I just tried knitting a soaker keychain. All I can say is, if someone decides to do keychain soakers, don't use worsted! Makes for one UGGLEE little soaker! :LOL

Toothpicks would have made it easier - I wish I had some!
There's NO WAY I could have put cuffs on this thing!

Okay, it's seriously a sickness that I'm sitting here, thinking of using the baby weight yarn and size 2 needles I have to try to knit up a tiny little soaker... :LOL

Oh, and pictures of knitting with toothpicks would be 'educational' as well! :bgbounce :rotflmao :LOL

FYI you can use a size 000 needle and it works great. Mine I have made were about 1.5 in tall. If my arthritis would allow me I would make some for MDC but alas my hands are killing me.

Do you mean like this? (http://fernandfaerie.com/minisoaker2.JPG)
The one on the right is the ugly worsted soaker :LOL
(Disclaimer: I do NOT knit for a living, and this picture would not be appropriately moved to the sewing/crafts board because nobody there asked to see a teeny-tiny soaker)

LOL I wrote that before I saw that you HAD volunteered to make some. How wonderful!!!!
The bitty diapers really do take away from my piddling on the computer time! It is mainly those tiny doublers that get me, I keep loosing them if you breathe too heavy! :LOL

I KNOW that has to be a language that is NOT OF this earth! :LOL
Okay, get out your :tomato and get ready to :cuss at me . . . moving this thread to Sewing and Crafts, because contrary to mehndi mama's disclaimer - which is too funny - :LOL this thread has evolved into a S&A thread:
this picture would not be appropriately moved to the sewing/crafts board because nobody there asked to see a teeny-tiny soaker
There will be a redirect here . . . no one will miss this thread . . . everyone can still make there way . . . look for a banner or new release in the TP any day for the next round of diaper key chains and then, in a few days . . . SOAKER key chains - anyone have a fiver they can loan me? :LOL j/j

Hey thanks Marni!!! :love I will definately try some. I really need to finish my Christmas knitting first though. Maybe after the holidays if I can make soaker keychains and have them look nice like yours I can donate them to MDC too. :)

I'd knit one too except I have a pair of soaker pants with 1 and a half legs and I want to finish that before Christmas... as well as the one mitten for dh that needs a mate... :LOL
How do you mamas find time?

I split these posts from the other keychain thread and am moving this over to Sewing anc Crafts. This is probably valuable for the archives over there and these posts rightly belong in that forum. There will be a redirect in Diapering.

I made one! :D It's not done.. I still have to seam it, but it's SOO cute. And it matches the longies I made for my DD, so I'm happy! :LOL Thanks for the directions, Marnie! I adjusted them a little to accomodate my smaller needles, since I don't have any size 3s, and it worked out great. :D

somewhat the same but I have made them for awhile now so I had my own instructions. Tiny soaker (http://www.flicker-n-suds.com/fpdb/images/soakerkeychaincrop.jpg)
Here you go. I knew i had this picture somewhere. I think this set is already owned by a MDC momma?? It was sent out awhile ago at least and I thought it went to someone here.
Pants and soaker set (http://www.flicker-n-suds.com/fpdb/images/keychainpair.jpg)
If anyone wants some instructions LMK and I will type them out. I just knit to eye for them.

That's one LOOWWWW rise pair of pants there, Sherry! :LOL

12-12-2003, 11:35 AM
actually it scanned looking kinda off. They are in scale with the pants I make and they are on the high rise.
I have made so many of these things in the past few months. It is a great way to use up extra yarn. I have made sweater ones too. I love micro knitting it just kills my hands.
