I am interested in making my own diapes/covers but I don't even sew. Howver, I'm willing to learn. Is it really hard? I'd like to hear tips from mamas who've done it. What patterns do you recommend?
Thanks for your time!:)

I've sewn my own covers despite being a terrible seamstress- I used fleece, which was pretty forgiving. It did take some time, but like I said, I really can't sew! Luckily I did have a sewing machine, and the fleece was free, so I didn't have to worry about ruining expensive fleece.

If you have a sewing machine, it's pretty easy to sew your own diapers. I did this several years ago for my third child when we couldn't afford to buy new cloth diapers. I used flannel, doubled with a terrycloth pad sewed in the middle. I used one of my old cloth diapers as a pattern guide. You can just use a large zig-zag stitch to cover the raw edges at the ends (like there is on diaper service diapers.) My home-made diapers worked well, but they were completely worn out in about a year, so I ended up buying new cloth diapers for my fourth child.
