So we have been trying since September and have not had any success. My doctor said that she would do tests in June if I was not pregnant by then (since I am almost 35 and have had another baby). I know they do a sperm count for guys but what do they do for me? How do they tell if I am ovulating or not? I have been using an ovulation kit but don't really know if I am reading it correctly. I get a line but don't know if it is dark enough or not. Why are those things so hard to read?

UG! I am so frustrated with all of this. Just wondering what to expect. Thanks in advance.

Hi texassuz:wave :wave

If I remember correctly first my dr did bloodwork on me to check all the necessary levels, then he did a semen analysis on dh, then I think they to a dye test to check my tube, then a post-coital test. None of those were too bad. There is a site called ivfconnections.com and they have a ton of fertilty information. Good luck.

Hey Suz! :wave

In the middle of it right now...

First they did blood work - testosterone, thyroid, DHEAS, cholesterol, insulin.
And an ultrasound to rule out PCOS.

The next thing for me is an HSG...a test with dye inserted into your uterus and tubes to rule out abnormalitites and blockages.

Following that will be specific cycle day blood work, tests to see if my eggs are good, more blood work I am sure, pH tests, etc.

Usually they want to put you on some sort of med to make sure you are ovulating. Usually first step is clomid, and they will do blood work to determine if they are working and so on.

Sorry I am a little spacey tonight, so I hope that made sense. :D
