I had my transfer on 2/14 and my pregnancy test is not until 3/1. The wait is killing me!! I know that I shouldn't do a home test due to a false-postive from the HCG but has any one else "cheated"?? my closest IVF friends all used EPT's after a week of their transfers, all with accurate results. I feel like I might jinx myself. What do you all think???

What a tough choice! On one hand, it would great to know but on the other, with the risk of a false-positive, it the long run taking the EPT might do more harm than good.
What is your gut instinct? I think I'd listen to that.
Sorry I can't be of more help!

If I remember correctly, the hcg from the shot should be out of your system in 10 days so if you test after that it should be okay. Have you ever gone to ivfconnections.com There is a lot of ladies with a lot of experience who might help. I did an ept the day before my pg test so I would be prepared for the results. I about wet my pants when I got a positive.:D Good luck. I remember that torturous two week wait.

Thanks for the replies!! So far I have avoided the :firedevil on my shoulder and held off but boy has it been tough. If I didn't have one in the house maybe it woudn't be so tempting but it came free with an old ovulation kit. My PG test in this coming monday so I cam going to try to hold off but maybe I will take a peak tomorrow...
sleeping queen: thanks for the link to IVF connections! Seems to be one web site I didn't have!!

I hope you get good news tomorrow. I'll be waiting to hear the news.
I'm starting a frozen cycle this month. Hopefully we both will have good news to post.

Hi Ladies -
I had my transfer on 2/19, had my blood drawn this am for hcg - and the lab screwed up the test so I won't know until tomorrow!! :angry
However, I did a EPT this morning and had a very faint POSITIVE!! Of course, I won't believe it until it is confirmed by blood, but I'll come back and let you know if it was true.
The Cheater:p

Edited to add:
BTW - I also did an EPT 3 days ago, and it was a BFN - so the hcg they gave me seemed to be out of my system already.

TADAH!!
:banana :banana I'M PREGNANT :banana :banana
My levels look good so just 2 more weeks 'till the ultrasound to see just how many egg sacs there are........
While I am doing the banana dance I am also trying to be cautiuosly optimistic. My last IVF I had a 2 postive tests but then no heartbeat..... Then again that was only 1 egg and this time was seven so keep your fingers crossed for me ladies!!

I was just wondering how your u/s went.
I tested early too. It is true the HCG is completly out of your body by 10 days.(after the shot) I tested 3 days before my beta and got the +. I know some that test earlier than 10 days and get a neg. then when they test later and get a + they know it is a true +.

Well my first U/S was great. Pregnant with triplets(!!) but only one heartbeat. The one with heart beat looked great and measure perfectly. I was 7 weeks post transfer and it measured 6 weeks 6 days and the heart beat was strong and the middle range of "normal". The other 2 only measured 5 weeks 2 days. To be cautious they had me come in for another u/s to see if the other 2 developed. Well they all progressed. One to 8 weeks, 6 days and the other to 6 /12 weeks. Unfortunalty no heartbeats in any of them anymore. :crying I had my d/c a week ago and I am now just trying to heal and stay positive.
Thanks for asking....
