...or how will you tell them, if you haven't.

This is, of course, about the new baby!

Well, DH was there when I took the test. So no fancy suprises there :)

We were going to wait to tell our families in some cool and special way, but ended up just spilling the news over the phone.

My husband got home from work, he's a lines tested for a telephone company. He said he'd done so many tests that day. I said I had done a test too, and showed him the positive HPT. He couldn't stop grinning!
I told my mum, she said "Did you know (my cousin) is pregnant again?" I said "No. Did you know I am?"
I just straight out told my dad, and they told my siblings, and my husband told his mother over the phone.
My son told my best friend that mummy had a baby in her tummy under her dress. You can't trust toddlers to keep a secret!

I pee'd on a stick and had DD tell me how many lines.. she said "2 mommy does that mean you are pregnant?". Then I ICQ'd my husband with the news, he was in las vegas on business:) I emailed my mother in law, she in turn told everyone else.

I canno tell you how surprised I was by a positive. I was frantically looking for something and came across a pg test. I was so aggrivated by losing what I was looking for, that I decided to just take the test for the hell of it. I had only had one period since giving birth to Zoe (it was almost a year since her birth), and my cycles are very, very long usually. I concieved Zoe on day 52 of a cycle....

Anyway, I peed on the stick and the pg line turned blue before the test line. No way--NO WAY, I thought. Then I was scared to tell dh--I was afraid he would somehow be mad. I was really worked up about it.

I couldn't imagine telling with words, so I taped the test to the door and wrote on the tape, "Caution!" He opened the door and said, "What does this mean? You're pregnant?!" I started to cry and he rushed to me. "That's wonderful! I"m so excited!"

Then later he said, "What a beautiful day to find out we are having another baby. But we really have to stop at 3, ok?"

LOL.

I told my parents and extended family that I was going to buy a t-shirt that said, "Breeder" across the front. they all got it from that.

Well....It was day 27 in my cycle..usually I wait until day 28 before I panic. I'm one of these abnormally regular people, and it's usually 25/26 day cycles..I got my first PPAF after Elijah at 4 months, but we didn't start trying until January after we moved..

Well..I couldn't stand to wait and wonder, so I ran out and got one of those digital tests thinking, well, if it's negative I can stop thinking about it..I fully expected a negative result..so when it flashed the word pregnant I looked at it and said, "What?? Pregnant??" and Tom came running in the room and was jumping up and down with joy!

We had to tell people cuz we did...so we called parents and friends...except my mother whom I don't get along with and has had nothing to do with Eli. She found out through my daughter who lectured her about her childishness LOL

I feel a little nervous about everyone knowing already, but I also feel OK and that the pregnancy will be good.

I had my 3 yr old go up to both of his grandmas and say, "There's a baby in my mommy's tummy". At first they didn't believe him, but then they were excited:)

Dh found out with me.

I gave DH the bag with an HPT in it when I picked him up from the airport. He didn't really melt into the situation but it was still a fun way to tell him.

We are telling his family when they come to visit in 3 weeks. My family will start to hear it over the grapevine. Maybe I can keep my mouth shut until my vacation in May. Naah! LOL

Dh read the test. We've been trying so long, and he'd been following my cycle so closely he was really sure. I was afraid to get my hopes up but also sure.

We're being very restrained about telling people because we we're pregnant in Dec and m/c in Jan. So I've told three friends and DH has told one. We've only told them because we were seeing them when I was having some spotting and their was no way I could act normal.

We're waiting for the next u/s to tell anyone because I want unequivocal good news this time. Good thing I only have to last until next Thursday because I'm already showing a bit!

It's hard though, because now that I am feeling so much more sure I want to tell everyone.

I've had two miscarriages and my philosophy is to tell everyone I want when I find out. I figure that I couldn't have gotten through those tough times after the miscarriages if I didn't have their support.

Best of luck to you and the wee one.

DH actually coaxed me at 10 at night to walk to Safeway and buy a pg test. For some reason I wanted to wait a couple of days to live in ignorant bliss (this has all been a strange trip for me!). So, we found out together. My mom's in AZ for the winter so she comes back around Easter so I thought I'd wait to tell her and my inlaws at the same time but dh spilled the beans to his dm already.

My mom's a wicked seamstress so each year she comes back from AZ I usually give her a list of pattern numbers for clothes I'm interested in. I thought that I'd give her pattern numbers for mat clothes so she could find out that way but I don't think I could contain myself!

My parents live in Florida, and we're in Maryland. Although I am the youngest of three, at 35 yrs I am the first to have a baby. My dad is 77 and my mom is 67 -- so they are REALLY READY to be grandparents. It has been tough for them because every single friend of theirs has multiple grandkids, many of which are into their teen years already.

Anyway, we told them the news by sending them the book, "The ABC's of Grandparenting." They were floored when they opened the package, and of course called us right away. I could hear them grinning -- they are so happy! It was a fun way to tell them.

I am very glad to never have to hear the words, "biological clock" again! My mom has been pressuring me for years!

A friend of mine told her parents and in-laws by inviting them both to dinner and giving them each an envelope that was tied with a ribbon. Inside each envelope was a copy of their ultrasound picture (she was already in her fourth month when she told them)! That was also very well received!

Well, this pregnancy was a complete surprise. I was almost a week late before I even realized it and took a test. It was VERY positive, and I almost passed out from the shock.

I was at my sister's house in Portland babysitting her kids for a week with my mom. Not very romantic, but I just yelled for DH to come on up (i was still in the bathroom). I handed him the test and was speechless.

We definitely wanted another child, but we were just very surprised because we thought we'd wait until DD was about 3 yrs, or 3.5 yrs. We had been extremely careful (avoided sex for 5 whole days before ovulation and a couple of days after) so I guess this one was really determined. ;)

As for the rest of the fam, we just said "We're having another baby!"

My partner and I work on a private motor yacht finishing a circumnavigation. The trip (and the job) ends in May in Ft. Lauderdale. I guess I could say I was trying to get pregnant (I am the chef and my partner is mate/engineer) thinking that we would be back on solid ground before my prgnancy progressed. My periods had been so irregular. The last period I had was 5 weeks late, so I thought I could wait until I was at least 2 weeks late before testing.
We were in the British Virgin Islands and I was 10 days late and had started to think I probably was pregnant. We managed to find a home test at the "Trading post" store of a yacht club so we bought it before we went snorkling. We had the dinghy and went for a snorkle but I was too distracted by the fact that we had the test to do so we got out. We decided that since we were in the dinghy, noone was anywhere around, and it was a beautiful day, that I would just do the test there. So I peed on the stick off the back of the dighy!
I could see it was positive before I had even finsihed peeing, but dh took the test and held it until the required 2 minutes were up. I was crying with joy before we even looked at it and we hugged and kissed out there in the tropical blue seas.
We told our family a few days later. They were 5 really short, really expensive phone calls that were totally worth it.
Boat life sucks but we're almost done now!
