moving quotes to new thread

How do I take a quote from a different message and post it on my new entry? For example, if I want to comment on a line in someone's entry how do I "cut and paste" it to my new post? Let me know if I need to clarify. Thanks.

If it's in the same thread, you can go to their post and at the bottom you will see a button marked "quote". Clicking on that opens a new post for you to type in, with their whole post there too. Delete the bits you don't need to quote, go out of it at the end, and start typing.

Otherwise, and if it's in a different thread, highlight what you want to quote and click Ctrl C to copy it. Then in the thread you want, open up a reply window, and click on the Quote button (2 lines above where you type). A second small window will open, click in there and press Ctrl V to paste. Click return and it is in your post.

Doing it the first way tells you who the quote is from, but the second way doesn't.
