I thought I'd start! I didn't see another thread,

WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!:banana I'ts March!!!!!!!! I'll bet we have some mama's go this month, I PLAN to be one of them!!!

We had a really nice weekend. It got up to almost 60 here so we took a picnic to a local state park and played and hiked (slowly, LOL!) and ate, we had a lot of fun. It helps to be busy for me, helps me keep my mind off things (labor!).

I had a craving for Long John Silvers last night so we all went, I started regretting it as soon as I finished eating it though :eek !! I had tummy pains all night.

My sleep has been terrible, I lay awake for hours at night. Are any others of you having this?? So what do you do? Do you just lay there, or get up? I'm afraid if I start getting up, it will become even more of a habit, one that I won't be able to break.

My BH are getting a lot stronger, I told DH to be ready-one of these days he's going to get "the call". He works a half an hour away from home so he'll have to drive home, pick me up then we'll have another half an hour back to town! I'm a little nervous because my first labor was 5 hours, the second was 14 so I have NOOOO idea what to expect this time! It would be wonderful for him to be home when it starts!

I so can't wait!! The days are passing very slowly for me now!

Best wishes!!

Hi mama's! :wave

I spent all weekend in the bathroom with the flu :gross Could not keep anything down for 2 days, and had a fever of 102! I was so uncomfortable I could not even get to sleep. :( I almost had dh take me to the hospital b/c I thought I was having back labor. I had *intense* pain hip to hip for hours. And my BH were pretty strong every 15 mins or so. But then they went away...
All I did all weekend (and now) was worry about baby!

Going in to week 35, and I'm worried ds may be coming here soon. Someone at work told me I've dropped, and I feel like he's "right there" (pressure on my cx) when I stand up. BH's have increased a bit too... :crap

Then again I cound just be paranoid... :shrug I go to the dr tomorrow for my GRB test, and I'll have them check me out then.

I got all my fluffy mail ready now, nursing stuff together, and washed baby stuff last night. I packed DS #1's overnight bag for my SIL's, and started getting DH & my bags ready. DH teases that I'm over nesting and DH and DS are turning into birds.

Hope everyone else is great!!! :grouphug

I had the stomach virus last week and dh got it Sunday so it's been one sick thing after another around here.

I hope everyone gets well soon.

I've decided these babies are at least 5 pounds now. I'm just over 33 weeks, but they had a real growth spurt this last week. I feel pretty strong about them making it to at least 37 weeks. I want them to go 40 weeks, but I think they may get so big in the next 4 weeks that they won't need to. We'll see!

bellafinn ~ I can't sleep either. i feel tired but it takes me HOURS to fall asleep. it's so frustrating.

i hope you other mamas are feeling better soon. :grouphug

dh and i have been taking guesses about when this little girl will arrive. i am almost 34 weeks....due date is Apr. 17. we're both feeling she'll be earlier than that - guessing first week of april. i can't believe we're this close!! :)

I am due April 30th so I am turning 32 weeks this week and feel like it is dragging on. This is my 4th baby and while I know I should be cherishing these moments I just can't wait to feel like my old self again. I want to eat food that doesn't taste bad and I want to enjoy a meal without the horrible indigestion that goes on for hours. I am tired of living off of Life cereal (about 2 bowls a day is all I can tolerate in the way of food).

I hate to complain so much but I have just had a really difficult pregnancy this time around....and my children miss their mother. I want to play with them and take them to the park but I have NO ENERGY.

It will be over soon, I just keep telling myself that.

Hi there! I've never posted in this forum before, but I'm due April 3rd. I'm in my 35th week and am feeling great. I had a dr. appointment today but my dr. was in performing her 2nd c-section of the day all ready at 9:00 am, so I just visited with the nurse.

I can't believe I'm on weekly visits from here on out! :eek And, next week, I start getting checked for dialation/effacement!

Oh, and we've decided to move...so we're currently in the process of moving into a different rental house! Are we nuts or what????:LOL

Hi Kaylee! And welcome to our little group here!
I know i cant believe that it is already March! Gesh..
My throat hurts tonight. I am not sure why. I felt really ran down today and then tonight my throat started to hurt just like scratchy when i swollowed like snot type scratchy! So I took a benadryal. I havent taken one for the whole pregnancy and the pollen count has been so darn high the girls are all allergy out too!:eek I figured it would be better to do that now then let it build up and be sick durning labor.. pollen kicks my butt big time. I just wish I could have my zertec but I wont take that while pregnant.:) ANYhow mamas is everyone ready for the babies,, meaning have everything they need? I think i am set. I just need a boppy and a high chair.. But the high chair can wait a bit.. and the boppy arent to expensive.. anyhow i hope you mamas are well. Take care and Sleep well!:wave

I sure don't envy you gals that are moving! With my last we moved right after he was born, when he was only 2 WEEKS. It would have been better to move before, but it just didn't work out. With my daughter we moved just before she was born. It is easier to move pregnant though, instead of with a newborn! Good luck to all of you!

Another sleepless night here...

Yesterday I was a cleaning fool, (making up for the last few weeks I guess). I'm hoping now to just be able to maintain everything till the baby comes. We only need a highchair too. We never had one with the other two, so this time I'm getting one! I'm washing up the clothes and dipaers today and then I'm all ready-nothing left to do but wait.... and wait.... and wait:D

I have an app on Thursday, haven't had one for a month! They don't put you in weekly's here until week 38, and don't do vaginal exams until then either. I thought I'd check myself in the shower, but couldn't find my cervix anywhere-hope it's in there, LOL!

Can you believe how close we are getting? I'm 34 weeks now and though I shouldn't complain because I've had a fairly easy pg, I'm starting to get uncomfy. We've been really busy getting ready for baby, and looking for a house. My ds' activities have slowed down some, and I finally found a preschool for him (for the fall).

I just need to get a sling, and a swing and then we should be all set. I put up the co-sleeper but haven't attached it to the bed. In a couple of weeks I'm going to have my dh install the base to the carseat so that I can see how it will work and make sure its ready to go. I think I've decided to go ahead and keep April 2nd as my c-section date, because I will be only 2 days away from being 39 weeks. Plus, for selfish reasons I like that date and I am ready to meet my baby! My mom will be comming the night before to stay w/ my ds while we go to the hospital since we have to be there early, and she lives about 3hrs. away.

I hope everyone feels better soon! It really sucks to be sick while you are pg!

Wow, the countdown is on!!!!! It really will not be long for any of us now. I feel like I am about ready, I feel the urge to do a HUGE spring cleaning of this house- luckily dh is right there with me and all to happy to do the "icky grunt" work. O I love him!!!

I still do not have all the material stuff I need but spoke with a load of girlfriends yesterday and I am relaxing on that front, knowing that things will start pouring in soon. It is probably better now than earlier anyway since I have nowhere to put new stuff until this cleaning is done!! This should keep me busy and my mind off other things----like when when when and who are you in there?!!

I had my first real night of tossing and turning, before I was awake for a hour or two, that was not bad compared to last night and the tossing, complete with heartburn, for HOURS. I actually skipped going to the Y this morning for my workout, and I am a freak about getting there and exersizing daily. Dh and ds could not believe I was staying home, and look how I am spending my time-- they think I am sleeping!!

That is all for complaints from me, all in all I feel better than during preg#2--- so I am doing great. I hope all gets better for everyone with the annoying preggo problems- and to all who feel great-- yippie keep it up.

hi everyone! I am becoming one of my cats. I fall asleep easy but am up all night. heartburn too. This morning I got up at 4 but I didnt really feel like doing anything so I got back in bed. Im hoping for a march baby. Im due the 1st but Ill be 36 weeks on wednesday so next wednesday Ill be good to go.

