Hi wise women,

I miscarried in mid- December. I ovulated 2 weeks after the miscarriage and had a normal period. As advised, I did not try to get pregnant that month. Now I'm on day 42 of my next cycle - not pregnant (many tests!) and no sign of my period emerging. I'm so frustrated! Any thoughts on how to get my cycles going again!

Thanks, Deb

I do not have an answer for you, but I wanted to bump your post and also suggest that you try posting on some other forums. "Health and Healing" maybe? I have heard a few women here talk about it taking a few months for their cycles to regulate after a m/c.

Hope you get some answers (or a visit from AF :) ) soon!

Mostly, I would suggest posting the question on the Fertility and TTC boards because many folks there are working to regulate cycles, etc. There've definitely been threads about using nutrition and supplements to regulate cycles and increase fertility.

Personally, I've found that a daily dose of flaxseed oil improves my health overall and also specifically menstrual and ovulatory functioning.

Good Luck!!

i'm so sorry to hear of your loss.

i remember the first three cycles after each of my m/cs being all over the board in length, duration and intensity. please be patient with yourself, and know that your body is doing it's best to get back on track for you!

good luck,

katje

It's very normal for your cycles to be off after miscarriage. I think eating healthy, keeping hydrated and getting pleanty of rest is best for now.

You're feeling fruatrated and I completely understand :hug. It may take a few months for things to get back to normal. Were your cycles normal before the miscarriage?

On cycles being weird after a m/c. My first period was very strange, and I O'd on day 25 of my second one which is quite late so if I have a decent LP, it will be around 40 days this cycle where I am normally 30 days.

On helpful advice, I suggest taking one or all of the following herbs, as teas or tinctures: Nettle, Red Raspberry Leaf, and Red clover, and Chasteberry

The first three are loaded with nutrients. Red Raspberry improves uterine tone, and red clover boost fertility, they all have a balancing effect on your hormones.

Chasteberry also balances hormones-it's common recommended for women with low progesterone- but actually works for low estrogen as well.

I'm so sorry for your loss! No advice here, but I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I m/c 12/09, and just started my 2nd af today. My cycles have been totally out of whack- it is frustrating, but I'm hoping they will get back to normal soon. Hope they do for you, too.
