View Full Version : September Mama's Roll Call
chrissy

How about a roll call thread where we all just type some introductory remarks? Then it will be easy to refer back to when we're wondering how far along Caroline is, or who is due closest to me, or whatever.

So, I'll start.
I'm Chrissy, 29, due with my second child on September 28th.
I'm married to Brian, :love
We already have one sweet boy, Noah, who is almost 2 1/2. He'll be 3 on November 14th.
I'm a sahm and love it.
We're planning our first homebirth with a midwife, after an induced hospital birth with Noah.
So that's me! What about you?

Sarah, thanks for taking over the due date list for me when I went AWOL. :o
My intro:
Im Lynsey, 25, mom to 2 kids: Riley - 6 and Paityn - 2 and wife to Bert. We live in DFW, TX with our dog, Noelle.
I am due with my 3rd child on Sept. 22nd (I think) and I am planning my 2nd VBAC and 1st homebirth! I would really like to birth in water, but I know that I might feel more comfy on my bed or floor or whatever...
My 1st son was born by cesarean because of breech presentation and since my pregnancy and VBAC with with Paityn I have been OBSESSED with pregnancy/birth - to the point that I had to become a labor doula. :D
Since Paityns birth I have also become very interested in vaccinations, natural health, vegetarianism (is that a word?)...
Hmm, well thats all I can think of for now.

Hi,
I'm Melissa, 23yo mama to two beautiful homebirthed kidlets, and due Sept 16th w/ another. Both of my other births were w/ midwives, 1st being on "dry land", and 2nd being a waterbirth. This time around I'm planning on a UC, possibly another waterbirth, but won't know that for sure until the big day comes.

Hi! I'm Heather and I am 28. I am momma to Christopher who is almost 17 months old. I am due to have "lil bit" on 9/3/2004. Thanks to HELLP Syndrome, my first pregnancy was induced. This time around the doctor is watching me like a hawk and I am hoping to deliver with very few interventions.

I am Jen the terribly chatty. I am 30 and live in Minneapolis with my dear partner/wife Jo and our two fluffy cats, Sydney and Eddie. I am growing a Sprout due to arrive in this world the first week of September, exactly the week *I* was due to return to my position of teaching German in a local Waldorf school. I hope very much to be able to raise our child bilingually.
I am giving birth at the Methodist Hospital Birth Center and working with their team of midwives prenatally. I have been planning a natural birth since I was about 12, when my mom told me of her experience having me with no interventions and how empowering it was to her, compared to the barbituate-soaked birth of my sister. I would prefer a homebirth but Jo is too chicken to do that!

Hi! I am Caroline, 28 years old. We are expecting our fourth baby, due the first week of September, but we shall see! I am a SAHM, have to be with four kids. We are negotiating our birth right now. We had a lot of complications with Bridget, so we are reluctant to have this one at home, but I am really leaning towards it. I just don't know. I am going for no epidural or anything, but again, negotiable. I had one with my first two, and not with my last. BUT, my second birth was excrutiating, my third didn't hurt at all. So I will see....
That is about it..

Hello! I am Sheryl (had to let myself out of the closet with that), 30 and expecting my first little nugget in September. My official due date is Sept. 4th (Sarah, you have the 5th). I am planning a homebirth, possibly in water, we will leave that up to baby and me when the time comes, but will have a tub ready to go.

Hey all!
Anna here, I am 26 years old and expecting my first child (children?) on September 13th. My hubby and I are both in school, him full-time, me part-time. He is finishing his education (which my job provides him with for free!) and will be student teaching in the fall. I take classes that interest me, for the fun of it and ace them. We have been married less than a year and are feeling pretty overwhelmed about getting ready for being parents.
It is possible that I am carrying more than one baby. My uterus is measuring larger than "expected" for when we think we conceived. It could be that I am simply a month farther along than we thought, but I really doubt that. However I have been stubbornly refusing an ultrasound. So...we'll see.
We lived in Madison, Wisconsin. We have two rotten spoiled kitties whom we adore and detest simultaneously. I love gardening, drawing and doing ceramics.
I am interested in doing a homebirth, however paying out of pocket is looking worse and worse. Also. my understanding is that the possibility of twins may complicate finding a midwife. so for now, it's looking like hospital birth.
So glad I've stopped barfing all the time!!!!

