Just wondering how old your co-sleepers were when they wanted their own rooms and own beds. I am a single mom of a 2 1/2 ds, still BF and Co-sleeping and plan to do it as long as ds needs and wants to.
Thanks,
Sweet Dreams,

My son is 9 and still co-sleeps.
He has his own room. Has had one since he was about 4. This does not mean he slept in it (he did for a while but our building was hit by a car and that was the end of that). Now he moves back and forth. As does his 5 year old sister.
IMO, It is nice to get a room set up for the child to have thier own space. Some place for them to retreat to when THEY decide to.
Some place to play or have a momment of solitude.

My ds is 2 and will decide on her own when she is ready. The decision should be hers.

Ummmm, when he gets married his wife might not want to sleep with you...:LOL Seriously, I think as long as both of you are happy, it's fine. I say let the child decide, as long as the parent(s) are comfortable :)

I would never say it was inappropriate, per se, but I think there is a point when I would feel uncomforable having a child full time in my bed.
Honestly, I would be very uncomfortable having a teen age boy having wet dreams in *my* bed. I'd be good having him come in and snuggle in the morning or something, that is just *too* close for me.
Also, just logistically, even with a king bed I wouldn't want four adult sized people in there. We are nice and snuggly with DH, I, DD (4) and DS (2) but couldn't imagine being comfortable with DH, I, DD (17) and DS (15) in 13 years. Honestly, though, I just don't think that will be an issue, :LOL

DS#1 will be 6 soon b'e'h, and while he occasionally talks about sleeping in his own space (not like we have the space :(), when it comes down to it, he doesn't want to go anywhere. But I do understand him totally. There's 5 of us in that bed, sometimes it's kind of squishy. Which I personally like, but understand if he doesn't ... :)
Up to him/them. But at some point they want their own bed, have been told that by even fanatic long-term cosleepers. One of those Igottabeme things ...
