Looks like there are lots of Montana folks here! Wish I lived near all of you:crying It can get pretty lonely around here.
So if there's anyone around Yankton, I'd love to hear from you!

I don't know... I just moved to Watertown, SD. I'm not really familiar w/ where Yankton is... Doesn't seem like there's anyone here?

Hi Sarah!
Unfortunately (for me!) Watertown is about 3 hours or so north of Yankton. I'm almost right on the Nebraska border. Where did you live before Watertown?

That's too bad! We moved here from South Bend, IN although we are originally from MN. We are much closer to family here but I miss my friends (and my ds's little buddies too) in South Bend. We moved here a couple of months ago and I haven't found any friends yet.

It's really hard moving to a new place, I know! My husband and I lived here in Yankton when we were first married. When my daughter was around 15 months old, we moved to Mitchell. Right after my son was born, we moved back here to Yankton and most of the people we knew from the first time are all gone :( It's really hard meeting up with new people, especially those who have the same views of parenting!
Where in Minnesota are you from? My husband and I are both natives of the state. I'm from Mankato, and he's from Lake Wilson.

We have moved around a lot in the last several years. My dh went to college in Grand Forks, ND and so we lived there (well actually EGF, MN) for a couple of years and then he got the job in South Bend, so we were there for a couple of years. Now we are here, because of his new job here ... hoping to stay put for at least 2-5yrs.
Before all of that I went to college in Mankato for a couple of years! My hometown is about 45min. from there - Glencoe, MN... its only 2-3hrs. from Watertown which is nice cuz my mom likes to come and visit. My dh is from Richfield (Mpls.)

Sarah,
What a small world! We might have even been in Mankato at the same time. I graduated from high school and started college in Brookings in 1995.

Hi Hannah!
You're a little closer to me than Sarah in Watertown! I have a few friends around the Sioux Falls area, but lately I haven't been getting up there very often. Are you a wahm?

Yes, we are pretty close to each other. :) dh has an aunt and uncle that live there during the summer. They live in TX during the winter...wimps :p lol
I am a WAHM. I have www.OrganicHideaway.com and I co-own www.auntbsdiapers.com. We are changing that around a little now since we just bought another company in January. It's a lot of fun getting to know the customers and now friends that we have made during the time we have been open.

No, I'm pretty young... lol. I graduated highschool and started college in Mankato in 1998. It's funny, my friend from Brookings went to college in Mankato - the opposite of you!

Sarah,
You graduated from high school the same year as my little brother then :) I remember there were a number of kids from my graduating class who went to various schools in South Dakota. Anything to get away from home, I guess!

Hannah,
I wasn't able to get to Aunt B's Diapers, but your Organic Hideaways store looks really neat! Do you carry hemp diapers? I've only used cotton, but my son is such a heavy wetter that I'd like to try something more absorbent.

Well, even if there isn't anyone (at least not yet) close to me, it's nice to know you're all out there somewhere! :) Nice to meet you Carmen and Gossamer! And hey, Sandra! It's been a long time since I've made it to Sioux Falls just to hang out, but I'll definitely keep you in mind.

Hey everyone! I'm doing pretty good even though it's been a hard year for my family. My mother-in-law passed away last month after a yearlong battle with cancer.
It's funny that you sent a message tonight. I was just thinking today about how long it had been since there had been any messages here and thought I should post something.
How's everything going for everyone else?

I'm sorry to hear of your MIL's passing :hug
I was just thinking of this thread because I talked to my mom tonight in Yankton. Thought I'd try to catch up with everyone since it's been so long since we posted here.
I was up in the area in Sept/Oct. taking dd2 to the Dr 3 times a week :irked:
