Hi!

I'm currently a 7 weeks 2 days and I am definitely starting to show--this is my first, so I don't really know what to expect...It`s also kinda weird because I'm not a skinny girl to begin with, so I'm used to having a tummy, but suddenly my tummy is shaped differently, KWIM? And certain pants are TOO tight! I really don't want to let the news get out at my office just yet, so I'm trying to hide it...but feeling like everyone can tell! On the other hand, I went & tried a bunch of mat clothes on last night & it was SO FUN! And SO EXCITING! I'm happy to be showing too!

So is anyone else showing? how do you feel about it?

With my last pregancy I had pretty much outgrown all fitted clothes by 6 weeks! I was completely in maternity by 8 weeks. I showed fast and wore a lot of baggy clothes until I was out of the first trimester and we were ready to tell people (although a lot of people guessed before that!). This time around I'm starting out 15-20 pounds lighter than I was with my last pregnancy and so I'm smaller than I was then, but tummy is definitely rounding out. I've outgrown several pairs of pants (I'm about 8 weeks now), but most were larger on me to start with. Clothes are certainly more uncomfortable in the evening, and I'm sure it's not going to be too much longer before I break out the box of maternity again!

I'm totally showing. With my first I was also out of all fitted clothes by 6 weeks and just wore loose baggier clothes until after the first trimester. I started wearing maternity clothes between 12 and 15 weeks last time and I'm really trying to hold out until then this time b/c I just feel weird putting on mat. clothes at 8 weeks. I did get a pair of Old Navy Maternity jeans though, with a very large waistband instead of the traditional tummy panel and they fit so nice and comfy that I've been wearing them. But, I'm definitely holding off on the mat. shirts.

I'm sort of showing... I can't wear any of my pants anymore. If I wasn't pregnant, but just had a gut, I could handle it, but my stomach is so sensitive! I got a pair of non-maternity overalls and have been living in them. Ah yes, there's nothing sexier than a frizzy-haired, pregnancy induced acne faced, apparent beer gut weilding woman in a pair of baggy overalls trying not to puke!

:LOL

I'm 6 weeks and I'm showing. I started showing at 5 weeks. I have a small waist normally so it's more noticable. I don't hink other people would notice, I just look a little chubbier but to me it's obvious. It was the same last pregnancy and by the end i was HUGE and I put on well over 20kg but my stomach was flat (ish) again within a few days and I was back to my pre pregnancy weight within a few weeks (thanks to my baby that wanted constant feeding and doubled his weight in 3 months and tripled it in 6. I think my weight just went on to him!)
I can still fit into my clothes, I just look like I ate too much!

My belly wasn't small to begin with but I can tell that the shape is changing. I didn't have a round belly with Thomas but I am thinking that I will this time.

My favorite jeans don't fit and my work pants are starting to get tight. I am wearing my PMS clothes. I will definitely be moving over to maternity in a few more weeks.

I wouldnt' say showing as such, but things are definitely changing. My stomach is firmer and my pants don't fit very well. I'm reasonably thin and wear tight fitting clothes so I don't have a lot of leeway before things stop fitting. Like MabelsMum I'd be fine if it was jut fat, but my stomach is senstive and tight things make me feel ill.
I didn't get huge with Kaia and I hope I don't this time either. I'm paranoid that I'm going to get stretchmarks this time. I hope not. Maybe I should put this junk food away then!!! :LOL

My pants are getting tight....and when Jason crawl all over me I can feel my uterus, it's coming up there!

Nope, not showing yet. I still fit in my pants, but they are getting just a bit tight. I have a feeling that I'm going to pop out within the next few weeks though. I'm going to try to hold off on maternity clothes until I'm 4 months along just because I feel weird needing them before that. I think I had to wear them at 3 months with my first though.

Not really showing here at almost 6 weeks either..but I'm 30 lbs heavier than I was with Elijah because I don't lose weight when I breastfeed..so I feel fatter..I put on a maternity outfit from my last pregnancy and it's snug so I may have to go up a size and that's depressing...I feel that my tummy is "softening" and ripening..even though it's not showing..so it was kind of fun to wear maternity clothes and park in the expectant mom spot at whole foods :)

my belly's definitely bigger! not in a uterus-popping-out way, though; more in a love-handles way. i'm down to just a few pairs of pants that fit, and shirts that show a little belly are really no longer an option (although maybe later, when i have a nice big preggo belly...). between that and the boobs, i feel like curve-o-rama. oh, and i'm at 7 weeks 5 days.

yay!

I don't really think I'm showing yet, but can tell my uterus is moving up there. :)

My clothes fit differently, less comfortably but I don't think I'm showing yet. Biologically the uterus doesn't get above the pubic bone until around 12 weeks. I'll be 8 on thursday. :)

Wow, so good to hear I'm not the only one who can't into my pants at 7 weeks 2 days! This is my first pregnancy , so i'm still very reliant on all the books. They all say you won't show till second trimester, so I felt bad, thought I was just getting way too chubby too fast. But I also read that the muscles in the intestines relax, causing distension, and this makes for a larger abdominal area. My shape is definately different than it was and I'm having a hard time feeling good in anything but dresses. Wish there were some jeans that looked a little foxier. Oh well, guess those days are over for now.

