Free Wool Diaper Cover Pattern

I've posted a new, free wool diaper cover pattern on my blog (www.cyborgoddess.prettyposies.com). This is the perfect wrap for people who use prefolds. If you are new to knitting, this pattern is worked back and forth so you don't need to use circular needles, if you've made a pattern or two and just getting the feel of knitting, this pattern lets you try out a few new things.

What does slipping every other stitch purlwise on every other row on the borders do? (I love reasoning & logistics :D)

Slip stitches in this fashion make the fabric much tighter and will hold buttons better. Plus, I just love the look of the pattern!

What does slipping every other stitch mean ? I know how to purl, but I don't know what this means. I would love to try your pattern, but I am still a beginner. Thanks for posting it, I am going to try it anyway.
