Hi mama's it feels like I have been away from this board for a long time when it was just a week  I found myself wondering who had appointments and if anyone found out the sex while I was gone LOL. Glad to see everyone is well. Our thanks giving was pretty good. Dh got to see his dad before he set off for Iraq for 18 months . Just crazy I tell ya. I am now in the christmas Spirit I got all my christmas cards filled out today and went and got some paper to wrap presents in. I am gonna do some of it tonight. WOOHOO. I have my appointment on the 11th I am really looking forward to it. I have felt this little one move nostop it seems like. Dh can really fell him or her move as well. I think its a boy just because of where I feel this one move and kick . With the girls it always was higher up and this one seems to be kicking or moving around my pubic bone so its very low. We will see in a week or so I suppose! Well I better get going on the wrapping. I hope you are all well and had a wonderful turkey day! Take care mama's.. Christy

We had a great Thanksgiving too. I wasn't sure if we'd be able to have it or not.
the Monday before I triped and fell in the living room right on the rim of the laundry basket, right on my stomach! It broke and I landed FLAT on the floor. I was in so much pain! I called my midwife, and I thought they were just going to check the heartbeat but they ended up admiting me for observation. Everything seems to be fine, but man was I sore forever, I'm just now getting back to normal. I felt like I'd been hit by a truck!

Hi everyone- Glad to see the holidays were nice.
Bellafinn-sorry about your fall. I can imagine how frightening that was.
Christina-Congrats on your 3rd girl! That's great news.
As much as I'd love a boy or girl, a girl would be so much easier clothing wise. I'm going to have to go through all of the clothes I have in a couple of months and get all of the neutral stuff out. If it's a boy, we'll be sending out our relatives to do some shopping for us post partum!
Lots of kicking here all day long. I feel it's a boy because of where I feel the kicking, too. It's very low and straight across. I carried dd veritcal most of the pregnancy. My belly is already so big, I'm starting to wonder how I'm going to make it 20 more weeks or longer!!! I'm going to start belly dancing classes tomorrow so I hope that will take some of the pressure of my pelvic area.

hello again ladies. I feel like I have been away forever. Between Thanksgiving and after thanksgiving shopping I haven't even been near the computer in over a week. We are still working on potty training Ds but it isn't exactly going well. Lets just say he has a lot of accidents. We still have to get family pictures done for Christmas. I know my Grandma will love getting a picture of the three of us, especially with me obviously pregnant. I also need to get going with the gift wrapping. I haven't even finished shopping for Dh yet. He is really hard to find gifts for this year.
Bellafinn sorry about your fall. I hope you get to feeling better soon.
Squishy congrats on your little girl.
I went to the midwife on monday, My appointment was acctually last Wednesday, but when i got to the office my midwife was out delivering babies, and no one had bothered to call and let me know. So I spent 45 minutes in holiday traffic for nothing.:splat But I don't mind so much now. My midwife says I am gaining just fine, not to much not to little, and the babies hear beat sounds really good and man is he/she active. Talk about kicking up a storm. I get to have an ultrasound a week from tommorow, so I will hopefully know the gender soon. I can't wait to see the little one in there. You know put a face with the feet LOL. I've been having alot of pelvic and back pain though. I don't know how I am going to make another twenty weeks of this. Especially if it gets worse. I picked up some prenatal yoga tape, and I am just hoping I will have time to try it out soon. Hopefully it will help take some of the pressure off of my pelvis and back. I look like I am carrying this baby high like I did with Ds, but I definately feel the baby lower in my pelvis. I don't know what that might mean.
Well I betetr go. Ds just woke up and he needs to get to the potty quick. CHat later.:wave

