If you WOH, what do you do? What are your hobbies? What do you like to do? Hopefully, we'll be spending the next 9+ months together, so let's get to know each other.

I work part-time (3 days a week) as an immigration lawyer. This means that I represent people who want to come/stay in the United States. I like my job, but struggle with time management since I have to leave on time to get home to the babysitter.

When I'm at home and not playing with my DD (or wasting time online) I like to read. I am particularly obsessive about reading the New Yorker every week.

How 'bout you?

Awesome idea!

I work from home doing freelance web design--I'm not really getting much work right now :eyesroll but hopefully things will pick up over the next few months, as I'm hoping to use any pay from that to stock up on what we do need for this baby. I love love love it, and only wish I could do more of it. :D

I'm obsessive about taking pictures, I too am a bookworm, and I spend entirely too much time online when I'm not out playing with my girls. We've been doing a LOT of baking recently, my girls are addicted to making cupcakes and frosting, and we spend a lot of time swimming with as hot as it gets here over the summer.

I've been writing a book with my best friend for the past few months, but since we're both moms to similar-aged kiddos, it's been slow-moving. ;)

I work 4 days a week as an engineer for a fortune 100 company. The pay and benefits are great- that is what keeps me here. I was going to quit soon but DH got laid off from his job :(

I also have a cloth diaper sewing business on the side. I love to sew so it is a hobby for me. I mostly sew custom stuff- pockets, AIO's and some fitteds. I do it at night once DS is in bed.

I also love to read:eyesroll hate to admit it but I love smutty romances aka "bodice rippers" as my uncle calls them. Or "heaving bosoms".

We are pretty into veggie garndeing too. But with WOH I don't get as much done as I imagine I will in May when I am planting. Oh well!

Hello!

I SAH with my crazy boys. The four of us are all vegan, and into local/ sustainable living. I am into knitting, sewing, veggie & herb gardening, and cooking/ baking. I love love love to read, but, sadly, these days I'm buying and borrowing more books than I have time for.

I'm a big fan of tea, quilts, and sweet soft music!

I'm also a doula (http://blossomingbellies.ca/), and keep a neglected blog here (http://thelittlelads.blogspot.com/).

I got pregnant with DS1 while doing a degree in professional writing... then, after he was born I decided to get a diploma in holistic nutrition... I haven't finished either. :lol Maybe next year... :wink

Lovely to meet you all!

Hi, I'm Vallere! I'm a homeschooling mom with 2 sons. I help bring in a little income by teaching science a few hours a week for a tiny homeschool co-op turned private school in my town and also by working as a doula (well, hopefully...so far all the births I've attended have been pro bono). I'm also a LLL Leader (because I felt like I had too much free time :p)

My DH is a child psychiatry fellow and loves gardening, so we have our first actual garden this year (as opposed to tomatoes and peppers in pots in past years) and an herb garden that he planted for me for Mother's Day. :love

Our two boys were born in a free standing birth center, and we are planning a homebirth this time around. We're a quiverfull, cloth diapering, non vaxing, non circing, CLW, cosleeping family.

Looking forward to getting to know you ladies over the next few months!

I'm Sammie, an aspiring midwife, soon to be student and doula. I'm a SAHM, just got done providing childcare for a friend and will be starting school in August. I love birth, I love reading, I love spending time with those closest too me.

My DH is amazing and supportive and more wonderful than I can say. We've been together for 7 years and married for almost 5.

We have 2 sons, Tatum is 3.5, Kaleb is 1.5 and my VBAC baby. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment, so this will get interesting!

So do we! I know what you mean! Our family is my dh, my FIL, 17 mo. ds and me. I'm ready for some more estrogen in this place. :)

I stay/work at home. We are the resident managers for a transitional housing ministry for homeless families. They get to stay here 90 rent/utilities free and get some counseling/support. We are the eyes and ears of the place and check curfew, keep the pantry organized, etc. and get to live here rent free in exchange. :) So even though its small, we don't plan on giving it up anytime soon. When baby comes, our family bed will just have 4 in it! We have a queen and twin pushed together right now.

My husband and I also make a little money as the administrators of the church website, but of course most of our income comes from my dh who is a librarian. FIL has been with us for 3 months now as he's been very down since my MIL passed away two years ago and was neglecting himself.

Love to read too. love nutrition, learning, and teaching. Am so excited for ds to get old enough to homeschool, and would love to become a childbirth educator sometime in the future. Nice to meet everyone!

