First, has anyone removed their own IUD? I called my OB to have it removed and he cannot see me for another month. DH and I want to ttc ASAP, so we are really upset about this. Also, my regular Dr. won't remove it either. So I am considering removing it myself.

Second, how soon can I conceive after removing it? I've heard that some people have had troubles, while others have conceive immediately. What have your experiences been?

ETA: I have Mirena, not the copper IUD.