hi all!
cannot imagine how big I will be in 4 more months- Im a little concerned. I am huge. I am heavy- it is hard to get out of the tub, hard to roll over in bed and get comfy, hard to bend over. I think I look extremely pregnant. How can the biggest growing part be in the future?????:eek Im afraid I might pop:jaw
christymama
12-04-2003, 10:11 AM
:LOL coco. :LOL I know what your feeling. This is my third one and I really popped out alot sooner then the other two. I have gained it all in the belly though . I have gained 3 pounds so far. Which is ok i suppose. they dont seem to be worried for baby is doing fine. With my first one I gained ALOT and it came on FAST. Second one i showed sooner but gained less and this time it seems to be going the same. Maybe you will slow down towards the end. I know some moms that do that. :) I know it is hard to get comfy when sleeping or hurts to get up. I was telling dh that this has to be a boy for the way i am carrying > I am only 5'3 and so i am short and with the girls I was pretty high up. Not this one I am super low and i am afraid I will be either moving around in a wheel chair or on bed rest for I wont be able to walk when this one drops LOL. I cant imagin. I think tall people get all the breaks lol:p just seems harder to carry low and being short lol. go figure. I am getting so excited about my dr appt it seems like it has been forever since i have been. I get my U/s and that is gonna be exciting for the little one will look like a baby :) I cant wait to start shopping. I havent gotten a darn thing for this baby yet. If it is a boy we need everything. Heck if it is a girl we still need everything I thought I was done after dd#2 :) well i better get going I hope all is well you all you mama's take care.

bumping back to the first page ... but i do have a question any of you woried about this nasty flu virus going around? what do ya all think anyone get that darn flu shot i havent. just need some thoughts
lovelee

Re: flu
I won't be getting the flu shot for anyone in my family. Dh and I were talking about this just last night as I have a friend and she, her husband and two young children all have the "bad" one. I am concerned about it but I think that we will just buckle back down on our diet (eliminating dairy, increase citrus fruits and veggies, increase whole greains, and water intake, maybe start juicing again) and start taking some supplements, and in all honesty I'm going to definitely cut back on play groups and contact with sick children as much as possible. I'm not going to live in a bubble, but I'm not going to ask for the flu either. I especially don't want it while being pregnant.
Dh works at a college so he is around it alot, and so I really want him to take extra precautions!
christymama
12-05-2003, 09:36 AM
i know what you mean bellafinn. Dh is a state cop so he is around all kinds of people from all over the US. So its a bit scary. With my dd#1 she is in school and you just never know. She has been batteling a cough she gets every year:rolleyes: and a bit of a stuffy nose. I just worry she is more inclined for this flu then a more healthy child. DD#2 and I never leave the house so I am not worried about that . :) We to arent going to be getting it( the shot). I have never had one so I dont think I will start right now. I seen on the news last night that a 5 year old boy from here has died( Arizona) but they said he was sick before he left for a gathering for the holidays out of town and died while out of town wiht the flu bug? It all just seems very strange to me. They also said that 3 other of his family members are int eh hospital. from this virus. Anyhow. If it isnt sars or west nile it something else huh.
I cant believe I am coming up on my 22nd week. It seems to be really rolling along now. I just cant wait for my ultrasound. I am so darn excited. I got some coupons in the mail from target. They gave me one thats like 15 bucks off a breastpump. I need one and so i think I am gonna get that. There is also one for 10 off a boucey seat and 3$ and 2$ off advent bottles .. I am going to be breastfeeding and pumping so dh will get to feed as well. So these are all things i need. I will get them on Thursday. I am super excited. Well I better get going I hope all is well. Time to jump in the shower while dd#2 is occupied. :) take care. Christy

TWENTY WEEKS TODAY!!!! Can you tell I'm excited. I finally made it halfway there.:thumb
I am definately getting bigger. My midwife says I am gaining just what I should, but I feel huge. But at the same time I can't wait to get bigger. My back is killing me though, and I know what you mean about not being able to get comfortable at night. Plus I am still getting up every few hours to go pee. I thought that was suposed to let up during the second trimester? I guess drinking ten glasses of water a day doesn't help any though.
We won't be getting the flu shot, but then I don't get vaccines at all, and I have stopped getting them for Ds. Acctually the flu that is hitting our area the hardest isn't even one of the three that is covered by this years shot. CDC officials are still recomending that everyone get the shot because it will lessen the effects of the flu. Yeah right...I just don't think they want to admit that they screwed up. Besides how would an immunity to one form of the flu lessen the affects of another? But then I am lucky and I don't ever get the flu. I just get massive sinus infections unfortunately there really is no way to prevent those other than moving out of Tx.
Well I better go I have a dinner to finish.