I'm Linda, due with my fourth most likely sometime in mid-late September. (Can I still be on the list even though I don't have an exact date?)
I am 37, a SAHM. My children are 7, 5, and 2 1/2. Two boys and a girl. This will most likely be our last.
My first two were born at home with midwives attending, and my third was a planned unassisted birth, and we are planning the same for this one. You can read a little about my birth philosophy by clicking on the BIRTH link below. :)

Hi, I'm Melanie. I'm 29 and am having my 7th baby.
My first was born in the hospital, and the other 5 were born at home. This one will too.
My 5th was an accidental, on purpose UC. I wanted to have the 6th UC, but my dh wasn't really comfortable with that.
We have 2 boys and 4 girls. I feel like this one is another girl.

I'm Jodie, 25 and married 3years this summer to my wonderful DH.
We are having a homebirth, this will be our first baby. :D
We live in central Alabama with our two fur babies Tara(10) and Zada(6).
I plan on having a waterbirth, but we will see how it all works out at the time.
I'm due around the equinox! When people ask I just say the end of Sept.:)

I'm Heather, 32, due with my third Sept. 24 (my midwife changed my original sept. 30 due date to make it as likely as possible to have a homebirth, as I had dd at 36 weeks, which is the earliest I can legally deliver at home in AZ). Shankar will be four in just over two weeks, and Leela is 13 months. This pregnancy was a very welcome surprise. I'm a stay at home mama, which I love, and dh, Ted, juggles audio book editing and being a painting contractor.
We're planning a home waterbirth with the same wonderful midwives who attended dd's birth. DS was a planned homebirth, but ended up as a hospital birth. (long story).
Hmm, what else? We live in Northern Arizona, which gets pretty hot in the summer when I'll be hugely pregnant, but not as bad as 110 degree Phoenix. Lots of watermelon and lots of time in hanging out in a kiddie pool with my munchkins!

Hi everyone:wave
I'm Carmen, 27, due early September with my 2nd child. DD is almost 19 months old right now and will be just turning 2 when her little sibling is born (she's a September baby too). We are planning a homebirth, probably waterbirth this time around. DD was born naturally in a hospital with a midwife. Although it was a good experience I just want to be comfortable this time.
I hear you Heather about the summer heat and being pregnant! It gets unbearably hot here in Florida in August and September...just when I'm at my biggest. With DD who was born 1st week of Sept. 2002, I rarely ventured outside during the last month or so the pregnancy. It will probably be the same this time. Poor Annabelle will be couped up in the house all summer b/c Mommy's to huge and uncomfortable to be out in the heat. At least the mall has a nice indoor playground that I can take her to. :o

I'm Danielle, age 35, married to Charlie, 38, for 7 years. We have three kids and are due on 9/1 with #4.
As much as I would love a homebirth, we are having a hospital birth again. Can't really afford a homebirth, and Lucy's super-fast birth was kinda scary.

Hi all! I am Sarah 30, married to dh for 9 years. Sahm to 4 great kids and expecting #5 Sept 3. This will be our fifth homebirth. We live in Southern Utah where it will be HOT when this babe comes. I am excited to buy summer maternity clothes as all my other kiddos were born in winter/early spring. I have been a homeschooling mom for 4 years and love it.
boobykinmama, we live 2 miles from the AZ border in St. George, Utah. We are planning a trip down through Page in May. How northern AZ are you?
Have a wonderful day!!

No, I like to save the sexes for delivery day! =O) But I had specifically prayed for God to give us a boy and then identical twin girls. We got the boy, then twins, so we're all expecting that the babies will be identical girls! =O)
I live very close to Sharpsburg!