Were not moving but are having our front porch replanked and new front door, and worse our kitchen cabinets totally replaced. Some didnt arrive correctly so we will have to wait maybe weeks for counters and sink to be replaced.

Hard time breathing and getting comfy, clutter everywhere, no energy to straighten up.

mil not respecting our need for a 5 day babymoon just the 3 of us. is being a big pain.

dh work load just got very considerably lighter as of yesterday, so we will be able to really get some things done, curtains hung etc. figure out how to get to hosp. w/o getting lost.

very few clothes still fit. I am huge and wiish I had one good picture from this pregnancy. im just so huge now.

but Im not ready. the house is not ready. I cant believe there will be an actual baby.

I am also very sick of rain, esp. hearing it outside the window as I lie awake in bed.

sorry for the vent, I think Ill go make a to do list to feel more organized.

I did buy newborn diapers to feel prepared and they are soooo cute!:)

appt. today.

I'm tired of my clothes too. All the new shirts I bought are too short and show the panel in my jeans, yuk. So Im back to wearing the old ones (that practically come down to your knees!)
I had just gotten rid of my *fat* clothes before I got preg so I have no idea what I will wear after the baby comes, I don't want to buy new clothes that I will only wear such a short time.

My belly feels SOOO tight, like it's just going to split open, these last few weeks take forever!

I know! my 'maternity' clothes look like normal clothes to me now. most of my maternity clothes are size small, and now Ive had to get size large with some of them pulling and showing panel. My mom sent me a size large long sundress for a shower and it fits like a dream but its not quite sundress weather. If it were I would go buy 3 large casual sundresses and wear them exclusively, I am truly sick of getting in and out of pants!!!!!!!!!:crying

Afternoon ladies!!
I slept pretty well last night! I thin it was the allergy meds.. But I also threw up! EW! I tend to get this way at the end from acid and heartburn LOL. NAsty! I am 34 weeks as well and cant wait!! My dr appointment is on tuesday 9th and then its weekly after that! then the time will fly ZOOOOOOOOOOM..
I know my belly feels as if it is about to split open too. I dont have a issue with the cloths yet. I still can wear them all.. I am mad though cause i dripped bleach on my favorite pair of black pants. so now they have a purple spot on the leg:crying it sucks! But i have a few other pair of black pants i can wear but its still the thought!!! Well I better get some lunch!!!:wave

Sigh. Sunday, I came home from work and the house was a MESS! DH was sitting on the floor with his eyes glued to the Discovery Channel. I, of course, went nuts. I asked him, "How can you watch TV when you know I'm coming home and the house is a mess? You know I can't stand it if we haven't even vaccuumed all the dog fur up off the floor." etc. etc.. We got the house clean, laundry started, kitchen (the counter had dirty dishes and ANTS all over. I really am crazy about keeping my kitchen clean!. I mean, I eat there!) After we got the house clean, we had chicken and mixed veggies with pasta. :yum Afterwards, ice cream and then The Lion King 1 1/2 which is, by the way, Christina, hilarious. Thanks for the recommendation!

So, yesterday, I busted my butt to clean upstairs, strip beds, sort toys, dust, vaccuum, etc.. I made turkey, green beans, and stuffing for supper, and went out to lunch with my mother. I went to class at 530PM and, guess what, I made an "A" on my Abnormal Psychology test!!! I was so happy 'cause now I'm at a 4.0 for this semester. I came home and promptly crashed. No doubt because I worked waaay too hard yesterday. I had a couple of nice B/H during my Psychology class... The professor kept on looking at me, worriedly :LOL. He should know better. I'm fine. Really.

I didn't have any Pepcid AC last night, so I was up half the night, just like everyone else it seems! DH woke up a couple of times and rubbed my back (nice guy, no? I guess he feels like sh*t because of Sunday!!!). That helped. Finally, I woke up at 6AM and decided to go to the grocery store to get more. I then went on to Starbucks and had my Chai Tea Latte and a cinnamon scone all by myself!!! I got to read the paper, too! Then, I came home, and, while DH was feeding the kiddos, I took the trash out (he usually does it, but I did it anyway. I was outside.).

After he left, I gave the three younger kids a bath... I was feeling really crappy because my heart rate was up, I was thirsty, and dizzy. I called my doctor, and I'm going in tomorrow for another 3 hour glucose tolerance test. I told them I wanted to check this thing out again because I'm just having way too many of these spells. I just can't seem to function at my normal level all the time. I know I'm 32 weeks pregnant, but, hey, I have things I need to do, you know?

My mom came over this morning and took Natalie to get her bangs trimmed at Miss Ella's barber shop. Miss Ella has been cutting hair for over 50 years. She rocks. She's given all of my kids their first haircuts! Then I got the kids off on the bus and Hunter and I stayed home and sang songs, ate lunch, and in general messed around. We took a good nap (it's raining outside and that always helps!). The kids came home and we have been watching TV ever since. Bad mommy, but, I'm entitled, no? They're watching a Dr Seuss video in honor of the glorious Dr's 100th birthday!!!!

Anyway, must dash, I have to make dinner. Pancakes, bacon... my favorite lazy dinner.... :yum

hi all,
Just checking in. Hope all the sickies feel better soon!

I feel okay most of the time. THough definitely slowing down. I'm watching all the mamas go on the March board and can't believe we're/i'm this close. I'm guessing I'll go right at the cusp of the months.

I have my blessingway this Sat. I"m excited but I do need to clean the house etc....hard to do when you can't bend over.

The birthing room is getting closer to ready....this weekend we'll clean it out a bit more. I also am planning on doing my body cast soon. And finish up the dipes/covers I'm sewing..:eek  :scratch It's sounds like a lot!!! :LOL Better go do some of it!!

take care, mamas.

:LOL, indigolilybear. I'm tired just reading your post. I was in my College Algebra class :zzz this evening and I just happened to pick up the campus newspaper and they had an article about Subway in it. Of course, mommy cravings kicked in and I took off for the nearest Subway after class. Yummy in my tummy. I will be paying for it dearly later, but, oh, well....

My sister and I have decided there should be a rule at restaurants that if you get sick :Puke after eating there and you're pregnant, you shoud get your money back because you didn't really eat the food. :D

Now that I've grossed everyone out, I'm going to play my game and avoid my algebra homework!

:( I dont feel well mamas:(
My throat has been hurting the past two days now. It isnt like a sore throat its like on fire .. It doesnt hurt to swollow or eat anything just burns. I dont have any white spots in the back of it and it isnt swollen.. So I have gurgled with some warm salt water a few times today which seem to numb it a bit and for a little while. Thoat longes dont seem to help. I am hoping its just from the past few night of the horrible acid reflus and then being ran down and tired from lack of sleep .. and allergies. I have no fever and so i dont know what else i can do.. If it is still like this on the 9th i guess i will mention it to my dr. If i get a fever I will call him before that of course. im just BLUH! a fine time to be getting sick when baby could come at anytime huh:rolleyes:
:LOL lisa could you imagin all the business these restarunts would lose in the first trimesters of pregnant women if they had that rule of free food if you throw it up :LOL they would run out of money LOL.. with all the morning sickness out there BLUHHH.
well I am gonna head to bed its a little after 1130 now I hope i can sleep.. I just want spring to get here!!!!!!:)

Today a wonderful woman who just had a 10.5 lb baby gave me all her nb stuff that never even got used. I feel like i can relax and know that I can at least dress my babe for the first week, after I get some diapers of course!!! My point is that yeah I feel like things are coming together and even though we are bROKE, things will be okay.
I am hungry again so see ys soon.........