Congrats Iris0110-
I'm 21 weeks myself today.
The flu seems to be hitting hard around here. I don't really get it either. We don't vax at all and the flu shot is one that I could never stand behind. I had it once years ago and I've never been so sick in my life and I gave it to other people. I think we have to remember that the media loves to hype it up and make it as bad as it can be. As a former member of the media, I can honestly tell you that's what it's all about.
Is everyone getting some cold weather. We are here. It's making me want to eat junk food so I need to work on that. I do not need to gain a ton of weight.
Iris-I pee non-stop at night. I'm so tired of getting up. Fortunately, dd has been sleeping in with me until 9 or 10 so it makes up for it. The problem is that I know it's going to be this way until I give birth because the baby is already so big that the pressure on my bladder is going to continue. I'll chalk it up to one of those things I forgot about when I had the baby fever and was TTC!!! Have a good weekend everyone!

We've never had the flu here ( knock on wood) I agree its alot of the Media Hype. Sad really dont you agree?
It is chilly here. I mean its not cold like it is where some of you are But its chilly for us. Right now its 80 but our 80 degree isnt like most of yours. Its jean weather and jacket and I have my heat on. I guess its from being So high in the Mountains. But at night it gets in the 30's later on it will get in the lower 20's to mid teens That will Suck:rolleyes:
My belly has been so Itchy it is driving me nuts. I know its all the skin streching and pulling because of how and where I am carrying.:eek
I still get up to pee at night at least once. But I have to go as soon as I wake up because i will pop if I dont.

12-07-2003, 10:41 AM
 UGH dd#2 woke up with a stopped up nose and a cough. She said her left ear hurt when i asked if anything hurts. I need to get some elderberry . We have been out for awhile. Been giving the vitamins. Dh came home last night form work and said his head is killing him that it feels like his eyes are gonna pop out :eek I am hoping this all just a cold due to change of weather here. it was in the 60's then the 80's now its int he 50s for the high and cold at night. So UGHH!!!!!!!!!!:splat I just dont like this flu going around. Last night they said that there were 3 people dead form it in our state a child then two elderly people. They said there are 4 other deaths they arent sure of yet it could be from the flu. I guess the news is getting to me. I dont like it. I just dont see how healthy people can die from somethign like this with out a medical condition ya know. Just seems strange to me. Well enough of all that..
Baby moving like a mad man lol. still so so low. the girls were feeling him kicking ( still think its a he will find out thursday)! it was so cute. no hiding being pregnant now huh lol. well I better get going I need to eat something. talk to you mama's soon hope your all well:wave

I was going to mention the homeopathic remedy: oscillococcinum. It seems to be very effective at treating the flu, but it MUST be taken in the first few hours after symptoms start and then repeated when improvement stops. It may also be taken if/when you know you have been exposed to the flu but are not displaying symptoms yet. Despite what the box says you do not need to take an entire vial at every dosing. Only a couple of pellets are needed (they are VERY small).

Hi everyone. I have not been on for a while either. My ds is comming down w/ something as well, although he insists that he's fine, lol! He's sounding kind of hoarse, so daddy brought him home some popsciles today.
This baby is very active! I have not had another u/s and don't know if I will, so I probably won't find out the sex although we'd like to. All throughout this pg I've had a strong feeling that its a girl, BUT then just last week I had a dream that I was going for a u/s and we found out the baby was a boy! LOL... now I don't know what to think! My mom was here visiting and bought us several 'smaller' items that will come in handy for the new baby!
coco - You can update me on the list, as I've decided to have a repeat c-section. It will be done aprox. 10 days before my due date. I will let you know when the date is picked.