04-05-2004, 10:21 AM
I'm Lazuli (which I should just change my name to seeing that's the name most people know me by, online and off.) Let's see....I just turned 32 in March and live in the Chicago suburbs with my husband and five cats (Ofanial and Sammael, both 6 and Zorak, Yuki and Enki who are all 2, I think). We've been married almost 4 years and this is our first child. We're planning a homebirth, which both our families are completely against.
Let's see....I'm an aspiring writer who doesn't work and will be a sahm. My husband works for Red Hat as an instructor, which he absolutely loves. I'm an avid reader and I like to sew and tend to make Victorian clothes and I've recently taken up quilting. We don't have cable and our tv doesn't get any channels so the only tv we watch is movies and anime on dvd. I'm also something of a geek and enjoy playing video games and have my own website.
Nice to meet everyone! :)

Hello everyone!
Put me on the list!
Badomama, Steph Adams, will be living in the Twin Cities by June, currently en route. Brain left Tanzania a couple of weeks ago, but body is still here sweating.
Baby Jeri, the gender neutral fetus, is due on September 14 or 11 depending on if you believe the u/s. S/he will be our first. I'm 31 and dh is 35, so we are READY finally. We will have a hospital birth due to insurance constraints, but plan it to be as intervention free as possible.
Hey Anna and dh, maybe I could get my dh to pop in here too since he asks everyday: "so what are the mamas up to today?" He is enjoying this vicariously.
Adventuregirl, I liked the mystery you had going there for awhile.

maybe we could bring your DH into the fold, and then create a new thread within the September mamas? This way, we partners could stop just :lurk: and be active participants without taking away from the vibe that you already have on your other threads. Just an idea...

Hi!
I'm Nancy (28) and I'm due with #2 in late September.
I know when I conceived, so based on that, my date is 09/22. However, we are using 09/26 (based on LMP) to buy me some time if I am "late."
I am married to Robert (32). This is his first baby and birth. Our daughter Emma was born to my first husband, Michael, and I on April 12, 2001. Michael was killed in a car accident when Emma was 5 months old. Rob and I have been married almost 7 months and are 4 months pregnant!
I did not plan to have Emma in a hospital. I had a wonderful waterbirth planned with my midwives on Miami Beach. However, she was breech and didn't want to turn. So, after her due date passed and labor began, we chose a c-section. My midwife's husband did the c-section and it was a wonderful experience, as far as c-sections go! I got my essential oils and special music and even cloth diapers for my baby! However, we were separated for 6 hours, which was horrible. But, when she came to me, she was suckling and started nursing right away. We've been nursing every since!
So - with this baby (Mary Ella or John Michael) we are planning a home VBAC and are super excited about it!

Well, I'm finaly getting around to this...
I'm Sarah, 28, and I've been married to John for almost five years and we have a 20 month old son named Jack. We are living with my mom right now (God help me) and will thankfully be moving out soon. She has been very good to us and is fab with Jack, but the time has come! I work part time as the fiscal director for a children's nonprofit org, which means I fit my former full time job into half as many hours per week.
I plan on having this baby at home (wherever that may be) with the same midwives who were with me for Jack. I transferred to the hospital last time, but after that horrendous experience I will stick it out at home.
I am so grateful for you Sept Mamas. With my last pregnancy I was part of a due date club on AOL, which was better than nothing but also kind of lonely since I was the homebirthing, breastfeeding, cloth diapering, etc. freak!!!

Hey Sisters!
My name is Hillary and I am preggie with my first and "officially" due Sept 24 but I always tell people the end of September.
I am married to a really wonderful man, Joel for about a year now and we are blissed out to be parents. We are living with his parents for the time being for a number of wild reasons but I have arranged to have a homebirth at my parents house where I grew up because I feel more comfortable there. Just the fact that my dad is so cool with this lets me know this is the right place (he thinks our philosophies on life are a little out of this world!)
We are having a midwife but our goal is to birth the rest of our babies (if life should lead us there) in our own home unassisted.
My cat just had kittens and she did it all by herself in the very back of a dark closet and this has given me a lot of inspiration. I didn't even hear her crying or anything.
Anyways, I feel really blessed to have found this site and all you righteous lady-mammas. What a blissed out crazy world we live in.
Happy growing babies!!!

And of course the incubating wonder who will be born end of Sept/early Oct.

