Today is 39 wks 3 days, and the mw says my baby is too high. Up til about 2 weeks ago it was so low I was hobbling around, and my hips hurt like crazy, and didn't always work properly. I went to the chiro to fix my hips, which he did in 2 brief visits, but now I don't feel that downward pressure anymore. It kinda makes me nervous b/c I really really want my vbac!
any ideas? what can you suggest to get this kid moving south?
I am TOTALLY open to suggestions. ANYTHING!!!!

you can unengage your baby via some spinning babies methods so yeah I think a chiro could do it. but... that isn't nessecarily a bad thing. it doesn't meant baby isn't down and low... just maybe not sitting on your pelvis so hard. sometimes when baby isin a better position (even if it's still very low) it will feel a lot lighter on the pelvis and help you dilate better.

have your midwife see how low baby is via palpatation if you're worried.

the midwife is the one who is most worried... she thinks the babe should be lower... and the heartbeat this time was right at my navel, with fundal height measuring 41 (I'm 39 weeks) - since my last c/s was for breech, bad positioning makes me nervous! When I hear "maybe next week an ultrasound just to determine position" well, that's exactly what I heard last time before I was forced into surgery for a breech with an amniotic fluid index of 4.9 (isn't 5 normal? why was I told it couldn't possibly replenish at all? my whole plan was to turn her... and how reliable is u/s for amnio fluid measurement anyway...):irked:

well, I'm just trying to avoid a repeat of last time! the m/w thinks this kid is head down, just not down enough. and she and I both thought it was down lower before a week or two ago. I definitely felt it before - but I don't now.

I see a CNM for prenatal stuff because insurance pays for it, but I am planning to hb with a CPM. I'll see the CPM in another day or two so we'll get her opinion soon!

honestly I would ask your CPM since you are going with her. as they also seem to be less "medical" in their approach. unless baby is like really high, there should be no reason that the baby can't drop before or during labour. not every baby engages before labour, only some do.
