Ok, my cousin went to the doc at 6 months for her us. They told her that she was loosing amnio fluid and they didn't know where it was going. Well, this led to weekly ns tests and weekly us to determine fluid levels. It was determined 2 days ago that her fluid was down to 3% and that they needed to induce immediately (she is due today). Well, they used the gel and it didn't work (her body wasn't ready to labor yet). They told her that they were going to try pitocin today and that if that didn't work they were going to "take the baby".

Is this a c-sec case? What happens when the fluid "disappears" like that?

I haven't called her today cause in my heart I already know that they have cut her open :(

Has she tried increasing her water intake? I mean, I'm sure they're going to do something anyway, but it's normal to have low fluid levels at the end of pregnancy, however, if this is something that's been an issue since 6 months, that may signal a whole other issue, mainly placental insufficiency.

I hope things go well for her.