You know, even though my tummy has totally popped out, I haven't gained a single pound. :) It was the same way with dd, it's just so weird. I found a pair of jeans from Old Navy maternity that fit so well! They don't have a huge tummy panel, just a large stretchy waist band. Very nice.

i'm having the same experience, alisha--at my midwife appointment the other day, i had actually lost a couple of pounds from the last time i'd been weighed--but man, this belly! i like the relaxing intestine-muscles explanation; it seems to make a lot of sense.

I showed my dh my swollen belly and said "look at my belly!" then he said "that's cause you haven't been doing yoga all week"

nice and smooth thing to say...:angry

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact I'm carrying his love child!

I show differently in the morning. I pop out of bed with a flat tummy, by mid day I've got a little pooch, and when DH comes home, it's "Hello, Pregnant lady"

I guess mine relax during the day. Anybody else have this happen?

yogagirl,
I cannot believe your dh said that!!! OMG! If my dh said something like that, I would have to let him have it. Did you tell him what you thought of that? I'm sure he's a great guy, but that was a very insensitive thing to say. My dh can be pretty insensitive sometimes, and I'm sure he said something like that during my first pregnancy, but he has learned. And he loves pregnant bellies (mine mainly). :D Well, anyway, you are perfectly normal and you need to tell him that. :)

gonnabeamom,
I'm the same way, but I thought it had more to do with the fact that my stomach is totally empty in the morning. Who knows? It is kind of weird though. :)

scheelimama,

Thank you so much for your fury! Yes, I let him it alright. Don't worry, I know how to handle. He really is the world's biggest sweetheart. He's just giving me a hard time cause I really let my practice slide lately. Normally we do yoga togther in the mornings and I haven't joined in on the fun lately due to low energy/naseua. He's learned in some areas but still learning in the pregnancy department (as I am).

Thank you for your kind words and concern but I think calling me perfectly normally might be a bit of a stretch though!:down

Gonnabeamom, I know exactly what you mean! I've had that with both pregnancies. Yesterday, I wore a skirt that fit fine in the morning, by midday was riding a bit high over my tummy, and by the time I had to leave for night classes it was practically at my boobs! Had to change into the ever present overalls. Its the incredible disappearing waistline!

Btw, this also happened more recently, right before I got pregnant. I started thinking "Hey, I'm going to have another baby, why bother caring about my abs?" So by the end of the day I had a noticable, non-baby induced gut! Of course, once you get that BFP, the gut is all good and you can be proud of it, instead of sucking it in. Ahhh... a bonus of pregnancy to counteract all the puking!

gonnabe, that happens to me, too. although this morning it was sticking out a bit when i woke up, so we'll see what kind of state i get myself into by the end of the day, heh. it's really more of a gut than a preggo belly, but since we ALL have one, from the sound of it, it must be part of this!

i'm not doing as much yoga as i was before i got pregnant, either--hardly any, really. but i figure that part of my practice is to listen to my body and not push it into doing things that don't seem good for it at the moment, so i feel fine about it. as soon as this intense fatigue and nausea leave me, i'm going to be all over that mat again--and hopefully in a pool fairly regularly, too. i'm totally daydreaming about swimming, these days.

here's to the pregnant bod!

ack..we won't mention my gut from the last pregnancy!! at least DH says he loves my mommy body.

I had yoga last night (my sister gives me private lessons) and I only got through the warmups and did a final relaxing pose and that was it. I figure when this trimester is over and I have more energy I'll get farther in the workout.

Okay, I must be showing.... it isn't just in my head. Went to Easter dinner last night with family I haven't seen since Christmas and almost everyone could just tell. I didn't have to announce it at all! This is good... I've been paranoid, always asking dh "Do I look pregnant or just fat?!" :)

Seeking Refuge

I must not be showing yet or I was really fat to begin with, because I had just the opposite happen. My grandma walked up and gave me a hug and told me how nice and thin I am getting. I am 10 weeks and 1 day today so you would think that they would ne able to notice soon.

For me, DH says I'm definitely looking pregnant when I was starting to feel the opposite. I was really bloated in the beginning and now that the bloating is gone (well, my waistline is gone, but...)...Anyway, I can't wear some of my clothes, but then there are others that only fit me until 6-7 weeks with dd (my first) and this time I'm still able to wear them at 9 wks 5 days comfortably. I think it's just because I started out smaller (5-7 lbs or so) and I'm not thinking about the fact that I'm pregnant as much, since I have an almost toddler to deal with constantly as well as grad school, so I'm not waiting and watching for every little thing like I did last time. :)

I think I might be showing a little, but not much, and I am 11 weeks today. My belly is definately getting rounder, but I think alot of it is pudge. I can't sleep on my belly anymore though, because it is too uncomfortable. With my first baby, I didn't start really showing until about 7 months, with #2 I really showing around 5 or 6 months, but I gained alot of excess weight with that pregnancy. I am really hoping to stay in my regular clothes until at least 5 months this time. I wear low rise jeans, so allof my jeans still fit great.

I'm 8 weeks now, and definately showing. I am having trouble fitting in to clothes and also hiding the belly! (we have only told close family and friends so far and are not going public until 13 weeks)
I have to go out with some friends in a couple of weeks and I'm sure they'll guess, especially since they keep asking me when I'm having another baby. I don't know what I'll tell them!

I'm not quite 8 weeks and I feel like I'm not quite showing but not quite fitting into my normal clothes! I look like I did at 14 weeks with DS. My lower belly looks really round. I'm starting off about 15-20 pounds less than I did with DS!