Hi, everyone! I haven't written in a while. Work and home are hectic. I had a sonogram today since I'm measuring big and now they think I'll deliver my girl during the last week in August but I'd love to stay on the September Mommies thread since I feel like I know you all.
Jen, I spent some time with my birth family this weekend and thought of you. All three of my uncle's children attend the only Waldorf school in Texas. My aunt went on and on about it. She showed me all of these great things the kids had knitted and some of their art work, too. Here in Texas, Waldorf students learn both Spanish and German. Is that the norm for Waldorf schools? I didn't know much about it until this weekend but Waldorf sounds like the way to go if one can afford it.
At my regular OB appointment last week, the nurse kind of insulted me when she said, "You'll change your mind", in response to my telling her that I didn't want drugs or an epi. Not only was that insulting but she doesn't know me well enough to make that call. On the positive side, I felt movement for the first time about two weeks ago. It is so wonderful! One of my friends says the kicking gets really irritating later on. I guess I'll have to find out on my own.
Anyway, just checking in... good luck to everyone with their taxes!
Love,
Kim

Nice to have you join us! I am from TX also, but up north near DFW... Thats some attitude for a nurse to have, although Im sure its fairly common among people who work in OBs offices. Im sure MOST women do go in and make their desire for drugs very clear. Good for you for letting her know that you are different!
and congrats on feeling movement! I have been also for about 1.5 weeks now, although very inconsistantly. Its so exciting!

Hi all,
I'm Karen. I'm 39 years old. I am expecting #3 (for me, #5 for dh) around Sept. 28, 2004. My first was a preemie (2.5 months) with Down Syndrome. I had him in the hospital (didn't realize I was in full labor at 29 weeks). My second was my dd. She too was born in the hospital. I had so many complications with both though they were both vaginal. I will be having this third in the hospital with a doula. I had this doula for my dd also.
I will be finding out next week if we are having a boy or a girl. The testing so far shows that this baby is going to be healthy. Dd was healthy after some problems with apnea and not breathing at birth.
My first two were born during the winter. I'm not looking forward to the hot humid texas summer for this one.
I'm glad I know of this group while I'm pregnant this time. I didn't hook up here originally until my daughter was 5 months old. I don't feel as isolated this time as I did last time.

Hi
Im Michelle, a new member!
I have 2 wonderful little girls, Brianna was born 9.22.01 via emergancy c-section, after 2 days trying to induce and not going anywhere, and 24 hours of hard labor and not going anywhere!
Sydney was born VBAC 2 weeks before her due date. She came out healthy and happy. She was born 8.21.03.
I did get my tubes tied after having Sydney thinking I was for sure done having children. But god had other things to say about it! I got pregnant in December. (Not even knowing!)
This little miracle from god is due September 18, and its another GIRL! :love

Due with oru third and LAST!! on September 18th.
I have changed practices from an OB (10 to the practice!) to a midwife (with an attending OB) My son was a c-section due to frank breech presentation. Dd was a natural VBAC in the hospital (much to my OB's dismay!) and I am planning on another VBAC with the Midwife - in the hospital. I am too chicken to attempt homebirth -although I think it is wonderful! I would LOVE to try a water birth but the hospital I'll deliver at doesn't have those facilities. :(

Hi! I'm Suzanne, married to Chris for 7 years this Sunday, and our first human child is due Sept. 29th. We're going to a free-standing birth center with midwives; you have the option of water births there, which was really attractive to me.

Hi! :wave I'm Amy. I'm expecting #2 in September and depending on how you calculate our due date it is either September 16th, 17th or 18th....or the baby will have a mind of his own and come when he wants.
We found out last week that he is a boy.
We already have 1 DD who is currently 16 months...she will be 21 months when #2 comes along. Glad to see there are so many of us september mommies!

Hi Everyone, I'm Summer. We are in California now but might be relocating to North Florida before the baby's born... We have 1 daughter, 10, and are expecting Emma to come along 10/19 or thereabouts! Is anyone else on the list in Flordia, particularly Jacksonville/ Fernandine area?

Welcome Summer! Did you mean to type 9/19? Because 10/19 is October, and not that we wouldn't love to have you around here, but you'd be the last one left in the group after we've all had our babies! I have been a really bad typist lately, so maybe you're having the same issue too, damn pregnancy brain! Whenever it is, congrats and best of luck with your move!

