Hey Mom2Cora!! Congrats to you! I just found out a couple a days ago and am due 12/7. This is my 2nd also. I'm already bulging a little and feeling my stomach stretch and I am only 12 dpo. I hope you say yes because now I'm thinking twins.
I didn't know they had these due date baords!! I started a thread in the I'm Pregnant section. Glad we're here now!! Can't wait to get to know you!

Hiya Coleslaw!! Congrats!!
I'm bloated and having major round ligament pains already! I dont think I remember having those til close to the 2nd tri last time around. But this was actually my first first symptom before I even tested.
We had taken clomid this cycle so our chance of twins goes up about 10% or so, so thats been a big topic of discussion..I REALLY dont want twins! :LOL
Other than the pains and fatigue, I'm feeling really good so far :)

We just found out yesterday that we're expecting #2 as well - also on 12/7! Of course now I've convinced myself that since I've told some people I'm prego that AF will start tomorrow. This after using 5 tests... ;)

So, my fellow pearl harbor girls, are either of you wicked paranoid that your period is going to start tomorrow?? I'm 13dpo today, & it always starts on 14dpo.
I just want to be pregnant so darn bad!!
I took 2 FRER on 11 & 12 dpo, the first was incredibly faintly positive, and the 2nd is faint. I just don't want another chemical pregnancy :(
AAAhhhhh.
So I can stop worrying about a chemical pregnancy in another week, I figure, and then I can just concentrate on getting through to the 12 week mark.
I forgot how stressful the beginnning of pregnancy is :LOL

Can you tell me what a chemical pregnancy is? Now I'm freaking out! :(
I am worried I'll start, too, I've heard that some people have had positives and then still gotten AF. All I can do is wait I suppose, but I thought the waiting part was over...
Kundalini-Mama
03-29-2004, 02:15 PM
oh jeez, I didn't mean to give you another stress :hug
A chemical pregnancy is basically just what you said, you get a :+ , but then you start your period a couple of days later, and it is usually a little heavier and a little longer. I had one back in November.
I've been doing some Reiki on my uterus :LOL , but I also have been doing a lot of imagery of a little embryo digging deeper into my uterine wall.
All we can do is wait it out, as you so noted.
:hug
:sticky :sticky :sticky :sticky to all of us

Welcome Heidi and Amy!!! Good to see you! Pretty funny to all be due on the same day!
Amy, yes I still keep thinking this is all going to go away. But everyday I feel progress with my little one. I feel the extra blood flowing through my heart. And I am already seeing an increase in my belly! :eek A good thing, yet...
I am also worried because I have been so very sad lately. One of our two cats, the one that took to me much more, was killed by a car on Sunday morning. I won't go into the details of the day, but luckily a neighbor told us and we found her instead of wondering forever what happened. She was the cutest cat ever, really. And the best personality, so easy going, quiet, but not silent. Lots of things. So I have been crying my eyes out whenever I am separate from my dd (I scared her the first day when the news came by crying). So anyway, I feel so badly that this little one is starting off his life with his Mommy in mourning. I keep thinking the stress will weaken him and he'll "let go." But so far, he's a strong one!
When are you all telling people? We haven't told family yet, but I let a couple of friends know. Ooops!
Mom2Cora
03-30-2004, 09:44 AM
Congrats All!!
I'm definately worried, I am 5 weeks today and m/c'd at 5 weeks in 2001 so I'd like to get past this day :)
I have low progesterone and had to take suppositories with DD, but this one is a clomid baby and my progesterone looks really good so far. I'm just scared that my body will stop producing it one day. I'll be much less worried once we hear the heartbeat. I have my first prenatal on the 26th and I'll be 8w6d but dont think we'll be able to hear it then.
We have told both sets of our parents and our siblings, one of my grandmothers and our best friends. Jason also told 2 of his professors :LOL
I wish you all healthy pregnancies and babies!

I'm due with #2 on December 6. :) Still edgy...after the stress of TTC, the stress of the beginning of pg seems like "happier" stress, but still, it is stressful! I'm feeling great, though!

