HI I hope there is someone out there that can help me? I will start with some back groung info...
I have had problems, which I feel are the consequences of my my parents/childhood Dr making me go on the pill. There reasoning was I wasn't starting my periods fast enough and "correctly". (I had 1 peroid when I was 13 and they put me on the pill, when I was a little over 14 yrs.) I was told I would most likely never have children and, IF I did ...it would be will fertility drugs.
I am now charting ,and have been for 3 years. My charts are all over the place. At first I was having a non stop cycle the longest was 92days. No temperture rise. I let it go for awhile, but then I was advised may be to think about trying some herbs. So,I have tried Natural progesterone cream, and black cohosh to have a temperture rise then a period. It worked for awhile...Now the problem is I have a peroid ..no temp. rise and a period right after the other. So, my question Should I just let it be? or is there something I should do?

Hi! :wave Welcome to MDC.
Do you have a link to your charts?
First off, a big ol slap to your doc for telling you that at 14! :shake What a crappy thing to tell someone that young. I didn't start my period until I was almost 15.
Are you currently ttc?
It sounds like the first thing you want to do is go in for some bloodwork...thyroid, insulin (to check for PCOS), pituitary, DHEAS. Check those levels and then see what is up with that.
Then from there you should be able to find out where to go.
Keep charting - sometimes that can reveal other problems.
It sounds like you aren't ovulating. When did you get off the pill?

To answer your first ?, no,I don't have a link...but I could fax them. This may sound stupid, but I don't know what ttc is.
I have had some testing done. My thyroid came back normal. My midwife says she thinks my body is just getting those toxins out of my body. I have had a wounderful son. 5 years ago. I went off the pill two years before ds was conceived. When he was born,I was put back on the mini pill. (because of breast feeding) We (dh and I) didn't know anything else. Every time I asked drs other alternitives they would say..."There is nothing else. You need to stop breastfeeding, so we can change kinds." Stop, breastfeeding?
and just change kinds? That's the answer? :scratch I couldn't handle that so, I just went off the pill March 2002,because I was tierd of the side effects. At the same time,a friend introed me to natural family planning. I would like to become pregnant again. I will just keep charting and having fun. I just have a hole in my self-esteem. Thanks for replying

ttc=Trying To Conceive
What toxins is your midwife talking about? If she is talking about having been on birth control pills, you've been off the mini-pill for two years. A lot of women get pregnant their first month off the pill (a few even get pregnant while on the pill)
Have you considered seeing an OB/GYN who specializes in infertility or a Reproductive Endocronologist?

HI-
I was on the pill at 14. At this young age you, the child, are /is developing. The body is not yet ready for those horrific drugs! Birth control pills are not the same for everyone. Yes, some people get pregnant right away and some get pregnant on them. Yet some others... are scared by their effects. In my opinion they do cause cancer and I also believe that they cause infertity. They are a drug, and drugs ,as we tell our children are dangerous, meaning they have consequences. ( FDA approved or not all perscription drugs can be dangerous.) Who is paying for the Dr. ,who influenced my parents decision? I am! I personally will NEVER go to an OB every again. First my son was delieved by one and he was terriable. Secondly, I am a Naturalist. I believe in Natural living. I will NEVER put something like fertily drugs in my body. And that will be the first thing the OB will suggest. If God wants me to have a child then he will give me one. I believe in miracles, because remember a DR./OB already told me I would have children (at 14 :splat ) and I have one.

Bones,
There are lots of non-drug based ways to try and regulate your cycle that are worth trying.
Lunaception involves sleeping in a totally dark room CD1-13, a slightly light room CD14-16 (to simulate the effects of a full moon) and then a dark room the rest of the cycle.
Herbs such as red raspberry leaf, red clover, and nettle can help nourish your body as well as restore your hormones to balance.
I think it's helpful to remember that many women have trouble getting their cycles back to normal after breast feeding. Your situation while difficult is not unusual around here (check out the long cycle topic or the bf-moms topic)
Our bodies are amazing, and heal themselves from all kinds of trauma. The fact that your have a child is proof that YOUR DOCTOR WAS WRONG so as painful as the treatment was there is no reason to assume that your cycles won't come back into balance and you'll have another child.
There is lots more information on natural healing on this and the TTC board, but if you are not trying right now, it's okay to let it be and see what your body does with time and good self-care.
