I really don't want my baby to get the vitamin K shot, the eye goup and the hep-b shot at birth. I just found out today that in order to get out of them I just need to get my baby's doctor's ok. I know he will let me out of the hep-b shot w/o a problem since my other two haven't had the hep-b shot but I'm not sure about the other two. Does anyone have any good documentation as to why these procedures are unnecessary? I know that if I go in and speak to him and I have information to back me up he'll go along with me.
Thanks for your help!

if you've been monogamous for the last few years, and are absolutely sure you have not been exposed to venereal disease, you can reasonably refuse the eye goop.
here's (http://www.gentlebirth.org/archives/vitktop.html) an interesting site that deals with a lot of vitamin k info. maybe you can go for oral?
good luck!

Thanks klsabin- My dh is planning on getting tests for std's just to prove that we are both "clean". I actually had a doctor tell me that I may be certain about where I have been but I can't be sure where my dh has been. What a jerk!
