When dd whines at me when I am trying to talk to dp, I snap at her, I hate it, but I do. It really is only when I'm trying to talk to him and I think it's because we ahrdly see each other as it is, so when we do have a few moments they are already usually Sephie-centered. I do not want to be that snapping mom- you know the one, always almost yelling at her kids. Sometimes it works and she is quiet, which is worse, b/c I know I was wrong, not her. Makes me feel guilty, yk? Anyway, TIA.
Lauren

I know what you mean. We used to do that and I did a lot of apologizing to her afterwards. But then we just introduced the idea of not interrupting and I got creative in distracting her for a few minutes and teaching her to wait while mama and papa talk. She slowly learned about waiting patiently.

Is she the 13 mo? If so, that is REALLY too young I think for her to be able to understand waiting so I would just have a bag of tricks handy so you CAN get time with dp. MAybe even plan ahead with a snack, craft, new toy from a rotated stash. (I used to pick up really cheap 'disposable' toys to use as distraction toys.)

hth and hang in there good mama,

That's a good idea, I think I need to pre-empt it, you knwo, before I go help him with something, (the thing fresh in my mind is helping him with his ever changing commute to work) and grab a toy for her and sit her down with and then go help him.