"we" haven't told anyone, but I've told some close friends and my mother. Dh doesn't want to tell anyone yet just in case... I tell him to stop trying to to jinx it! Tomorrow I'm taking another test, I'll be 30 days then.
Coleslaw - I'm so sorry about your kitty! I hope you feel better though!
AmyD - so is that the same thing as an early m/c or something completely different??? I'm so clueless here... :D

Yeah, a chemical pregnancy is essentially a very early miscarriage- what in the past would have just been passed off as a late period, or not noticed at all. They're "becoming" more common because of how sensitive hpts are. I had one in December. :-( However, I will be tenatively joining you.
I've taken about 5 tests over the past two days, all of which have been faint positives. I'm nervous that I'll have another very early loss, but I feel hopeful that this is a sticky. I think I'll feel relieved when I get to 6-8 weeks, and even more so once I pass week 13!
I expect this babe will make an appearance by Christmas. There will be no sharing of due dates from this mama as I don't want folks to be asking, "Isn't that baby here yet?" for the last 6-8 weeks. So my answer to "When are you due?" will be "Sometime between Turkey Day and New Years, whenever she's ready."
Oh, and at this point, I don't plan on telling ANYONE until I hit the second trimester. I want to relish in the secret knowledge, yk? I might just wait until I start to show, which I think would be very funny. People will think I'm just starting to get fat again!

Well my period was due yesterday, and thankfully, a no-show. :clap :clap
I'm still incredibly nervous, and like you said laurata, I will feel much better after 8 weeks, and even better at 13.

HEY Everyone! I have graduated after my very short stay at the TTC board ( I was only there a month, but we have been TTC since July 2003)

Hi everyone! By my LMP I'm due Nov. 29th...by O date my EDD is Dec. 3rd...I'm willing to bet my Dr. moves me to Dec. 1st. (They moved me 2 days from lmp last time). Anyway, I had a chem. pg last month ... I tested so faint it was barely visiable at first and got a little darker with FRER at 10 dpo. This time I tested at 10, 11, 12, & 13 dpo and each day + and each day slightly darker. 13 dpo was an e.p.t. and it was a good 2nd line. We told family the next day and friends a few days later. I had sore breasts, dizziness, mood swings, frequent urination and very vivid dreams during the 2ww...and it continues. No morning sickness yet!

I was thinking about this when I woke up this AM for my usual temp. taking; I've had really vivid dreams for about a week -week & 1/2 now and I had forgotten that I had them while PG with DD. Still no morning sickness though, although I've been gagging a lot lately... They should invent a shorter toothbrush for pregnant women. :D

Welcome Tara and Alex!!!
mommyheidi, the toothbrush gagging was my first symptom with my first. It was terrible!! So sorry it's happening to you.
After feeling my body changing every day almost all day for about a week, things have quieted down. I feel a very distant feeling of nausea, but crossing my fingers that this pg will be different!!

Try getting an electric toothbrush. since it has a smaller head, it doesn't cause (me) the same problems as a normal brush. Of course, then there's the gargling issue. *sigh*

Heidi, I wanted to glet you know I was a toothbruxh gagger all of my life and it quadrupled when I was pregnant with Bailee. I have a trick and I swear it works , but it feels funn when you first do it and is messy...lol
Stick your tounge out while brushing your back teeth, it keeps the gag reflex from engaging and thus kept me from puking in the first trimester!( well at least while brushing anyway:LOL) Try it , & let me know if it helps;) Good Luck!
sorry for the typos, i jammed my middle finger and it hurts like he*l!!! ( I don't have an excuse for all the other times I have them:shrug)

Hi Ladies. :)
Glad to see a couple familiar faces! Hope to see many more in the days to come.
And, of course, its nice to meet those of you that I DON"T already know. :hippie
(after a day long search) I have my first appt with THE ONLY MIDWIFE I COULD FIND IN MY AREA on Wednesday... honestly, I didn't get a good feeling from her when I called on the phone... She sounded annoyed and distracted... so I hope I don't end up having to go the normal, hospital route by default if she's as bad in person. Maybe my first impression was off?
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and wish all of you 9 months of easy-breezy bliss!