Hi all-
I'm Samantha, I'm 33. Married to David for 10 years now. :eek
I have a DD Tori who is 3 and a DS Jack who is 1. They are 2 years and 1 week apart. We'd always said we wanted 2 years between kids... didn't mean almost literally. :LOL
I'm a SAHM now. I live in HUMID Houston, Texas. Both my previous pregnancies were during the winter, I'm not looking forward to being HUGE during the summer.
"Radish" is due Sept 17 currently. The original date was Sept 26 but my u/s moved that forward. The u/s said we are having aother boy. I didn't get to see it at the time (little wiggler), but we think we picked him out watching the tape. :LOL
We are planning another hospital birth, same OB as last two. We've been lucky to not have any major complications with any of them so far. :) We will be cloth diapering #3 also. DD was clothed from 4 months on and DS from 4 days on. Also plan to breastfeed again. Did with other two. DS just recently weaned, my supply when bye-bye with this pregnancy. :(

Hello, fellow pregsters. I came to the site looking for Dr. Jay in regard to a question about my nephew -- but when I saw the due date boards I couldn't resist registering.
So here I am, age 40 and due Sept. 18. I currently have two children, a 9 year old girl and 6 year old boy. This will be my first child with my new husband and we're pretty excited, though I must say I'm WORN OUT.
I see the chatting goes on in the April (?) thread. See ya there.

Hi! I'm Vicki. I live in Indiana with my wonderful husband :couple and our wonderful kids. My son is 4.5 and my daughter is 2. We're Jewish. :tichel: (OK, maybe not quite THAT Jewish).
I never thought I would live in Indiana for so long, but I came in for grad school and I seem to have gotten stuck.:rolleyes Even sillier is that I'm a full-time mother now and not using that degree to earn anything!
More to the point of this thread, I'm also "due" in September. :D My ultrasound gave me an EDD of Sept 4, but my son was born 2 days before his EDD and my daughter was born 7 days before hers, so I expect to go in August. I too am not looking forward to the summer heat. :sunshine
My son was born swiftly and painkiller-free in the local hospital. I disliked birthing in the hospital :irked:, but recuperating in the hospital was very good and made up for the less than fabulous birth.
My daughter was born at home with a really wonderful midwife :love, who I'm using again for this pregnancy. I hope to give birth (at home) before she goes on vacation and she hopes I go after she comes back! (She'll be out of state during my 38th week). Her back-up is a fine midwife and was there also when my daughter was born, but it isn't exactly the same, you know?
I have no official scientific word on the boy/girl question, but feel quite sure that I am carrying a boy. Call it a hunch. He will be our last, well, barring divine intervention! :shrug

I'd like to introduce myself!
I have three children right now; an eight year old dd, a six year old ds, and a dd who will be 4 at the end of August. All are very excited about their new sibling, due somewhere around the first week of September.
We know it's a boy because I had U/S to rule out twins, since they run in my family and I am so much larger than I ever was before!!!I was happy not knowing the sex, as I didn't know with youngest dd, Isabelle, and I got to "call it" myself, having caught her. She was a home waterbirth. However, I asked the kids, and they all voted that they wanted to know. It wasn't a surprise, as "boy" was my hunch, and I'm now three for three correct on those hunches!
We're planning on having another home waterbirth with this one.
Otherwise... I hybridize plants, and am an avid gardener, thus the handle, was a LLL leader for several years, until I moved and haven't hooked up with the local group. So I guess you could say I'm a big advocate of nursing. DS self-weaned when I was 5 mos. pregnant with Belle, and she weaned somewhere between 2 and 2.5, with a bit of encouragement.
That's enough of a tome! I'm thrilled to have found a board where there are like-minded people.