Well DD#2 woke up this morning with a nasty croupy cough. She has some rapsy nosies coming out of her in her chest when she breaths. So we are going to the dr today at 130. , I am trying not to give in to fears of that stupid flu, but its so hard not to ya know. Shes never been sick. except for once. when she was about 1 but thats it. So im a bit freaked I rather go to the dr and him tell me im a idoit then not go and something be wronge with her. Well so thats the news front here. Baby wise the little tyke is on the move. LOL i think he is trying to move somewhere else cause i had alot of movement and some hard kicks here and there. So far the kicks hadnt been so hard until he was trying to move. Maybe he knows i have a U/S on thursday and wants us to get his best side :LOL
iris0110
12-08-2003, 03:12 PM
Christymama, We have our U/S's on the same day. I'm just hoping the baby will be kind enough to cooperate. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you as well.
No one has been sick around here. Except for Ds's usual allergy problems. I've got a bit of a headache and Backache, but I am fairly certain I know where those are coming from. I must say this pregnancy is totaly different from my first. I've developed these weird red bumps on my stomach. They are little tiny and kind of remind me of heat rash, but not quite. They are most numerous around where I have stretch marks from my last pregnancy. My skin itches some too. I've been using coco butter to soothe it.
The weather here has been really eraddic. Today it is in the 70's, but tommorow it is only supposed to be 43. Tx weather can be so weird. I think that is what is upsetting Ds's allergies so badly I know it is getting to me as well.
The baby is kicking up a storm, and even managing to wake me up at night sometimes. I can definately feel the kicks from the outside now. Dh still has a hard time feeling them though.
Well Ds is back up from his nap so I better get going.:wave

12-08-2003, 03:49 PM
well just got back from the dr. I hate going in there because you know its all just sick people!:( But he said dd#2 sounds and looks like she has the common cold and she has fluid building up in hee ear that she said hurt. But has no fever? He gave us Amoxicillian but i am not sure if i am gonna give it to her. He said with the flu to watch for body aches headaches fever and hard to breath with kids. He told me I could come back in a week and get the shot for her but I dont think we will be going down that route. :p Thursday when we get paid going to the natural food stores and getting some Elderberry and some other things and we will go that way instead of the shot.
Arent you excited for thursday Iris?? I am Soo excited. Tomorrow I will also be 22 weeks. hoping your little one keeps them wide open if you wanna know the sex LOL. Hoping mine will too. Well I better get going talk to you later:wave

Ah, well, it's yet another boy. I love it :love. I was disappointed for a very brief split second, but right after the disappointment was glee. I'm glad my little girl will remain the only one as she is the most difficult of all my children. Adam will be arriving by c-section on April hmmm... I think something about mid April. My doc won't do a VBAC after two C-sections...Sigh. That's all right with me. This will be my last babe and I am having a tubal ligation after this one, so a c-section will be a bit easier, so to speak..... There are days, like the last couple, where I just feel like I am so overwhelmed with four kids, how on Earth can I handle a fifth... But I do remind myself that human beings are extremely adaptable and if I can handle twins, I can handle one babe.... Good luck to all... Sorry it took me so long to get back to you... I've got baby fever, tho and am looking for baby stuff. I can't wait to afford it. Next month. Soon. Diapers, baby gear, the whole nine yards. At that point, we'll have hit viability and it will be okay then. My mom imparted a superstition in me that you never go shopping for a babe untill about 6.5 months or so. So, there we are. January it is. I'll be beginning my seventh month of pg and beginning a new semester of school Fun for all concerned. This will be the best educated newborn on the face of this Earth. He'll have learned Developmental Psych, Ethical Theory, Abnormal Psychology, and Psychology and Health. What a man!!!! :diaper
Hope to be seeing all of you soon in one way or another...
Take care
Peace, joy and love to you all this season...Well, heck, all seasons.

