Ok this has been on my mind ever since i got pregnant in Nov. What am I going to do when it gets into the 90's day in and day out every since day? I'm going to swell up like a ballon!!! HELP! LOL I am going to be taking care of my ds (4y/o) and dd (will be 2 in June) and so I'm worried. I mean we have AC but it's going to be really hard!!!

I have no idea. I've been worrying about this too since the start since I can't stand to be warm. It doesn't get unbearable like in some areas, but bad enough (usually 80's, but sometimes in the 90's). I mean we get harsh Canadian winters and I wear a spring jacket in them! When the temp is around the freezing mark, I dont' wear a coat, lol!
My stategy is lots of swimming and covering all the windows so I can just go around the house in my underclothes (we don't have AC, but the basement is pretty cool). Maybe bring a cooler of ice and water with me when I leave the house. Oh and pray for a mild summer!!

I plan on spending the summer in my parent's pool. :) I'm afraid of the Florida heat this summer!

With my first DD, I was due in September, so I had the whole entire summer to sweat, lug around my overly pregnant bod, and swell up to high heaven. Did I learn my lesson? No! Here I am due in August this time. LOL.
I spent the whole summer at my community pool at my old house in Fort Lauderdale. It was a small-ish community (80 homes) with nobody who was home during the day, so it was like a private pool. And, I was only about 5 houses away from it. Very short walk. Now we've moved to Tallahassee, and we live way out in the country. No community pool, nothing nearby. But, just this past weekend, my neighbors told me I could use their above ground pool any time I wanted to. They leave the gate open! WOO-HOO!!! They will be SOOOO sorry they said that! LOL. My DD will just love it, too. They work during the day, so it's basically a private pool. They do have kids, but they'll be at their Dad's house for the month of June, so that whole month I can get used to it in private. And, by July, I won't care what anyone says, so if they're home, I'll just be "I'm pregnant and I don't care. I'm using the pool!"
Now, if the water would just get warm enough. They say by the end of April, it is. I can't wait!

We're way down in Sarasota. :(
i wonder. august is the most humid and hottest month here in north alabama. this baby is due mid-august. my birthday is august 17 so it will be neat to see how close this baby's birthday will be to mine.

Sarasota, eh Kati? Pretty far, I guess. Oh well. :)
And, Juju, my birthday is September 23. My first DD was due September 17. I had a lot of the same thoughts. Will we share a birthday? Won't that be cool! But, she was born September 7.
This time around, I'm due mid to late August. Not entirely sure of my date yet, and I don't want to commit! I think the doctors are going with August 25. I'm pretty sure we won't go as late as my DD's birthday, but I kind of have to wonder what I was thinking having all of our family birthdays so close together. And, then my poor DH's birthday is in December right near Christmas.
Maybe next time we'll plan an April baby!

But when you are due in the spring you go all winter with no really good fruit and veg! I had DD last July and I just went to the pool every day. DS and I walked there and then I made DH come get us to get home! Plan on doing the same but nervous about dealing with 2 at the pool.

We don't have any public pools near our house, but do have beaches. So I was planning on getting our state park sticker and heading to the beach as much as possible. Our summers aren't usually too hot, but there can definitely some hot and humid days. I am hoping it won't be too bad!
I am looking forward to having a newborn in the summer vs. the winter. My ds was born in January, and we could never take him for walks outside when he was colicky or drives b/c it was icy and dark and cold.

Our summer is going to be rough, too. Hot and humid Mississippi. I do have access to the college pool, but ds can't go with me so I am thanking heaven for our fully functional central air conditioning!! I have visions of sprawling out in ds's plastic kiddy pool with the backyard hose. With our new house, we have a privacy fence so no one can see me in my maternity suit and ds who will probably be naked or close to it. :LOL

I cannot wait for summer ...we live to be outside I do not care how hot....lol..we have central air so when I do need a cooler..I will be fine..but I have already told ds we are planning on being in the pool all summer!
The only thing I am begging dh to buy us a season pool pass.....
I had ds #1 in May and it was no where near hot but I sure did enjoy being able to get him out and go for those nice summer morning walks....oh and late evening get him to sleep walks...lol....
We might get one of those dinky above ground pools. Boy am I going to need it! Our summers are brutal, up in the 100's and very stinky and dusty. I hope to be lounging in the water every day! And seeing as how my swimsuit is apparently see-through, I will welcome the privacy!

Carla, you'll laugh, but my strategy is to head for Nova Scotia if I get too hot here in Quebec.

Becca-I have NO IDEA and I am getting scared. I blew up around the ankles last time about months 7.5'til when I gave birth. It was ugly and it was winter for Pete's sake!
The hot Northeast, swollen ankles, and a mamma that has to FORCE herself into a bathing suit! AHHHHHHH!!!

Lots of swimming I think.
We don't have AC, live 6 floors up in an apartment building, and I just can't imagine dragging an almost-2-year old to the mall that often (the mall having AC, I spent a fair amount of time just wandering around there during my last pregnancy)