Hey, everyone! I'm Holly. Married 5 yrs to my :love TJ. This is our first child after 5 yrs of trying to conceive with PCOS. I quit my job in medical administration back in Feb after we found out I was expecting. Can't wait to be a SAHM to little Miss Emilia Marie :D
Emi will be born at the hospital. Seriously considered a home birth, but DH wasn't thrilled with the idea. Luckily our local hospital's birthing center is 100% natural birth friendly so I'm OK with that. We're using the midwife, not the OB. We plan to do attachment parenting & cloth diapering, so I've been spending some time on boards related to those as well.
Other than that, I'm just trying to finish up some projects around our house and generally get things ready for Emi's arrival. I love to read and enjoy gardening (although not so much this year :eyesroll ).
Glad to mee you all!

Hi! :hola:
I'm Stephanie and we're (hubby & I) expecting our first child on September 20th. We're having a boy.
We're signed up for a hospital birth. I'm conflicted on the birthing thing, but I think we're decided. We're probably more mainstream than most on this board. We are going to cloth diaper and I'm super excited about that! :) I will be a WOHM after a few months, though, which I know isn't that popular here. But I still enjoying reading and learning from all the mommas here.
Good luck to all you September mommas!

I posted way back in the beginning of this pregnancy, but I got super busy with work and have been MIA since Feb/March. If ya don't mind, I'd love to come back and join you for the rest of this journey.
Here's a brief re-intro:
I'm Pam. I'm 27 years old and work from home FT doing medical transcription. I also just started teaching Bradley childbirth classes. I'm provisionally certified, and basically just need to teach one series and take a final before I have my full certification. Yippee!
I'm 29 weeks pregnant with a little boy! His name is Jackson Eugene. He's a very active little guy. I've had a really easy pregnancy. I'm planning on a birth center birth, but I'm having issues with one of the midwives, so who knows. I'm planning on CDing this guy, which is completely new to me. I've been busy building a NB/small stash and been totally sucked into the diapering boards here.
I'm a mama to Alex, who is three. He's still nursing about twice a week now. I thought that he was going to wean a couple of weeks ago, but then my colostrum came in. He's going to be a great big brother. He talks to the baby everyday and pokes at my belly button, which gets the baby so excited! They're already best buddies.
Last and not least, I'm a wife to my wonderful DH, James. He's a FT law student getting ready to start his LAST year of school. We've been married almost five years. We keep pretty busy between his school, our five jobs, Alex, our dog Nova, and all the other stuff, but still manage to find some time to spend with each other!
Looking forward to meeting and getting re-acquainted with everyone!

Hi Pam! I'm Nancy (28), mom to Emma (3.5), married to Rob, and expecting John in late September.
We just got home from our first Bradley class! I took them while pregnant with my daughter and loved them. I am taking them again because: 1) I figure it's a good bunch of info to review. 2) I am married now to a man who has not previously experienced pregnancy or birth. (My 1st husband was killed in a car accident when Emma was 5 months olds). 3) My sister is the instructor (provisional). 4) I love being having homework that requires relaxing!
Emma nurses quite a bit, compared to others her age. She nurses at least 4 or 5 times a day, I'd guess. She's nursing right now, in fact.
Oh, we use cloth diapers as well. I used them from birth with Emma. For some reason, though, my diapering addiction has gone crazy while preparing for John. I have over 200 diapers!
Take care!

Hi, ladies!
I wanted to go ahead and introduce myself as I am hoping to be a more frequent participant around here. :)
I'm Heather, 23, married to my wonderful DH for 5 years this month. We have one DS, Gabriel, born 03/18/02, and are expecting our second in early- to mid-September. EDD is 09/09/04 by conception, so we'll just see if this little one wants to come on time! We don't know the baby's gender, but I suspect it's a girl (and have thus far bought accordingly!).
Our DS is extremely excited about the new baby and will be here for our home birth, which I'm also thrilled about! (DS was born by c/s, which I think would have been very different had we had the care provider we do now!) We have always been basically AP parents, and are going a step further this time and planning to CD. I'm loving the idea and spending inordinate amounts of time thinking about all the wonderful dipes I'll need. :D
I look forward to getting to know everyone here. :)

