Since two days before Christmas, Dd has napped only one day, and not for very long. And she's up at night, so I'm soooo tired. Because I don't nap if she doesn't.
She's 28 months, has napped well, was napping 1-2 hours starting around 1PM after lunch. We lie down and she nurses to sleep. It was heavenly, since I fall asleep after she does. I attributed the change to excitement with a change in routine with Dad on Christmas vacation. They've been spending a lot of time together. But the past 2 days I've had a more regular day and still, trouble.
Another thing is that except for a lapse after the flu, she is pretty much in panties using the toilet during the day, and naps are interrupted by requests to visit the bathroom. She has several pooper alarms, with nothing, I think she knows that's a sure way to get me out of bed.
She goes to bed earlier when she hasn't napped, but it's hard for us all to get her together for sleep on an earlier schedule (since it's about 90 minutes from bath to lights out, I would have to eliminate dinner with Dh to get her all set in time, not something I'm willing to give up), and she's of course less well humored in the evening.
She slept all night without nursing for almost 2 weeks in November. Then we got the flu between Thanksgiving and Christmas. She wasn't severely affected but her sleep got lighter, and it's just starting to feel like it's more solid with less nighttime interruption.
Is this the end of naps? I still plan an after lunch quiet time. Dd is willing to play in the bedroom while I rest. But I can't fall asleep, not that I think I should even though the room is well baby proofed.
I am tired, and all my time to relax is gone, because I'm either playing possum trying to give her the hint, or too exhausted to move! Is there hope that this is just a stage and happy naps will return????