HI Mamas..
Feeling alot better today! Sore throat is gone YEA~ I just feel groggy like i have been slipped something in my drink today.. Kinda out of it.. Both my girls have a cold so thats prob what it all is..
Today it is rain rain rain.. I hate rain. cant wait for this storm to pass through. Then it will be in the high 70's near 80's this weekend and all of next week so they say! I am holding on to that thats for sure! I now feel this kid under my ribs.. We have had fun the last few nights trying to figure out what body part is what.. and to watch him roll in the tummy is a bit freaky for dh LOL.. ya know when the whole belly will move and its like WOW there is something really in there. I love it..
OHHHH i had a wonderfl dream this morning.. I got dd#1 up and out the door for school and dh went to work at the same time as dd left. So it was just me and dd#2 and she was still snoozing in the bed. So i crawled back in bed next to her little warm cuddley body and drifted off to sleep.. I had the most wonderful dream! I had a dream that the baby was here and I was breastfeeding him. Now this is new to me (breasfeeding) and it was so comfoting and put me at such ease. It was a wonderful dream! I woke up and had a wet spot on my shirt! My body is getting ready for this baby and is just as excited about him coming in to this family as i am!~
well we are having homemade tacos for dinner tonight. I need to go get some things from the store before dinner get started. I hope you are all well!

GoodWillHunter
03-03-2004, 06:37 PM
Oh, breasfeeding is AWESOME! Hunter is the only babe I've every solely breastfed, and, wow, does it do wonders for your self esteem. I mean, think about it!!! Every inch of that baby came from resources in your body! DH gave half the chromosomes (i.e. the blue prints), but you gave all the raw materials and will continue to do so untill the babe can eat big people food! Neat thought, huh?

I went to the doc today. I've gained 5 lbs since three weeks ago :help. I about had a fit! :LOL Get over it, already!

I skipped abnormal psychology today because I am just plain tired. Enough!

I think I'm done. Yep. I'm done.

Hi all I breastfed Kimberly for two weeks but quit do to sore nipples and she was not gaining enough weight. so I think I may give Chloe the clostrim but quit after that just bottle feed. but I will play it by year we will see what happens. I dont have a DR. appointment intil March 12th just think in a month we will all be having are babies how exciting is that.

which went well, i suppose.

my anemia suspicions were right...they want me to start taking an iron supplement. the last time i got anemic though, i just boosted up on spirulina and it worked like a charm.

gained 2lbs. baby sounded good. m/w thinks she may be breech at the moment, but wasn't sure. i'm going to start hanging out in those "turn baby around" positions just in case though.

i asked my midwife about some of the policies of the birth center where i will be, and one i wasn't too happy about was the fetal monitoring. she said they will want to hook me up to the monitor for 20 minutes every couple of hours. :angry at the center where i birthed ds, they only checked me every hour or so with the doppler, and they always asked if it was a good time for me. i asked why they can't just use the doppler, and she said, "well then a nurse would have to sit there for 20 minutes holding it." i'm nervous about having to hold my ground and be confrontational...i didn't have to do that at all before. any advice?

Go away acid go AWAY!
I am sure the tacos for dinner didnt help or the three yea i said three ice cream sandwhiches didnt help:LOL So i sit and wait and see if sitting up for awhile will help it go away! Crossing my fingers... BLUH. I may just say screw it and go throw up and get it over with but i hate to throw up.. I remember towards the end with dd#2 i had to do that and dh would make fun of me saying i was a pregnant bulemic which i wasnt it was just gonna wake me up and gag me in the middle of the night as soon as i fell asleep.. :scratch OK as I have grossed you all out enough i am gonna get going.:wave

Hey all...hope people are feeling better.

Mamajubilee--hope your BW is great. I"m looking forward to mine though a little nervous since it'll be a lot larger than my ones w/ds and maybe not so intimate? Either way, it'll be good. Good luck w/the BC--is there no room for flexibililtly? Maybe you could suggest a different option and then convince the MW to sign off a paper?

Well, nothing new here. Feeling a little more hormonal and just plain tired. I do get freaked out a little realizing it'll all be over soon....but then I'll have a newborn! :eek I always get a little overwhelmed this part of the pregnancy.....lkind of like "what was I thinking??" Of course, I'm excited too, for birthing as well as seeing htis little stinker. :D

I just cannot sleep and oH is the pukey, hot feeling in my throat whenever I lay down ever going to go away?
I am fine when I am up and going, except that the lack of sleep is making me feel as though I am in an altered space and dimension.
The weather here is going to be in the 70s-- wow!! Please come to me spring.
So this weekend I plan on getting my 2 hb spaces cleaned and decluttered. Yes all those 1000 k'nexs need to be put away so I can put some cushions on the floor!!! And if i have the babe in my room, well, there is room for much improvement in there too.
Happy blessingways to you mamas having them this weekend, I am still undecided as to whether or not I want one this time. weird.

lets all hang in there moms and know that the times are soon to be changing. much peace to all--

Geeze... I have now finished cleaning the main rooms of the house. Just have to do mine. The bed's made, but the computer is in here, too, so I got sidetracked!!! Gotta get the kiddos ready for school 'cause the bus will be here in an hour or so.

I don't think I"m going anywhere to day, I just don't wanna!!!!! :p

Hunter and Duncan are racing their cars and they way they start is "1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10!!!" and off they go. Duncan always skips 4 and 5 for some reason! :LOL Natalie is "vaccuuming" the entry way. Lord knows it needed it! Since it's raining, we have muddy pawprints all over the tile in the entry way and the kitchen. Icky.

Well, I feel okay today, the end of the pregnancy is always the worst bit. I'd rather have morning sickness than acid reflux. Seriously. At least I get some benefit outta morning sickness (I loose weight!!!! :LOL) Acid reflux just makes me miserable...

Can't wait to see this little guy and see if he has dimples just like his older brothers do. I'm sure he does, but, sometimes God has other things in mind!!!!

Have a great day! I'm going to call DH and see if he's got our finances figured out yet!

Had my appointment this morning! Baby is head down, YEAH! I don't know why but i was getting afraid of a breech presentation.

I gained 9 POUNDS!!! uh oh!:eek I knew it was going to be a big gain but I didn't know it would be THAT big! Towards the end of my pregnancy's I get a sweet tooth, normally I NEVER eat sweets.

I talked to my MW about the contractions I've been having, she said if I'm having more than 4 in an hour, that I need to lay down-lets just say that would put me in bedrest, because I have them ALL the time and definitely more that 4 in an hour, anyway she just said to try to take it easy the next 2 weeks until I get to 36 weeks.

Christina,
Sore nipples are almost always caused by improper positioning! Maybe you could attend a LLL meeting before the baby comes?

IM glad im not alone on the acid! It is the pits!!!
So happy baby is down for ya bellafinn.. Isnt t great news to hear that! I hope mine stays that way too.. He finally turned before the last appointment..
I keep looking at the calander! Its weird to think that in about 33 days or so this baby will be here. It just blows my mind:eek My daughter has Spring break starting 20th and last until the 29th this month.. My mom and aunt are suppose to fly in for the birth and to help out with the girls when i go to the hospital.. So manything coming up this month and it will be over before i know it! So exciting!
I so need to clean .. But i just dont wanna.. My kitchen is a total mess. I hate to clean the kitchen.. Hayley and I need to shower so we will take a nice long warm one today.. So wish I had a bathtub it would be so nice to sit in that all darn day! Well gotta go shower!:wave

Hi everyone! I hope you all are feeling better! I am very lucky to be feeling good. My med. for the acid reflux works really well. Just a little uncomfortable at times... the Dr. says that I am "all baby" and that this baby will most likely be bigger than my ds was. My ds wasn't a very big baby so that's just fine w/ me! We talked more about my c-section and he has been trying to set me up w/ the anesisologist (sp?) but the hospital doesn't have their schedule yet. I gained another pound, so that puts me at a gain of 8lbs. after a loss of 10lbs... so maybe I'll come out of the hospital weighing less than I did before I got pg! (Wouldn't that be nice?) I only breastfed my ds for about 6mos. so I'm hoping to go much longer this time around. I had a WIC appt. today and they were going to give me info. about the formula and I was like 'no thanks' and they're like 'you're going to breastfeed exclusively?" and I was like 'yes'. Anyway... I've been busy trying to keep the apartment clean - its a never ending battle!