Hi Janerose- welcome to the group. Hope to see more of you around.
MamaAcorn- I have a Jackson! Great name! :)
SiValleySteph- Hi Stephanie. I'm having a hospital birth too. Both my previous births were hospital. I'm probably one of the more mainstream posters here too. :innocent But hey the more the merrier. We use the AP things that work for us and our children. :) Careful... cloth diapering can be addictive... ask me how I know :W :W... we've been doing it for 3 years! :LOL
Mommymoses- Hi Nancy. Good to see you over here. I recognize you from Amity. Congrats on your marriage and baby #2 on the way. :)

Hey Heather! I am so glad to see another mama from Texas here, especially one that is having a HBAC! I am having my 2nd VBAC, but first homebirth. My DD is 2.5 and she was born 12 minutes after arriving at the hospital after a labor about 10 hours long - all that just to avoid another cesarean. Am very glad Im getting to avoid that whole hospital drama again!!!
Anyways, welcome!!
Hi, I've been lurking for a while :)
I am 29, been with my partner for almost 6 years now (wow) We have a 4 1/2 year old son & I am due with our second child on September 28th.

P.S. Shecky was wondering about all the abbreviations.... You have no idea how long it took me to figure out that a SAHM was a Stay At Home Mom!!! Here's a little "cheat sheet"
DH = Dear Husband ( Damn, Darling or Devoted.... whatever fits the moment!)
DS = Dear Son
DD = Dear Daughter
LOL = Laugh out loud
WAHM = Work At Home Mom
TMI = Too much Info
BTW = By the Way
YKWIM? = You know What I mean?
Good luck!!! And if I got any of these wrong.... clue me in!!!!

Well, here I am right about 32 weeks, and feeling like Goldilocks.
One group...another September group...very supportive, but frustratingly mainstream.
An unassisted childbirth group...learning a lot, but it's a tad militant. I love the idea of UC, but not sure if I'm ready, and do NOT respond well to being told "THIS IS HOW YOU MUST BEHAVE."
Last night, I read several of the threads here, and Ahhhhhh...just right. My use of a midwife would be supported, should I stay that route, but if I decide to UC, I'd find encouragement too! Wahoo!
I'm 33, single (attached, but not to the baby's father...VERY long story), and expecting my first sometime late September to early October...the EDD is 9/24, but how likely is it that she'll (yes, it's a girl!) show up then?
I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado with my two furry children (basenjis, Katie-F8 & Clay-M3) and plan a homebirth. Suffice it to say that my pregnancy was quite a surprise, and after a day or two (okay, a day) of soul-searching, I realized there was no way I could look at termination for various reasons. Even though I'm pro-choice, it just didn't gibe personally for *me.*
For any other background, and a few pictures, I have a blog that's primarily about baby stuff: http://babyburge.blogspot.com/
Glad to meet you guys...even if it IS only for the next 6-10 weeks!

Hi there!
I've been lurking for months now and gathering *great* information, but with the due date getting so close, it's time for me to say hello!
I'm Jodi, married to Tom since 8/29/03 and expecting baby #1 on 9/15/04 or so (homebirth with a great dr.!) , and momma to our puppy JJ, a black/brown lab who I love to death! Pregnancy has been great; I've never felt better in my life!
I'm actively researching cloth diapers and have some bids out there on ebay. :) We finished painting the baby's room this weekend and I've finished teaching college for an indefinite amount of time so I can be with my baby! That means I have about 5.5 weeks to just WAIT! haha Actually I'm keeping busy, and I have a feeling s/he'll come be late anyway (the 23rd is in my mind).
Great to be a part of MDC! :thumb

Boy, do I feel stupid. I've been posting in the due date thread for awhile now, but somehow I missed this one and never introduced myself - how rude! :duh
Anyway, I'm Stacy and I'm 34 and me and my navy officer dh are expecting our first, a boy. We are going to have a UC, and he's as excited about it as I am. We will not vax, and I plan on eco-bf'ing, sling-wearing, co-sleeping, cd'ing, and I even convinced my dh to leave our little boy intact! Yea, hubby!
I am due today, according to my stupid OB who moved up my due date one week from it's original 9-22 after viewing my only u/s at 24 weeks. I really wished I hadn't heard that, since it has just contributed to my antsiness. I'm having lots of on again/off again go nowhere contractions, and lost part of my plug almost two weeks ago.
