I have never experienced spotting mid-cycle before and am perplexed as to why it is happening. I know implantation bleeding could be one of the reasons but I am fairly sure I am not pregnant.
I am still nursing my 17 month old. She has been sick the last few days and has been nursing a lot more, could this cause spotting?

The only time I have personally had mid-cycle spotting was when I had ovarian cysts.
Maybe you should call your doctor.

There could be alot of reasons, the most common would be a normal variation.
How are your cycles? Regular? How long do they last?

My cycles have seemed pretty normal, probably lasting about 28 days. Admittedly though I have not paid real close attention to them.
The spotting has stopped - only lasting about 2 days. It was the brown yucky stuff....
Thanks for your help!

Was it right in the middle of your cycle? Did you have sex within 24 hours before?

I think it was right in the middle. I cannot remember if we had sex 24 hours before but I don't think so.

hmmm....I would tend to think implantation bleeding, but that usually happens a week to 10 days after ovulation.
Maybe keeping track of the next few cycles if you're really concerned and seeing if there is a pattern? Sometimes, it's just a matter of being low in progesterone, too. Not really a huge issue, but some people use Wild Yam or other things like that after ovulation to maintain the levels.
I think the mamas in Fertility might be able to help you out, too. :)

I must pay closer attention to these things....
Thank you for your insight!