Goodwillhunter congrats on your little boy. Your dd will be the only girl. I think its neat. At least you have some experience with boys. Here on our homefront I have no clue what to expect. I have two daughters. This will surely change things in our household :LOL
Thanks Squishy We are pretty excited. Its strange how you just know these things before they are "confirmed" ya know what i mean. I knew with the girls they were girls. I just knew they were. Noone ever believes me lol I think a mother knows. :love I have heard over and over you carry so much differently with boys and then you also gain more weight . Well I have found the weight one not true so far. I have gained a total of 4 pounds this whole pregnancy. When they weighed me this week I had gained 6 oz since the last appt 4 weeks ago So i dont think that is so true about boys and weight gain. I dont know maybe it has to do wiht me being older this time  With the first one I gained like 70 pounds then with the second I gained about 25-30 and this one so far is 4 lol I am sure it will start to come on more and more as the weeks go by But i am guessing i will gain about20 pound with the way things are moving along. WHICH IS FINE BY ME. the less i have to worry about after hes here. :) Well I have rambled on enough. Take care mamas.:wave

Its a GIRL!!!!!:fairy I just knew it, but my DH kept telling me it was because I wanted a girl so badly. So we will be welcoming Arawyn Lorraine at the end of April.
Unfortunately the ultrasound came with some bad news as well. Aparently their is a build up of fluid in her kidneys. THe ultrasound technician and my midwife assured me that it is probably nothing, but we will be seeing a perinatalogist to make sure. I just wish I had more information now. I am worried about what fluid retention may mean not only for my pregnancy but for my baby after she is born. I know there is no use in worring until we are sure there is something to worry about, but it is hard not knowing. Has anyone else had this during a pregnancy?
CHristymama Congrats on your boy. It is a whole new world I promise, but little boys are really fun. YOu just have to get the hang of changing a diaper without getting peed on.:p With Ds I gained 70 pounds, but I really didn't start gaining alot until I was 6 months pregnant don't be to sure you are going to get away with out gaining much just yet.
Well I better get going Ds is up from his nap and I need to start dinner.

love2all - Welcome!
Christymama - Congrats on your little boy! How exciting!
iris - I'm glad you got your girl and that your feeling was right! Have fun buying some pink!
Goodwill - Another boy! Yea!!! Boys are so awesome!
I'm kinda jealous of all of you finding out the sex of your babies! Anyone else going to be surprised? I still may get a u/s for some reason, and if I do we will probably find out but if I don't then we will be surprised! With my ds we wanted to know but weren't able to find out. This time I really think its a girl, but we'll see.
We've been keeping busy here. I made a ton of Christmas cookies today and we also went shopping. My dh is getting ready for his trip to SD for a job interview! My ds and I are just getting over a cold, I sure hope we stay healthy the rest of the season! I hope all of you are doing well! Talk to you later.

You know, Christy, you are the best replier that I have ever seen! You seem to remember everyone! Congrats on your wee boy. All I can say is, boys are like firemen...when they go, you better watch out!!!! :LOL I remember DH getting peed on in the face. It was too too funny. I told him to cover the willy up.... Sigh. Men, they never will listen. I like DD being the only girl That way, we can go out and do girly things like getting pedicures and facials when she gets older. Now, we do those things at home... :love

Christymama, We actually have two dogs, four cats, three goldfish and a turtle. Can you tell we like animals? Ds is angling for a hamster, but I told him he has to wait till he is a little older. I am afraid he would squeze the poor thing to death now.
I have an appointment with the perinatalogist on the 23rd. I'm really nervous. I don't know what kind of exam it is, but I am guessing 3D ultrasound. I wonder if I have to drink a bunch of water right before it?
I have an awful case of pregnancy brain today. I locked my keys in the car when I got to work this morning and wound up having to call my husband to come and rescue me. It was really sad. I've never locked myself out of the car before. Now Dh has to work late tonight to make up for the extra long lunch he had to take to unlock my car for me. At least we got to stop and have lunch together though. Ds was thrilled, he got to stay and play longer at work, and then he got to have popcorn chicken for lunch. This has been his favorite day yet. :LOL I have got to pay more attention to what I am doing. For now I am going to blame the hormones.