Hello!

I work from home full time dealing with investment real estate. I really like my job and when baby comes, DH will shift his days off to be during the week so that I get two full days without the baby to focus on work and the other three days, I'll squeeze work in while the baby is napping and in the evenings.

DH and I have been together for 7.5 years and this is our first pregnancy. We are both vegetarians and plan to have this baby in a free standing birthing center. It took us 6 months to conceive this baby - after 5 months I got impatient and went and bought the clearblue easy fertility monitor and got pregnant the first month we used it! :)

Hi, I'm Kelly.

It's so nice to get to know you all :)

I have two children. Weylin, who is my 14yo DS, and Annabelle, my 9yo DD. They are the best DC in the world :love

I make my income as a hairstylist (which isn't bad) I work 3 days a week, it is a great schedule.

DH has his own pool construction business.

We conceived this baby right around our wedding (a wedding night baby) I charted for about 6 months before we conceived. We had changed our mind actually about having another when BOOM, I got preggers :D We are very excited about it.

I am also a bellydancer (kind of a mixture of styles) I am hoping to continue dancing through this pregnancy, but I have gained about 20 lbs :( and my costumes don'ty fit anymore. I do intend to keep up my skills though. I also have spent the past few years dancing with fire...firefans, palm torches, they go with my bellydance quite well. I am out of practice with both though.

I also am a huge reader, non fiction. alot of inspirational and spiritual books, nutrition, and now pregnancy books :lol I have a HUGE library of books :lol

I love to do yoga, to work out, and walk. I am very fitness conscious.

Hi all! Great idea!

I work from home as a writer - magazines and newspapers (once for Mothering!) I was a newspaper reporter before dd was born. I do pretty well now, although the economy has made me lose a few clients. Summer is always slower.

My favorite things to do with DD are arts and crafts and cooking, reading and the playground. We also love the beach! (We're in NJ, so close to the ocean.) DH is a college professor who teaches journalism.

DD slept in our bed for most of the past 5 1/2 years but has JUST started to sleep in her own room, totally of her own decision. It's exciting but a little bittersweet. I'm actually kind of happy when she creeps into the bed in the middle of the night. :D

I read the NY Times every day and the New Yorker (another fan, sarahr!!)

It took us a long time to be reading for #2 - but now I'm so excited! WE've got a big baby boom in our very closeknit neighborhood now which is soooo cool. DD's best friend is next door and a year younger; that momma will have baby #2 in Oct and I'm due five months later - really cool!

We live in a 2 bedroom apartment, so this will get interesting!

Me and DB also live in a 2 bedroom apt! We're definitely not turning his office into a nursery since the majority of our baby's early months will be spent either in our bed or being baby-worn, plus DB works from home.

Hi all! Great thread!

I'm Christine. I'm a student here in Richmond, finishing up my second to last semester before graduating with a BS in psychology. I'm so happy to be done before the baby is born! I'm also a doula, working free of charge until I become certified through ALACE. Being a doula has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I thank God for this path I've been on and what I've learned so far. I would probably still be on the forums even if I wasn't in the childbirth field because I've been very interested in pregnancy and childbirth since I was a little girl. Been subscribing to Mothering magazine for over 4 years, and this is my first baby.

My amazing and supportive boyfriend lives with me and we got PG on the first try. It was definitely the charting and CB OPK! He is a manga artist and freelance illustrator, working from home. It's been so wonderful to have him around when I feel sick or need support. He's just as much into the pregnancy as I am <3 He gets tummy and back aches whenever I do!

In my spare time, I'm either on the forums, editing my photography, watching movies, or just hanging out reading pg and birth books, with the occasional fiction (when I don't have a full day of classes every week day and statistics homework!)

Right now I'm just really hoping to get through the next 3 weeks of class, and then I have a month break. Thankfully there's only 2 classes for the fall, both are only one day per week. Then I'm DONE!

It's great to meet you all! Happy baking!!

Hi Ladies, I'm jumping in here. I'm 29 and this is my third (dh's second) child. My oldest is 13 and the baby will be 1 later this month. I'm both excited and terrified about the upcoming baby because I'm not really ready for another one, but we wanted them closely space and figured we'd make it work out somehow. Sure is scary just the same, to some extent, but so exciting too.