Oh, tell me about it, Sarah!!!

I filled out a survey on WebMD yesterday and it said "I always knew I would formula feed. Breastfeeding is not for me." I almost :Puke ! What frustrates me is the wording. It sounds like the person isn't even supposed to test out breastfeeding. Give it two weeks and see how you do. At best, give it six weeks. With Hunter, I just kept on truckin'. Of course, after twins, it was a piece of cake.

I'm thinking, though, I have a thrush infection 'cause my nipples burn at the oddest time and sometimes I have a shooting pain in my breast. Oh, well, I'm treating it with some anti-fungal junk I had around the house. Still before its expiration date, so, there you go! Good stuff.

I have to take Connor to his Boy Scout meeting tonight... I don't really want to go to class, I'm feeling extremely lazy.... I just notice that if I spend all day cleaning, I'm useless for the next two days or so.

:LOL Duncan just asked Mac to give him some ice cream, and Mac said no. Then, Duncan asked me for ice cream. Just asking, I guess. That's too too funny. I guess I better get a shower or bath before I have to go to the scout meeting. I'm not sure which is worse, the meeting or algebra. I think the meeting!!!! :p

Ladies,

When I was pregnant with my first son, my midwife gave me the ultimate cure for heartburn--digestive enzymes. The heartburn happens because digestion slows radically during pregnancy. If you take TUMS, it will cut the acid, but slow the digestion even further. Digestive enzymes speed things up when you take them with a meal, and then supper is history before you lie down for bed. I swear by them. You just have to make sure you get one that specifies ingredients to work on carbs, protein, and fat, not just the papaya ones that only work on protein.

I've been nesting like crazy, too :) Living room and dining room and bedroom are now spotless. Now to work on the guest room, playroom, and storage room. . .

Thanks for the advice! As soon as I get to the store, I'll check it out!!!!!! My mom showed up unexpectedly at 3PM this afternoon and took the twins over to her house to play. They were so excited! :twins: Hunter spent the afternoon running around wearing a t-shirt, prefold with a snappi, and the coup de grace, pink high heels. Gotta love a man with fashion sense! Now he's running around the back yard looking for "CAT!" Oh, well, what can ya do?

Is there anyone else on this board just praying to go into labor or something??? I just am TIRED of being pregnant. I know this is my last baby and all, but I'm sick of this whole pregnancy thing and I am looking forward to the "honeymoon" after the baby comes. :thumb

Gads, I hope this day at work ends soon. I only have one hour and 37 minutes to go... :LOL I'm keeping track!!!

I hate sitting in this little room all day, fielding phone calls from every person and their dog asking if so and so has been admitted to the hospital (call the family!) and/or if "my girlfriend has had her baby yet" ummmm... Why aren't you here? Sometimes, five to ten minutes goes by with no phone calls... That's why I'm on this board on Saturday and Sunday all day... I have nothing better to do. I suppose I could be studying for my Algebra test on Tuesday, but, why? I ask. Sigh... icky icky icky icky...

wow it must be nice out everywhere because there has only been one post here all day !
I think today has been the hardest day for me.. This baby feels like hes kicking the crap out of me.. I told dh we might have to change his name to Dameion. Because he is hurting me and I am starting to take it personal :LOL Today it was like to grabed ahold of the cord and yanked on it as hard as he could and it hurt like hell. Like someone poked me really hard in my belly button.. I will be glad to put a face to abuse i have been getting the past few days :D I know how cramped he must be in there. I packed the babys bag for the hospital today. Got some socks and a outfit and some diapers his baby book so i can fill it out.. I know I will be raiding the room for anything I can get my hands on.. I paid for it all anyways right :LOL
I may not be posting much this week. I have my appointment on the9th and its gonna be in the 80's all week. Maybe I will work on my tan so I can be all pretty in labor.. Get some sun on these ghostly legs of mine! Getting the shorts out woohoo woohoo woohoo!!~ Well I better get to bed.. Couldnt let Lisa be the only one posting on this today :thumb

Y'know, Christina, I didn't even THINK about bringing CDs to the hospital. D'you think I should? I mean, wow, I honestly wasn't planning to, but, hey, why the heck not? Hmmm... The only reason I wouldn't would be the fact that I will probably be there for a few days (3-4) due to a c-section. I don't have enough dipes for that. I have 36 CPFs. Sounds like a lot, but my 2 year old goes through about 20 dipes a day, due to the fact I change him the minute he gets wet. :LOL

I've been having contractions (i guess?) on and off all morning. I had some last night, but I'm not sure they're worth calling the doc about. I mean, I'm at work here in a hospital, what could go wrong? That was said sarcastically by the way....

What do you ladies think????

I'm really tired, too... I didn't sleep well at all last night. I woke up kinda nervous and excited (for whatever reason...couldn't pin it down...)

is this the hospital you will be having the baby at? Is your dr there? You could just talk to him about them.. Or before you go home have him just do a real quick check.. if it makes you feel any better i couldnt sleep worth a darn last night either.. Dh said he hasnt had a good nights sleep in three months either lol maybe hes feeling the pregnancy sleepless nights too..

Well, it doesn't really work that way. Unfortuantely, I'm working at a branch of the hospital where I am delivering at, but I also need to go through the proper channels. No biggie. I'm fine. I mean, really, if it's something, I'll find out later. More than likely, it's from sitting in this same position for 8 hours. Only 3 more days to go and I'm done done done! Meaning, I have to work next Saturday, Sunday and then again the following Saturday. ... YIPPEEE!!!!! Any more news on the front about your "aunt"?

Only 4 weeks to go only 4 weeks to go~~ I need to get my car seat out of the closet and have dh load it in the truck.. .. I have two boxes full of cloths and goodies coming my way. One from my mom and the other from my best friend from High school.. She sent me a email and told me she sent it out and filled it to the brim lol.. I cant wait! My poor post lady has been carrying box after box to my door the past few months.. With us living so far away from any stores( hour and half) it is just easier to get it online.. The only time we drive to "town" is to go to my dr appointments LOL. pretty sooon that will all be over woohoo woohoo.. Well i think i will go get a ice cream sandwhich and scarf that down! Here in San Antonio, it is, according to DH 80+ degrees outside. I don't really like hot weather and that's getting close to hot. Hey, kinda :OT, but does anyone have any suggestions for cheap outings for 4 kids, three of them 3 and under? The kids' Spring Break is approaching rapidly and DH is worried about me being cooped up in the house with 4 whining, fighting, bored kiddos.

I'm thinking about taking them to:

A nature park with paved trails so we can do a "listening" walk and collect stuff.

My mother's house and leaving them there all week... Just kidding!

The playground at said nature park so they can climb the rock wall, not my walls inside my house!

Ummm...Oh, the river to feed the ducks....

Maybe the wild animal orphanage to see the orphaned animals (I may not be able to handle this... I LOOOOVE critters).

A fire station so they can see a real live fire truck up close and personal.

The police Station so they can see a policeman up close and personal (This may be a bit boring as, well, they don't drive way cool trucks like firemen do!!!)

