This is alittle long.

We are living with the in-laws right now and have been for a year. My son does not have his own room. He has a toddler bed but will not fall asleep in it. He does not fall asleep for the night till 1,2 sometime 3 in the morning. He has to fall asleep in our bed then I will move him to his bed. He use to be on a real good scedual before we move to PA (moved with the in-laws) but now it is shot.
We have tried to lay down in bed and have him lay by us YEAH RIGHT he pulls my hair. I feel like it is all my falt becasue we have the TV on at night to entertain him so maybe he will fall asleep. That does not work so now when we turn it off he just goes over there and turns it back on. We have unpluged it and he crys and wakes up everybody in the house. There is 8 people in the house so that makes a problem when he crys. The sis-in-laws room is next to ours and she gets home from work at 2 in the morning and if he is crying she gets upset because she wants to go to sleep. So that means the TV goes back on. Daddy can not stay up with him because he has to get up at 5 in the morning and I try to stay awake, that does not work because I am pregnate. So here he comes and pulls my hair and now I am awake for awhile. We have tryied reading to him that does not work.
We have to figure something out because when the baby is born...well we are going to have a problem. With him being awake and the baby asleep and if he starts to cry most likley the baby is going to wake. :crying
I don't know what to do. I feel like a bad mother:bawl I am always tired:o
Please help
Thanks for letting me vent.

Congratulations on the pregnancy!

Have you reassessed your daytime/napping schedule? What time does he wake? When are his naps? How much sleep does he get altogether? It may be a matter of just readjusting his daytime schedule. Also...there are a lot of folks in the house...could there be too much stimulation towards bedtime to get him in a quiet mood?

If you think the TV is the problem, maybe it needs to be taken away completely and replaced with a quiet lullabye tape or better yet, total silence and boredom.