I live in rural Maryland and have dreams of homesteading someday. So far, we've just got some chickens and a reasonable sized garden. We also live in a 140-year-old house which sounded all quaint and romantic when we bought it a couple years ago and I think that charm has been worn away by the reality of old-home-living. But overall, I do love where I live!

I'm a professional seamstress and gave up a 9-5 job a few years ago so I could have more time at home. Juggling working at home, homeschooling (unschooling!) my oldest, raising the little one, and keeping house, I feel stretched a little thin at times. My secret hope is that the addition of the next baby will mean I can stop working, but I don't know what DH will think about that. My business has been doing lots of more children's items the past year (wonder why!) or so and I focus on selling locally and word of mouth keeps me pretty busy. DH is an antenna engineer and spends most of the week at work or commuting and the weekends scrambling to catch up on the house projects that keep piling up.

I guess all my passions tend to focus on crafting, sewing, gardening, cooking, and parenting these days. I've become quite the domestic I guess and I'm happy about it. I love doing crazy costumed events and playing with fire from time to time, but that's starting to feel like a whole different life now.

Oh and I realized this means I get another homebirth too! Woot!

Hello everyone, my name is Danielle and I'm happily married for 4.5 years. I live in Oklahoma City OK. This will be our first child and we are completely ecstatic about it! I currently work at a military installation as a HR Specialist and could say I somewhat like my job. I am still going to college full-time as well but I have a feeling that's going to change coming next semester (I'm exhausted!!!) Our hobbies include: hanging out with our muts at the park, mountain biking, visiting with friends and family, that kind of thing. We've had a bad event in the past with an early M/C so I'm hoping this time around we be successful in expanding our family.

Hello all! I'm Gina, married to DH Jim since Aug 2003. We have one DD, Cecelia, conceived via IVF and born Oct 2007. We underwent a Frozen Embryo Transfer to conceive this babe, and just found out today that our Beta test was positive! I'll be heading back in on Friday to ensure my numbers are doubling. I did have a loss in March of this year, from a naturally conceived babe, so I'm cautious but still excited and ready to welcome another baby into our family!

As far as work, I work 3 days/week for a clinical research company. I am very lucky in that my DD goes either to my MIL or my mom on the days I am in the office. The other days I get to enjoy time at home with her :D Though as I always say -- my days in the office feel like my days off!!

Looking forward to hanging out with you lovely ladies and welcoming March babes!!

~ Gina

I'm Judy :) I have three little girls, Madeline, Katherine and Lucy. I love them to pieces! We're a good, Catholic family (haha.. I love saying that.. you know, as opposed to *bad* ones... lol) and are open to life at any time... but since it wasn't happening right away (dd3 is 3.5 already!), I figured we were just blessed to have the three girls we already had :) And then... BOOM! I was nauseous for a few days or a week and I just knew. So... this is a bit of a shock and I'm still coming to grips with it all.

We homeschool and the oldest will be in second grade next year and dd2 will be in kindergarten. We do use a cirriculum, but we're quite flexible with it and do whatever works whenever it works.

I do work out of the home, but not a lot of hours per week (maybe 11-18?). I'm a barista at my very favorite local coffee shop.. I've been going there since it opened in '97 and just happened to be at the right place at the right time to get a job there about a year ago now... Before that I was a SAHM for three years.. and before that I was the sports editor at the local newspaper for five years.

I am 'technically' due February 25th, but my uterus seems to be quite the comfy spot and all my babes thus far have gone 'overdue' and born two weeks (or just less) after their due date. I do almost hope this is a February babe almost.. but mostly because my older two girls both already have birthdays in March!! Katherine's birthday is March 3rd and Madeline's birthday is March 14th! (turns out June is a lucky month for conception around our house ;) )

For hobbies, I really first and foremost enjoy sewing. I did sell cloth diapers as a small business for a while, but I kind of lost the passion in doing so. So I just make my own now ;) I've kind of been out of my sewing mojo lately (eek), but hoping to get it back because I used to sew the majority of my dds' wardrobes too!

I also dabble in hand embroidery and needle felting .. I'm also a facebook junkie ;)

ETA: I forgot a big thing that's quite exciting here... my MIL lives in town and so do my parents.. so when I work, my girls go see grandparents! Or some days dh is off too (he works four days on, three days off at a youth correctional facility). I really, REALLY love living with so much family around!! MIL is one of eight children and four of her siblings live in town! And there's tons of other extended family and that's just so fun :)