I would do the zoo, but that costs money.

Maybe our wildflowers will bloom and we can go on a flower hunt? Just an idea. Any others??? HELP! I don't wanna be 34 weeks pg with four grumpy kids!

christymama
03-07-2004, 02:55 PM
What about to the library for story time?
maybe you can call the zoo. Alot of times they will have specials for small kids. I know here there is a small zoo and its like 2 bucks a kid and we just brought our own lunches in coolers..
plan the week out like Monday is rock finding day, Tuesday will be looking at all the colors of the new flowers sprouting.. Take a walk to a park or drive ( thats what i would do is drive lol) and let them RUN.. Well when i think of more i will let ya know.... My kids start spring break the 19th..:eek

Even if you don't want to take your cloth dipes to the hospital, do take a couple of packs of disposables. The overhead and markup on them in incredible if you "buy" them from the hospital. We found this our when my son was admitted for jaundice and they *refused* to use the cloth we brought.

When I got home from work today, I really really really wanted some rocky road ice cream. I went to the freezer. No rocky road. Nada. Zilch. I immediately called DH, who had taken the kids to his parents' house across town (what a sweetie :love) and accused him of eating it. DH loves ice cream. He can eat a whole half gallon and never gain an ounce. Jerk. He hates marshmallows and won't touch them with a barge pole. However, I was convinced he ate the ice cream. He said he didn't. I said he did. Did not! Did too! Did not! Did too! He said, "Maybe you ate it last night, gave a big burp and then went on to sleep with heartburn :firedevil" I said, "I would've remembered that, dipsh*t!" :LOL After a few more hypothetical situations, he said, "Did you check the refrigerator?" I said, "Like I would put it in there..." I open the refrigerator and.... what do I see????? MY ICE CREAM!!!!!!!! I had pregnant mommy mush brain and put it in the refrigerator. I couldn't stop laughing, it was soooooooo funny.

Another funny thing in my house is that I have valet pottying service. My two year old, Hunter, will open the door to the bathroom, lift the lid, hand you the toilet paper, help you wipe and flush the toilet. Really. I'm the only lucky one who gets this treatment. Guess he really loves his mama!!! :LOL5

I also have valet computer service. Hunter will click on my icon for Windows XP (It's a duck. I LOOOVE ducks) and then turn my chair just so and say, "Here go, Mama!"

He makes me laugh. So do they all

OMG ~ I just finished with a massage client...I don't think I can take anymore! My back was killing me 10 minutes into it. :crap

On a postive note..I had a *beautiful* blessingway on Saturday! 12 wonderful women gathered to bring me beads, blessings, singing, and food! The hostess had set up a gorgeous altar with fresh flowers and lavender candles. All the mamas present brought pictures of their babes to place on the altar too. Then a surprise showed up at noon...a local female musician who led us in about a dozen great songs and chants celebrating women and birth. Then after lunch, i got the best seat in the house and my friends washed and massaged my feet, painted my belly with henna, and brought me strawberries with cream and chocolate!! :yum What a perfect day!!! :D

AND it has finally stopped raining ~ today was so gloriously warm and sunny. I couldn't believe when i stepped outside and was wrapped in a rapturous blanket of warm air. :) I was getting really tired of the cold and it wasn't helping my mood either.

Christina,
I'm planning on bringing my cloth diapers to the hospital.

Still having contractions all the time, my cervix is softened and I'm about a one. I was nervous on Friday night becasue they were coming pretty frequently and more intense, I also had some back pain and pelvic pressure, luckily it petered out. I think we'll have the baby by the last week in March, but DH doesn't think we'll make it that far. My next app is next week and I'll be getting my beta strep test then too, I'm just trying to keep busy so the days go quicker!

mum2lillie
03-08-2004, 08:47 AM
Everything is status quo here. I've had non-stop contractions since January, but they are getting more intense and uncomfortable, normal twin stuff. I don't have my blessingway until the 27 of March so I'm praying I make it that long. I really want to get the belly cast, the pictures, and the blesssingway done. I'll see my midwife tomorrow, because I think I still have this stubborn UTI that needs to be taken care of before I go into labor. It could be making my contractions worse. I had a dream that said I wouldn't have the babies till the 17 of April which is my due date and that made me happy. Hope it works. Take care everyone.

the discomfort won't compare to labor...at least with labor you know what your body is working towards and what a wonderful reward it is! can't really say the same with diarrhea cramps (well, you know what your body is doing, but it's not quite the same reward now is it?!) you'll do great, and this will pass soon...

I am sooooooooo jealous of your weather Christymama, until I read the part about the upcoming 124's!!! That would be a wee bit too much for me!! The weather here has been awesome, in the 70's all last week, but alas, this too shall pass- the forecast is for up to 6 inches of snow in the morning. Just when I thought it was spring.
I had an appointment with mw today- she came to our house and did the home visit thing. DD even skipped school so she could be here and ask questions- she and her 5 yo brother are both going to be here with us during it all.
My good news is that I went from 32cm at 35 weeks to 34&1/2cm at 36 weeks-- a good growth for me. i finally feel hungry, yeah like always now.
My bad news is that my painful pubic bone really did get less painful when I took 4 days off from my vigourous exersize routine. i am paying for my workout today, mw is trying to point out the obvious connection to me. I do not want to admit the obvious- I may need to stop exersizing-- well, I can always walk.
My heartburn is completely related to the foods I eat, that is a wonderful thing to learn, I have been able to control it since discovering this fact-- spicy foods and I do not mix these days.
Other than being tired, things are going great, I feel much happier than i did for the first few months of my pregnancy-- things are coming together for us.
hang in there all-many happy thoughts-maria

Don't worry about me." He's really a good guy. At any rate, I'm tired and I'm going to bed. I think I'm gonna die!!!! Adam has made himself comfortable by putting his feet in my ribs. Figures. Glad your appointment went well Christy. Mine was good with the midwife today. I've gained a total of 33 pounds this pregnancy-compared to the 80 with dd. Considering it's twins-I'm pretty happy! We are guessing they are around 5 pounds each now. I'm measuring 43 weeks and I'm 34 1/2 right now. Everything is great, no swelling, good heartones on both babes, my blood pressure is normal like always. I'm feeling good about these babies staying in as long as they need to. The midwife said that my body isn't taxed physically at all by this pregnancy other than the normal misery of it! Also, I thought I had a UTI, but she said my urine looked good so I'm okay. I can't believe I'll have these babies in a few weeks. It will be amazing. I also have to make up some sort of ID bracelets for them so we can know which one is which when they come out. Isn't that crazy? I have to figure out my own babies and not get them confused. Take care everyone!

I'm doing allright! But w/our HOT weather all of the sudden, feeling more done. Indigo-We had a snow storm here a week and a half ago then it was in the 70's now we are having a little winter weather again and it's cold so I'd like to come live where you live. I need to wear dresses because that's the only thing that fits over this belly!!! I'll trade locations with you-k? I've had the dreaded hemmoroid problems for awhile now. They are worse some days than others. Mostly I just try to lay down morw than sit up because sitting really triggers mine. I don't think they will clear up till I get these babes out.

My mom is coming to town this weekend and she wants to find some baby alphabet beads and make itty bitty bracelets for the girls with their names on them. So that will work as identification early on. If they are indeed identical and look just alike, I will have to eventually move into using toenail polish!

Lisa-I would describe myself as itchy and hurting all the time, too!

My blessingway is in 2 1/2 weeks. I put it off so that I wouldn't go into labor before then. It's my best shot at making it till April. I can't wait. I'm having my carpets cleaned beforehand. I'm also going to do my bellycast around that time and maybe have DH take some pics. He's an art director and can do a little digital photography.

