I am having a problem when I am dying my playsilks where some portions of the silk "bubble" up and don't stay under the water- using the stovetop method. So, then, when I pull them out, there is less dye on those portions. It makes it look a little "tie dyed" which is fine, but I am trying to make some solid colors for a gift. Any ideas?
I also just had an experience with yellow wilton icing color that TOTALLY washed out in the wash- as if I had never dyed it! I used the same procedure as all the other colors, but for some reason, this one didn't take- off to try turmeric!
Anyways, back to the issue at hand, would putting them in ziploc bags and using a microwave method be more successful?
