Hi there, I'm new to MDC - just browsing around asking questions (hope that's ok).
Anyway, I am single and not ttc right now, but I know I have fertility issues (primarily a shortened luteal phase). I am currently seeing a naturopath and taking a vitex combo.

This is the first cycle with the herbs (last cycle was off in order to check my LH and FSH levels with a blood test) and I am so stressed out because of school (midterms - I'm in my 3rd year of university) and also, to be honest, stressed out because I want this to work and my luteal phase to be lengthened . . .

but you know how it goes . . stress is totally preventing me from ovulating.

So, my midterms are over (for a couple weeks anyway), and I'm sitting here, still feeling tense and worried. What can I do to calm down and ovulate?

TIA so much!
Peace!

This is going to sound simplistic, but I've been trying it lately after much more elaborate relaxation tapes, etc.

Take nine slow deep breaths. It works for me because I don't have to make my whole day come to a halt to do it, and I can do it just about anytime anywhere.

Also find something else to get really engrossed in for a while. A project, a craft, a mystery novel you coldn't read during the semester, a bad movie marathon, whatever lets you think about something else for a few hours.

I also am trying the herbal route. I bought soem stuff called merry mother tincture from attached mamas.com It has vitex and all that. I have been taking it 3X a day for about a week and am hoping it will make ma start my cycle over. I'm currently at 8 weeks and not PG!! :splat SOOO.. I was wandering what the sucess has been with this kind of herb and what would be better for bringing on menses too. I have premature Ovarian failure and was on clomid with provera with DD. She was born wit a severe chromo probelm and I wanted to try something natural first this time. :hippie Any thoughts? I just hope it works, My boobs are sore today so hopefully it'll come soon. TMI?

I am taking a B-complex vitamin to help with stress, anxiety, and loss of energy. I am also taking vitex. I've been ovulating though unable to conceive, but perhaps if stress is part of the problem vitamin B would help.

I would think that anything to support the adrenal glands would be good since that's where the stress hormones (i.e. cortisol) are produced.

I took 500 mg vitex and black licorice root during the pre-ov phase and took False Unicorn Root Tincture in much the same method one would take clomid. 12 drops 3x/day, cycle days 3, 4,5,6,7. Since I hadn't had a period after my son was born, I jump started myself with the FUR after I'd taken vitex for about 90 days straight.

This herbal cocktail was the first time I'd ever had copious EWCM.

I've been taking 800 mg/day of vitex for the last three weeks and I too have been seeing more cervical fluid than ever before in my life. I'm on cd6 and for the past two days have had really ambiguous fluid that seems to be between ew and creamy. I'm wondering if this is actually going to make it harder to pinpoint imminent ovulation. Based on past cycles, I shouldn't be O'ing for another week or so--I don't know what to think!

Sorry! I wasn't very clear. The first time I took FUR, it did bring on ovulation, and then 12 days later, my first period in almost 3 years. I was actually kind of relieved we didn't catch with that egg, because I wasn't sure about the quality of my endometrium at that time.
