View Full Version : Anyone else not feeling pregnant?
Got Milk?

I have morning sickness and constipation, all the symptoms of pregnancy (because I am), but I just don't feel like I am pregnant. Maybe it's just not a reality, I don't know. I just don't feel pregnant. I have already had 2 ultrasounds, but I still don't feel pregnant. Anyone else feel this way?

Wow you're way ahead of me.......I've only peed on a stick to know I'm pg LOL. No ms, no real bloating, gas, etc. My pants are just now getting snug, must be that no-muscle-tone uterus popping out already. I guess as soon as I can get my prenatal care going, I'll actually feel the part.

We were very unsure of dates, so I had a sonogram at 5 weeks (we thought I was 6 weeks) and then a week later to rule out miscarriage. My periods had been so irregular I had no idea when I ovulated. I just don't feel pregnant. I hope I start feeling pregnant. I have my next ob appt on the 8th, so maybe I will start feeling pregnant then. You know the whole pap smear and drawing so much blood that you have like 3 drops left to use stuff. Then all of the stuff that you are supposed to read, ect. Maybe that will help. Then of course when I am able to feel the little booger move that will help a lot.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm 19 wks and I STILL don't feel pregnant. It's soooo weird to me. With #1, I was elated and never questioned that I was. Now, here I am in my 4th mo with #2, and I still question it. (Okay, until I look at my belly and see that it is getting bigger. :wink ) Sometimes that bothers me. I seem to remember being so mindful of what I ate, the vitamins I took, the chemicals I was around, etc. with #1, this time I seem to go through tremendous mood swings, and feel depressed. (Don't get me wrong, I do have my up times.) KWIM?
Thanks for listening!

I've gone back and forth. I didn't think I was pg at all- I felt like my period would be starting any day. Finally, a week later (I'm usually very regular), I got a positive test. I was in shock, as we were most likely only planning on having two.
Then morning sickness set in- way worse than with the first two pg's. It started about 3 days after I got the +++ and just a few weeks ago tapered off. I still get it every now and then, and I have a sore back, very tired, etc. I have pregnancy symptoms, but it still doesn't seem real. I've been to 2 doctors appts- but haven't settled for sure on an ob (and met with a midwife, but can't afford homebirth- both of my kids came 5 weeks early and if this one is the same, MWs won't deliver anyway).
We haven't decided on names, haven't even talked about them past the initial first couple of weeks of discussion.
I think it's just b/c I'm so busy with my other two that I'm not as focused on the pg. Now that I think about it, this is similar to how it was with ds. With dd, I was very in tune to whatever was going on- the week by week updates, reading pg books, etc. I just don't have time to do that now.
I totally understand where you're coming from.

i hear you guys... im 20 weeks on wed and still wearing my prepregnancy jeans (the baby does have a little pre-exisiting tummy to move into:))... the only excuse i have to wear maturnity shirts is my growing chest...
one night a few days ago i thought i felt the baby with my hand on my stomache, but now im not even sure about that... and i havent felt any kicks that i know of...
my sis is two weeks ahead of me and has a big ol tummy and has been feeling kicks for over a month... if i hadnt heard the heartbeat a few times already, id think i wasnt really pregnant, just crazy...

With my first, I had horrendous morning sickness. It felt awful, but between that and the migraines, I never had a chance to doubt that I was pregnant. I could also feel every little stretch of my unstretched uterus.
Now I'm having my second, and I've had no morning sickness to speak of; I've been feeling kicks but overall I just feel like a little gas-x would clear me right up. :LOL Even with my pants too tight to zip and the uncomfortable feeling I get when I bend over, I still wonder sometimes. I thought that a lack of morning sickness would be a good thing, but having it was so reassuring to me.
I feel more pregnant now that the belly is hot and hard, but the thick layer of fat I have over it prevents me from feeling pregnant all the time.
:LOL

There are days like today I wish I didn't "feel" pregnant.
What with the morning sickness, throbbing headache, nothing tastes good, nothing looks good and I need a nap.- Of course thats not possible with 4 young kids to care for and moving in less than 2 weeks (Doing it all on my own as my dh is in IL at our new home working)

I have a hard time believing I am pregnant too. Even though I :Puke alot last night and am feeling a little nauseous now. I think it is because of the loss of my first pregnancy. I am kind of in denial that this could be a keeper. I also wonder if it is just a cold, flu, anything but pregnancy. I also don't have any tummy what-so-ever (9 weeks) and I think when that starts showing I will be a believer.

I go back and forth as well. I've felt more convinced the past few days. I'm looking forward to the u/s on Wednesday to confirm it all.
And if this nausea isn't from pregnancy then my co-workers are going to hate me for exposing them all to this stomach virus!
I think if you lose that pregnant feeling and lose all of your pregnancy symptoms then there is a worry, but if you still have symptoms I'd bet the hormones are still partying in there!
With all of my pregnancies I never "felt" pregnant until I felt the baby move. I never had any symptoms with my first two. With this one my head was in the toilete all day everyday for 2 1/2 months...my breasts hurt like something else...I had a lot of spotting, and i still really did'nt feel pg until I felt the baby move.
