan-certified, clinically tested, zero toxins!

Cons: Pricey product

I bought this product prior to my son being born and have been very happy with it. This nipple salve was the only vegan-friendly nipple salve I could find... it's lanolin-free and would be great for any moms and babes with sensitivities to this ingredient. It worked great during the first week or so of nursing my first born when my breasts were getting accustomed to being used practically! A pea-sized dab rubbed into each nipple after every feeding kept my nipples soothed and soft during this transition time. Like all of the other Earth Mama Angel Baby products, this salve is rated zero on the EWG "Skin Deep Database" which is so important when being applied to the parts of my...

Best soft sided carrier for the money

Posted

Pros: Infant insert included with carrier/ fits great on larger frames

Cons: can be difficult to adjust without assistance

We purchased this carrier to use with my son who is now 9 mos. and bought it when he was 3 mos. old. My husband and I had the chance to try both this carrier and an Ergo out with our son in it at a local store, and this one was a much better fit for us. It literally fit my husband and I better than the Ergo- we're both around 5'5 (dh is 5'6) and dh and are both on the heavier side with dh being 250. The Beco straps are wide enough for us to be comfortable. I do wish it was easier to adjust, though. I am unable to adjust it myself when I wear it and need the help of another person to loosen or tighten the straps. I also LOVE that the infant insert was included with the carrier and that...

Great product to use after birth

Posted
I used this product in the two weeks following ds' birth. I had fourth degree tearing and stitches that led to some uncomfortable times post partum. I would use this spray after using my peri squirt bottle after using the bathroom. It really helped soothe and cool the area where my stitches was after using the ladies room and had none of the funky chemicals that were in the soothing wipes that the hospital gave me.

Great product for diaper rash

Posted
We use this balm on ds when he has diaper rash and it has always cleared it up. DS typically has gotten a really nasty rash when he's teething and I have been pleasantly surprised by how quickly it clears up the irritation, no matter how bad the rash is. I love that the balm is cloth diaper friendly, vegan, and has a zero rating on the Environmental Working Group's toxic list- all very important factors for us when we were looking for a product to soothe our son's bottom with. The salve is pricy but lasts forever. We are just finishing up the jar we received eight months ago when ds was born and plan to buy more of this product!

Head to toe baby wash

Posted
We use this wash on ds and have since he was born. We only use it once a week or so, and so far it has worked wonderfully to clean him since he sweats very easily and alot for such a little guy.... and has not dried out his skin. I love that EMAB products are vegan and all rank zero on the Environmental Working Group toxins list (two very important factors for me when buying products to use on my kiddo.) I do wish it was a bit less expensive- I have found the product to be in the $10 range no matter where I have purchased it from. The soap comes out of a pump and the bottle does go a long way though.