You guys have a great day!

You guys need to send some warm weather up here!!! It snowed today, and its windy, and about 35 degrees! I'm sick of winter and ready for spring.

This weekend we got the co-sleeper all set up to the bed, and I also got my sling that I ordered. Yesterday I ordered some nursing tops from Motherware, but I'm having a hard time finding the right size bras. I think I'll just have to wait and see how big I get after my milk comes in.

My dh is getting really frusterated w/ us still having our ds in our bed. I just don't think that right now is a good time for our ds to move out. He doesn't want to, he wants the big bed w/ mommy and daddy.

Not much else going on here... my ds had his Kindermusik class today. I've been really nesting a lot lately, but am taking a break from cleaning today. Hope all of you are doing well!

Sarah, IKWYM about having a kiddo in your bed already. Sometimes having Hunter in the bed is really annoying. I just got finished raking the leaves outta our front yard and putting them in our flower beds for mulch. Man, that was a lot of work! Nellie is watching TV and Duncan and Hunter are outside getting into who knows what. I do know that it is mostly dirt and leaves in the back yard, so the worst thing they can do is get dirty. Gee, who knew....

I'm nesting like a freak and am frustrated with the world in general. My OB told me I need to wean Hunter because it's not "good for me" to nurse him while I am pregnant. He said that since I have a history of pre term labor, it could set it off. I pointed out that usually, by this point in the game, I've already been on bed rest for at least a week. I haven't had a hint ( a true hint ) of PTL at all with this one. Some contractions, but nothing I would be too concerned about. So, I told him, "Sure, okay." And I'll just keep on nursing.

I can't wait untill this babe is born. The Pepcid AC is not working worth a darn and so I go to bed with heartburn from Hell. :firedevil

Okay, enough. At least I managed to make our front yard look nice!!!!!!

Take care, ladies. Christina, don't worry too much about the move, you can do it. I stressed sooooo much about moving 5 miles. I can't imagine moving to another state. :hug to you.

Christina we moved when dd#2 was only about 8 days old.. We moved from Lower Alabama to the middle of Indiana.. It is normally about a 2 day drive.. But it took us 3 days with a newborn.. Had to stop for all the feedings.. It was hard and stressful.. But it all works out in the end.. I think I would rather move after the baby then before baby is here.. I dont have engery to clean let alone pack right now.. You will be ok .. :love
Lisa I have been just like piss off to everyone around me.. It seems that things are getting to me more then normal.. I know dh will be glad when all these wacky hormones are out of my system.. :LOL

Oh, Gads, I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday and read in Dr Sears' pregnancy book that irritability and moodiness are at their height in the last month of pregnancy. Then, my friend Carrie Beary 77 and I turned all the Babywise stuff around and replaced it with Mothering Mags. That was fun. :LOL

Ah, Spring break is upon me. No more school for a whole, gee, let me see...Lots of days. Yeah, can't do math right now. Don't wanna...

I did not want to have to talk or be nice to anyone. Goodwillhunter-thanks for the research on our lasts days of hormonal weirdness. i am sooo cranky too!! and sick of hearing all the comments, "when are you due? oh my, you look like it could be ANY day. oh wow, you like you're ready to pop." yeah, ready to pop you in the head, moron. and these are comments from people i *like*!! :LOL

i checked into the anemia issue (ice crunching like mad). at my last appt. i was the one who brought it up, and the nurse looks at my chart and says, "oh, didn't anyone call you? your last cbc came back very low in iron. someone was supposed to call you to tell you to start iron supplements." gee, thanks for the info.

so i just started the iron pills and i hope they kick in soon. i am so out of breath and lacking energy all the time. i need to save some up for tomorrow night...i booked another massage client. i know i said i wouldn't, but we REALLY need the $$. it's going to be a long hour!

Good will Hunter,
I always hide the babywise books too!

There must be something hormonal going on. Tuesday I about had a nervous breakdown-it was awful. I was just so stressed to the max I couldnt' stop crying and I've barely cried this whole pregnancy. Now DH is majorly ticking me off and the kids are driving me batty!

I'm ready!

Totally, I agree with you!!! Momma Jubilee, I am anemic, too! I was having problems with being out of breath and tired and and and and and....ice is still my buddy, but I don't crave it like I used to! The iron usually helps within 24 hours.....

As for the massage client, I totally understand. We need cash, too, today!!!!

Hi ladies,

Well, we're moved for the most part! Still have a couple of more loads to get over here but we've started to unpack. Man, I think we are nuts for deciding to do this! I went to the dr on Monday and I'm 1-2 cm dialated and 60% effaced. The dr. *thinks* I'll have this baby before my due date...but she said she hoped it would be another two weeks to get us settled in our new home. I can't believe it's getting so close! And, I'm sure the move hasn't done anything but get things moving along!

I hope everyone is enjoying their week!

Mrs. Edwards, you make me sooooooo jealous!!! I wish mine would come early. He's not even making any sort of budges. Some BH, but not much. Sigh.... He's just hanging around, getting fatter by the second. I know. I'm getting fatter by the second.

I bribed Natalie, my 3.5 year old girl twin with ice cream if she would just SIT on the potty. She did. She didn't go potty or anything, but, well, I promised. I just came home and had some Girl Scout Thin Mint ice cream. :yum

I skipped supper, b/c it wasn't appetizing to me. :scratch I made something I thought I wanted, but by the time I made it, well, I didn't want it anymore. I'm probably going to have a small dinner later consisting of smoked cheddar cheese, whole wheat bagel, mixed fruit and ham. Yummy in my tummy.

I'm seeing some water gain, tho. I don't like that. Makes me nervous.

Hi everyone!

I had strong contractions last night, but it's kind of frustrating because I don't expect them to go anywhere. I had been checking my cervix the last week or so, but decided to wait until after my beta-strep test on Wednesday to check again. I don't know if you can increase your chances of testing positive by checking your cervix early but I'm not taking any chances!

I'm getting so anxious. My next app after next week is the 29th. I'm going to have my grandma come and stay for a few days, becasue I'm going to have my midwife strip my membranes that day. I went into labor with both of my kids after having been stripped, so I'm hoping things go as planned. We don't have anyone here where we live to watch the kids while we go to the hospital so hopefully the baby will come when grandma is here!

It's mine and Dh's anniversary today, nine years! I don't think we are going to do anything though. Luckily we've been on two dates in the last month or so, which we never do so we feel pretty good about that. I think just a nice quiet evening at home will be nice!

The first time I had mine stripped it didn't hurt at all, I barely felt it!

The second time, it was a little uncomfortable but not painful. I wonder why? It must be the technique?? Or, maybe it hurst if your not ready to "go" anyway.

Did it work for you?

I have had contractions on and off and alot of pressure for awhile but when the dr checks me he said my cervix is high and hard So It doesnt look like i will be having mine anytime soon like you.. I am almost 36 weeks! Got a huge box today full of goodies from a friend back home.. She went nuts.. alot of outfits and onsies and blankets and storagebags bibs. She even put in a snugglie carrier and a new leap frog baseball set for when he is about 6 months or so.. I am pretty darn excited.. running out of room in this tiny house for baby things.. Today I dragged out the car seat to take the cover off and wash it and cleaned off the base etc. We will be putting that in the car this week.. Got his bag all packed not mine though.. will do that soon.. My back has been hurting all day today like right in between my shoulder blades.. Sucks.. I broke down and finally called the midwife to day about the internal pop I had on Wednesday. I don't know if any of you saw my other post but I could have sworn my water broke, except there was no gush. I don't *think* I'm leaking but I'm feeling pretty moist so who knows, she said I could come in for the ferning test, but I've been having tons of contractions and I know she would hook me up to the monitor and want to put me on trebutaline too, which I don't want.