Kris;
If you do end up having a "bad" vibe from the midwife, I would recommend looking into ob/gyns that give you a better feel. My dd is 2.5 - I live in a rural area and when I was pg with her, I visited the only midwives nearby and did not get a good feeling - very brisk, distracted environment; their answers to my questions were not very in depth or thoughtful, etc. I kept looking and found an ob that I LOVED. He was a man - I always envisioned that I would have a female midwife - but I never had any regrets. He spent hours with my dh and me over the course of our pregnancy, answering all our questions and concerns with the greatest thoughtfulness and care; he had great respect for my own knowledge and intuitions about my body; he respected and supported our birthplan (we wanted to go all natural, no meds, no interventions unless there was some unforseen emergency, and he supported that 100%), and he supported our having a doula present at the hospital for the entire labor. And in the end, after 36 hours of arduous, drug-free labor, and after pushing (drug-free) for FOUR hours (!!), it became clear that we did need some interventions - I accepted some pain medication to see if that would help my pushing become more effective, and when that failed (dd was not budging despite four hours of very strong pushing) I ended up having a C-section. It turned out that dd was transverse (lying sideways), which, before the advent of interventions such as C-section, was usually fatal for both mom and baby. Anyway, we did not go into labor wanting or anticipating a C-section, but I felt so grateful for the wonderful care we got throughout - and my dr's willingness to let us go through with the whole, long, trying labor - and supporting us throughout - even though he probably suspected the outcome once dd's head did not present "normally" and she did not advance into the birth canal despite me being fully dilated and beginning to push, and push....
I have friends who used the midwives because they really did not want a "medicalized" birth, and I really feel that I had better care, and that I felt better about the whole birthing experience. There are a few friends who were let down by the midwife's absence during most of the labor, and for those who ended up needing interventions, they felt as if they were turned over anonymously to the dr's, where I felt supported by a dr I knew and trusted, and who I knew absolutely supported our wishes. And having a doula also made a BIG difference. She is like a birth assistant, and supports you throughout the whole labor and delivery. If you have to be in a hospital, having a doula with you is a great way to ensure that you get lots of personalized care. She will help speak up for you and support your birthplan if you have drs or nurses accustomed to interventions that you do not want or need, she'll give you massages, give you and your dh emotional support, etc...
Now I have to figure out my options for #2...my ob and the hospital where I delivered her will not do a VBAC (small hospital, no intensive care or NICU). The nearest hospital that will do a VBAC is over 2 hours away. There is a midwives group there that supports VBAC. I am going to call them soon...
Good luck finding a caregiver you can trust!

I've come to out myself :) . The online dd calculator told me that i was due 11/29, but I always run long, so I am due sometime the first week of December by MY calculations. I have only told three people IRL (my spouse and two co-workers)...I am superstitious I guess. I am also kind of afraid to tell my boss...this might put him over the edge.
My jeans are getting a little snug already  This will be baby #3 for us and we are very excited. :D

Hi, sadean. Nice to meet you!
coleslaw, :wave we just had our positive hpt on Tuesday. :) nice to see you!
Kristi, thank you so much for being so open about your experience.
I've been struggling a bit with the whole birth-choices thing, because it seems like we don't have alot of midwives to choose from in this area. (any midwives in Philly seem to be directly in center city and I'm out about 1/2 hour to an hour away from town--depending on traffic.)
I also don't like the idea of having to pay 12 bucks for parking every time I have a prenatal visit... not to mention "how the heck am I supposed to get to the office when it's time to deliver?" -dh doesn't drive and I'm not about driving myself to the midwife's office to deliver a baby, thank you very much.
Meanwhile, we have a decent hospital just down the street from us and I'm thinking about gathering more info on their ob department. I know that they do not have any affiliation with a midwifery practice, as I have checked, twice.
Then, I think... I'll be 35 when I deliver and this is my first... maybe I do need to have a doctor around... I have no idea how well I'll deal with the pain. (or NOT deal with the pain) I dunno.
I guess I've got LOTS to think about.

