I know I'm not crazy. I'm a little dissappointed that I"m leaving the birthing center but I'm doing it for the right reasons.

I'm thinking about going to te OB my doula uses (she has had 4 vbacs and going on 5). She praises him highly (incidently, she also left the mw I'm with currently) and the hospital he uses. She said that the nurses are very very vbac and natural birth friendsly and they know how to stand back and let a mom work.

I have some ideas of questions but how do I get a good feel for this guy in so short a time?

Trust your intuition...

Make a half hour or an hour for yourself each day and just focus on your breathing and meditate and clear your mind and then ask yourself the question what is the best thing I can do for my family and this new baby? Pay attention to the first things that come into your mind. Write them down so you'll remember. Talk to your partner. See what questions come up for you.

A mama's intuition is a most powerful thing, I've learned. Take advantage of it.

I switched providers at 36 weeks with my last pregnancy. I had been worrying about it THE WHOLE PREGNANCY, then, bam, I just did it. And guess what? I got the perfect exact birth I wanted. It was fulfilling and awesome. I think the real reason for that is not that I had the "right" provider...I actually think that had little to do with it. I think it's because by following what my body and mind were screaming at me to do, I was stronger and more confident going into the birth. I addressed my fears directly with the providers and had a firm, detailed birthplan. I did get some heat from the first provider, but just the fact that I listened to myself and everything exceeded my expectations was a huge mommy boost. I was on a high for months from it. TRUST YOUR INSTINCTS. Everytime I haven't, I've been burned. (Or worse, my kids have :( )