Anyway, DH is going to bring home a microscope from work and were going to do the fern test ourselves. He's a bioligist so I feel fairly confident about us doing the test. Should make for a fun evening!

The only thing I'd hate about the baby coming before next week is they will treat me as GBS positive, ugh.

Best wishes Christina!

Well, this morning I lost part of my mucous plug. Not all of it, like I did with Genevieve. I have contractions all the time, but unfortunately, I've contracted with BH contractions since about 14 weeks....so I just attribute any contraction I have now as BH contraction.

Don't be jealous of my progress. I'm sure it's all the physical activity I've been doing with the move...lifting, walking, carrying. Ugh. I'm contracting now just thinking about it.

Oh, and I just want you all to know...I'm in no hurry for this baby! :LOL I'm still comfortable with in my pregnancy...and I know now since this is my second that for me the pregnancy is the easy part!

Christina, :hug to you. I'm with you. Take good care of yourself. Remember that 37 weeks is considered term, so 34 isn't that early. Also remember that, since you've had other children, being dilated 1 cm is actually very normal.

Bellafinn, hope your husband finds what y'all are looking for!!! :LOL much luck to you and again, happy anniversary. You guys rock! :jammin

Mamajubilee, congrats on the paid paternity leave. Wish we had it. Although, DH is using his 2 weeks paid vacation to be home the first two weeks. I'm looking forward to it. He's my best bud, anyway!!!

Christy, settle down, girly! DH told me I overwork myself. I guess you do, too! My back hurts, as well. Guess we should prop our feet up and dream lovely thoughts about chips, salsa, and margaritas!

As for you, Mrs. Edwards, :love, I wouldn't want to be in your moccasins right now. I hate moving. I freak out at the thought of it. Last July, we moved literally 4 miles to a house. I was a nervous wreck for a month.... At least untill the house was organized. the garage isn't organized, but who cares? No one sees it but me and DH, anywyay. Good luck. You ladies have a leg up on me. You're due much earlier than I. Adam is certainly making no moves towards birth... Good for him... Not so comfy for me! Good night.

Hey Christina-take it easy-I have crazy contractions everyday, too. With my dd I was dilated to 4 and effaced at 36 weeks, then at 38 weeks I was dilated to 7 and she still didn't come until almost 41 weeks. I really got my hopes up that she would come early and it was hard to cope when she didn't so this time I'm just ignoring any dilation. Like I'm 3 or 4 now, I checked myself last week, but I also have approximately 10 pounds of baby sitting on my cervix right now. I'm still not "due" for 5 weeks. I would feel better if they kept on cooking. Good luck and enjoy the rest you can get!

Well, I had a fun night. At 130AM. I woke up and was feeling contractions. So, I went and got a glass of water. Still feeling contrax. Then I decided to go to the bathroom. Still contrax. Fine. I moved around, trying to get into a comfortable position, and the contrax kept on coming. So, I went into Labor and Delivery at 4AM this morning. Apparently, the contrax were strong and regular, not like BH at all. They gave me an intraveinous dose of Nubain and Phenergan. WOW. Boy, was I out of it. The contrax slowed down to a dull roar. My OB came in and said I was 50% effaced and soft. So, I'm on bedrest untill next Thursday. :( My MIL came and took the twins and so it's just me, DH, and Hunter untill Sunday night, when Connor comes home. Then, my mom will take Connor and Hunter. I'll be all by my lonesome. Sigh. Anyway, that's it for me, I'm still groggy from the drugs....

Christina, you and I are exactly one day apart on our due dates. My doc wants me to hit 36 weeks at least. I don't think that will be a problem, it was just interesting because I kept on telling myself that I would wait untill the next contraction to go into the hospital. My mom and dad got irritated with me that I drove myself there, but, as I put it to them, did they really want me to wake them up at 4 am so they could watch our kids? We only have Hunter right now and he is asleep. It's kinda weird not having all of them. Anyway, I'm still groggy, so I'm gonna call it a night.

I guess I'm done with work 3 days earlier than I thought.... Because of this, we just lost 300 dollars. Shit. Oh, well, we'll manage.

Wow, everything is getting so exciting around here. I haven't been around for a while, as we are in the process of buying a house- ughh! We are set to close on April 9th, six days after this baby is due! What a crazy time. I think my little girl is going to stay put til the due date- as of a week ago, no dilation, not effaced at all. That was at 36 weeks. Now I am 37 w 2 d. I am not ready for the baby yet, either. Although at work I had a huge shower and let's just say I am glad I hadn't really bought any clothes before that. I will be doing lots of laundry today; first I need to go buy some Dreft. I will be thinking about you mamas who are trying to keep your babies in a few more weeks. I have a dr's appt this Tuesday; hoping for a little dilation action. I don't want all 10 cm to come on delivery day like last time!!

Wow, some of us are moving along!!!! I hope all is well- keep those babies in there until you hit that 36 week mark. Sorry about the bed rest but I guess you gotta do what ya gotta do.
Well, we are due in 3 weeks and i am nowhere near where alot of you mamas sound. I have a few contractions during the day, but not like what I am hearing...............I will go into labor someday. I know that this is my last time being pregnant and I am not having any major problems so I feel okay staying prenant for a few more weeks, I will enjoy it while I can.
Stay healthy and happy--
Christymama- we were wondering if you get to ride the hour and a half to the hospital in your dh's fast police car with the sirens wailing?? (my dh and ds really hope so!!!!!!)
If you do not want to be alone at the hospital, maybe you coould start some ways of inducing yourself while your mom is there?? There are many safe and effectives ways.....

LOL Love2all! Dh wont put me in the police car! He wont want to clean it out and the back seats are hard plastic! He is a dork! But he is my dork :) Well my due date is the 14th but the dr was gonna induce me in my 39th week which is the week of the 7th .. This was with me asking him too because I am afraid of going into labor here and not making it to the hospital in time. So I just have to make it until the 13th .. That way he will induce me then instead of the 7th ..I am sure he wont have any problems waiting another week... I just hope baby will last that long.. I to am nowhere near where most of the mamas are here. I am not effaced or dialted one bit.. He is checking me each week though so we will know where I stand being so far away.. Oh well... Just gotta hold out until the 13th!!:thumb

I'M BORED BORED BORED BORED BORED BORED. Can't do housework. Hunter won't play with me (isn't that a change?) :LOL DH is bored, too, since we only have one kid. Hunter is just laying on the floor, playing with Mardi Gras beads and singing to himself. My friend, Liz, came over and brought her little boy. They stayed almost 3 hours. I thought I was gonna kill 'em before they left! :LOL I felt bad feeling that way, but Liam and Hunter started fighting over stuff, and that was enough. blah. Maybe DH can set up the air mattress in the middle of the floor, so I can "pretend" I'm on bedrest.

Hunter is BORED, too! He just keeps on walking around singing to himself. sigh. You know, the funniest thing last night, I was sitting there in the bed reading a book and I got up to go potty and I WAS WET!!!!! I thought my water had broken. Nope, just the bed had sprung a leak! :eek :help

So, DH had to pull all the tubes out of the bed and figure out which one it was. That was an education. How do you tell a man that the black spots on the tubes of his bed(it was his bed before we got married) are mildew? He said it was "discoloration." I said, "Au contraire, mon amour." He laughed. I got a wet diaper (water wet, not pee wet) and wiped everything down with lemon oil and water.

That's the extent of my fun last night. :wave See ya! Wish I could be ya!