Hi Sadean - welcome!
Kris - I'll be 37 yrs old when I deliver and this is my first baby also! I still don't even believe I'm pregnant yet because other than fatigue and sore breasts, I feel pretty good!!!
Kristi - I'm going to try to talk with a nurse midwife who is also a nurse practitioner, and a birth center that has lay midwives here in town. I work as a nurse in the ER at the local hospital and most of the staff there have negative things to say about the birth center. I believe that is because they always get the births gone wrong. So........ I feel I need to carefully research the place and try to get an unbiased view.
Hi coleslaw!!!!!!!! I'm coming back East in June. I look forward to some nice warmth!!!
Welcome mama2kyla and Lauren!
I'm very early on in this pregnancy (only 1 week late) and I've never been pregnant before; when will I start "feeling" pregnant??? I'm almost afraid to believe it right now!

Hi Everyone,
Posting this just feels so momentous! I tested postive yesterday and think that our second is due in early December. This little one is totally unexpected so I'm still not entirely sure of due date----figure that she or he will come whenever ready. We haven't told anyone yet. Probably going to wait a few weeks before putting word out. We're still sort of in excited shock....thrilled and marveling that this little being somehow snuck into our lives. Wow! I'll be 44 in two weeks and wasn't at all sure that we'd have another.....
I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you.

I'm feeling really upbeat and confident, but I wish I was feeling more symptoms. I know every pregnancy is different, but it would be really reassuring if I started throwing up... :Puke

Hi all - It looks like I may be joining you all here!
I got a SHOCKING positve test today! I was not at all expecting it. DH and I had decided to wait on TTCing until December - LOL! We only bd'ed 1x before O and it was cd13 - I usually O on cd 17/18 and it seemed I did the same this cycle......so who knows!
We are suprised but very happy! I am planning on a homebirth (my first!) and already am in contact with a midwife who seems good (and was highly recommended) We will met face-to-face next week sometime.
I just hope this little one sticks - I had a m/c after my first and it still worries me....

Not everyone gets morning sickness. I've never had serious morning sickness. I NEVER threw up with my second at all. I did only twince while pregnant with my first- both when I took an iron pill on an empty stomach! I had tiny bits of quesiness with both, but nothing worse than I get after I ovulate. (I always feel quesy after ovulation. Weird, huh?) Now I'm 5 1/2 weeks with baby 3, and no nausea. If you get it, many women have it hit around 6 weeks.
sadean
04-07-2004, 11:25 PM
SamImNot- Welcome! As for your question about nausea, with my first, i didn't have any nausea...I had some smell aversionswhich started at about 9 weeks, but no "I'm gunna hurl". I puked once trying to down 48 ounces of fluid in a 15 minute time for an ultrasound ...but that was it. With #2, I threw up a couple of times...because of motion sickness (but related to pregnancy...I don't get motion sickness any other time). With this pregnancy, the same so far. i almost puked twice on a 1/2 hour plane trip last week because of turbulance...but I will myself not to because i was sitting next to a traveling pilot and I wanted to have SOME dignity :LOL

My first ever post here and my first pregnancy! We've been TTC for a few months, and I went to the doctor yesterday with a UTI. As she was prescribing me some meds, I said, "wait, there is a small chance I'm pregnant, so you better check before you pick an antibiotic." She came back in beaming and said there was a very faint pink line, but it was there and that I am definitely pregnant!
I am 12 days post-o and my period isn't due until the end of the week. I am so excited and want to tell everyone right away, but I'm going to try and wait. I am very nervous about the so-called "chemical pregnancy." But I'm trying not to let that dampen my excitement.
I am so glad to have found this board--as a first time pregnant lady, I have so many questions! I haven't called my midwife yet (figured I would do that after I miss my period and take a second test to confirm). I am so excited! I feel like the first woman who's ever had a baby! (at myself!)
Online calculators predict the due date is 12/23, but that will probably change when I show my charts to my midwife. Yay! I'm looking forward to getting to know you all over the next 9 months!