Hey, Christina, I'm right there with you on that bedrest thing. DH is talking to Duncan and Natalie right now (our twins). Connor (our oldest) came home at around 430PM and Hunter is overjoyed. He's been annoying Connor ever since. :hammer

We watched Ocean's Eleven this afternoon. :drool Brad Pitt, George Clooney, AND Matt Damon. How much cooler could it get? I've been bored, so I've been eating a lot more. I am soo full of unhealthy STUFF it's sickening. I can only guess that I've gained about 35 pounds in two days. :LOL

I miss my kids. :crying

goodwillhunter can you get up or are you on strict bedrest? Iam putting myself on bedrest. because of the contractions are you still getting them Iam here and there they are not as bad but what bothers me right now is Iam gett crampy down there but not like it was last night. I just hope she can stay put intil 37 weeks. wasnt your twins preemees or am I thinking of someone else? if so did they have to have breathing tubes I just dont think I can see my daughter go though that it would hurt me so much. Iam hoping these contractions will die down here soon.

Technically, I am allowed to get up to eat, go potty, and take a QUICK shower. Now, have I been following that? Hell no. I can't sit still that long. I gotta move. I gotta do stuff. Of course, I'm not running 'round the house, cleaning, cooking, doing laundry, raking leaves, cleaning the backyard... I've cleaned the kitchen twice (put dishes in dishwasher), sat on the floor and folded laundry, ummm... yeah, that's it. I've also moved to the couch to watch Ocean's Eleven, and now, I'm sitting at my desk, ignoring the fact that I need to balance the checkbook. I do feel pretty crappy on the contraction front, tho, I think I do need to take a nice warm bath to see if they might go away.

Edited to add:

Yes, my twins were born at 36 weeks. No biggie, actually. They had to spend 6 weeks in NICU.

Hunter was born at 36 weeks, also. No NICU time.

the discoloration is the legs have gone. But they are still a bit tingley.. I am gonna have to talk to my dr tuesday when I go in there about it. And if it gets worse I will call him sooner.. I am really starting to think it is from the way he is laying. I have no other symptoms of anything. No veins sticking out on the legs.. No fevers or dizzyness or anything. Headaches. Nothign like that.. Just the whole leg issue. I havet gained that much weight and I am not overweight either.. Maybe its to much time here on the computer! Well I dont know its bugging the crap out of me though. I just needed to come in here and vent about it..
Christina and LIsa you both need to stay in bed and keep them babies in there a bit longer.. Well I am about to go to bed and put my feet up and catch up on some letters to family and friends.. I will check in tomorrow.. Hope you are all well mamas:wave

Had a rough night of contractions Saturday night, I almost went to L&D but they said they'd put me on Trebutaline so I didn't go and thought I'd take my chances. Everything died down so that is good. I'm 36 weeks this week so they won't try to stop me now if I go.

It took me until Saturday to be convinced that I'm not leaking amniotic fluid, but glad about that!

It's hard to not get excited with all the contractions thinking they will bring around the baby becasue last time I had them all the time too and still didn't deliver for weeks!

All these contractions have at least gotten me *regular* though, LOL!

I'm trying to keep in good spirits, it's been hard though.

Squishy and Good Will: hang in there!

Chrisymama: Hope your legs feel better soon.

wow, there's so much going on with you mamas! i hope everyone is doing well today...

i haven't even had any BH (well maybe one or two in the last couple of weeks). i want her to come early though!! not too early of course, but i am in week 35 right now and i'd be totally fine if she decided to show up around week 37/38 - my due date is Apr. 17.

i am soooo sick today - either a severe cold or bronchitis. and dh was supposed to be leaving town tomorrow for four days...then i talked to him today and he said, "no, i'm leaving tonight!" :angry :crying he was going to leave straight from work and not even come home first! i was not happy. i've barely had the strength to move today, so i told him he HAD to come home before he leaves for the week. at least i can squeeze in a nap.

i've been on the phone with everyone i know practically asking them to come help me out this week...we'll see.

take care mamas...stay rested!!

i told him how upset i was that he failed to communicate effectively with me about his plans. also, that i was disappointed that he was so anxious to leave when he doesn't actually have to be there until tomorrow morning. i just asked him to come home before he left...and he did! he came home around 2:30 today, made me lunch, did some cleaning, and watched ds while i napped for two hours!! :thumb
i felt so much better, although i'm still not looking forward to the week ahead. i feel like such a wimp right now.

Sorry mamajubilee, I know how awful that can be, hang in there!

Squishy, I'm bored too.

Chritymama, good luck at your app, let us know how it goes!

My app is tomorrow.

Well, I'm trying to keep my mind off things, for the first few weeks of contractions every time I kept thinking "is this it?", now it's driving me nuts. I've decided to give up on them, and try not to get too excited until I see some bloody show or something. I've driven myself crazy up to this point!

We got snow last night!!! UGH! I want spring, all my daffodils were up and in buds, now they're under snow! It's cold again and I want my sunshine back!

I need to super duper clean the house today-kids room is a wreck!

I think I waited too long to address the sleeping situation in our house, both the kids are in bed with us and I know there is just not going to be room for 5, especially when one is a newborn. I bribed my daughter into her room (which she has NEVER slept in) with a TV. The rule is only PBS, so last night it was some piece on Tupperware, she loved it though (she's only 5). We made it half the night so it's a start. It's so tough, I don't want to make this traumatic for her, but she really does need to be in her room now. I wish I wouldn't have started sooner though, I don't want her to have any ill feelings with the baby coming very soon!

Everyone have a good day!:wave

Wow... things sure have been going on w/ all of you...
Contractions, bedrest, visits to the hospital! I'm sure that's not fun.

Things have been boring here by comparrison. However, yesterday I hurt myself pretty badly. I picked up my ds to carry him to the bedroom, he was not behaving and was struggling.
Somehow, it feels like I pulled my muscles waaay down low in my pelvic area. It's been hard to walk and sit and lay and move. I took some tylenol and a bath last night, and was hoping to feel better this morning. It feels a little better, it is getting easier to walk but it still hurts to move and get up and down. I go to the Dr. tomarrow for my regular appt.

Good Afternoon, fellow pregnant ladies...

I have returned from the world better known as Antepartum. I had to go back to the hospital on Sunday night for contrax. More phenergan and nubain. Fun for the whole family!!! :nut

They kept me for a night for observation. Not much going on. I decided to stay another night b/c I can't always guarantee that I won't just get up and start cleaning. However, DH came by on his lunch break and told me that Hunter woke up asking for Mama, so I decided to bail. My doc said that is fine, but if I start contracting again, he'll have me back in there so fast my head would spin!!! :LOL He knows me well. So, I'm just chillin'. Eating Chips and Queso. I had an ultrasound done yesterday and the babe is at about 5 or more lbs. They say I'm measuring two weeks ahead. I think Adam wants to get outta here!

Hope everyone else is well.

Just a bump!

thought I would say hi! Can't believe we're just about here! We've got 10 days til EDD and I can hardly believe I'm prego some days!! Except for that pesky extreme exhaustion thing going on.

Oh, and we can't have a homebirth (MW thinks we're too far from a hospital and I'm GBS+), but I don't mind too much!

This is the last baby, it's so sad, I feel like it's gone by so fast.

Oh, and we can't have a homebirth (MW thinks we're too far from a hospital and I'm GBS+), but I don't mind too much!

You might want to check out gentlebirth.org pages on GBS. I am positive, and what we ended up doing was getting a giant shot of penicillin at 37 weeks, an amount proven to last through 42 weeks at a high enough concentration in me and the baby's cord to prevent GBS. We are very close to our non-backup hospital, and while I would prefer to treat only if I have risk factors in labor, I know I don't want to transfer to that nightmare hospital. We felt the pen injection was our best bet.
